This house was wonderful! We stayed there the last week of March and had a ball. We were there with our two young (7 and 11 yrs old) kids and 23 year old nephew so we rented all 3 bedrooms. We loved the house itself because it had enough space for all of us to hang out and relax without being on top of each other. Open and airy with lots of natural light. We were out on the lanai (deck) all the time. We also really appreciated how well equipped and user-friendly the kitchen was. There were actually enough pots and pans and serving bowls and utensils to cook real meals. I've never encountered that in a rental house and really appreciate the care the owners took in making the kitchen so easy and fun to use. They also provided beach towels and chairs and even beach toys! The BRs were comfortable and big enough and the bathrooms lovely. Nice to have a bathroom for each bedroom! The location was also great for us because it was so close to the bike trail which we used daily and of course a two min walk to the beach. I also must say that it was nothing but a pleasure to deal with the owner and his daughter. We accidentally left a drawer full of clothes at the house and I emailed them a day later to ask if they could mail the clothes back to us. Less than a week later, the clothes arrived at my doorstep. That was just so sweet of them to go the extra mile and I really appreciated that. We would happily stay there again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind review, Diane. I hope you come again. Aris

This is a great North Shore vacation rental. House was great and had all the extras you would need, leave your snorkels and beach towels home this rental had them all. Excellent locaton near Backyards, Sunset and Velzyland if your looking for surf. Really enjoyed the stay, we have stayed at Turtle Bay in past-------this house gave us more room to relax. At Turtle Bay your jamed in one room, here you have the freedom of multiple rooms to enjoy. House really is as described and owner is excellent to deal with. I would say to rent the downstairs bedroom (which has a bath) if you need three bedrooms (living room sofas that convert to beds are always kind of so so). We had no issues while staying here at all. The only concern might be if you have small children------the house is upstairs, with a great lani, and you need to be aware of the stairs with any small children. We will definately stay here again--------------great house.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The house was amazing. The house is in the perfect location. We sat on the lanai and had our morning coffee every morning. The view is beautiful. We walked to the beach every day. The beach is just a few minutes from the house. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. The house also has beach toys for the kids, snorkels and fins, beach towels and beach cruisers for our morning rides! Teds bakery is just minutes away as are many of the local beaches. We snorkeled at Three Tables and Waimea bay. We also hiked at Waimea Falls park. On Thursday we went to the local farmers market at Waimea Falls Park.Foodland (the local grocery store) is also just minutes away. You are also very close to Haleiwa town. We stopped to Matsumoto's for the famous shave ice! There were 8 of us staying in the house and we never felt crowded. The house is very roomy and the 3 restrooms/showers is a big plus! My son got engaged while we were here! We may be back next year for a wedding! The perfect house for the perfect vacation!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

If you want to stay in a beautifully maintained home on Sunset Beach, stay here. The house has a full veranda, high ceilings, an abundance of natural light, space to comfortably fit seven adults - maybe eight - and two babies, and is near to some great beaches and other amenities. I traveled with my husband, mom, and 13 month old. We met my sister and her family in Hawaii. We had a full house, but never felt crowded. The house comes with some great books (O'ahu Revealed is a must read before coming to the islands, but if you don't have it, it's at the house) to help you plan your stay. Read the full house list for the tons of perks. But for us, the kitchen was so nice. It was fully functional with decent cookware(triply), bowls (s/s and a ceramic set by Crate and Barrel), and knives (Chicago Cutlery that need to be honed - I don't think they've been sharpened for a while) that make cooking a meal possible - this is not what I can say for the another house we rented before staying here. While the North Shore is known for its waves, watch the tide calendar to help find when the beaches here will be best for little ones. We snorkeled at Kaena Beach and Sharks Cove during low tide, boogie boarded in between tides, and watched the surfers at high tide. My son loved playing in the sand and chasing the waves at Sunset Beach. The house is actually located near an access that is between the big surf areas of this reknown beach. This little area has a small protected cove that is swimable during low tide (and barring any storms). My son also loved floating in the water at Sharks Cove, playing in the sand and getting in the water at Kaena Beach, and playing in the sand and near the river inlet at Waimea Bay. In terms of amenities nearby, Haleiwa Town is a definite must-see. If you've never been, shave ice and a stop at the local art galleries is a must. But for us, what made this location very convenient was the Foodland on Kam Highway. We are trying to feed my son an organic diet. We had actually stopped by Whole Foods in Honolulu before heading up to the house. But the Foodland just five minutes down the road (across from Sharks Cove) is nicely stocked with organic milk, organic eggs, and organic baby yogurt! The cold food counter was also nicely stocked with sandwiches featuring BoarsHead meats. Ted's Bakery was also fantastic. I'm a big fan of dobash cake, and their's was very memorable. This is a FANTASTIC house! We loved it!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
