Perfect for a romantic get-away for two or a family holiday, this fully furnished, deluxe condominium is located close to the centre of Canmore, Alberta in the Heart of the Canadian Rockies. It is one hour drive from Calgary, five minutes drive from Banff National Park, and 15 minutes drive from the centre of Banff town.
The condominium is located in an attractive new development called The Lodges, a ten-minute walk from downtown Canmore. The condominium, a 585 square foot, top-floor, lofted apartment, was finished in December 2003. It has open plan living, dining and kitchen areas, one bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a second half bathroom, and laundry. The bedroom has a queen-size bed, built-in closet, cable TV, and DVD player. There is also a queen-size sofabed in the living room, enabling this condominium to comfortably sleep four. Both beds are provided with top-quality linens, duvets, and comfortable pillows. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with bath/shower, toilet, and wash basin. Separate towels for use in the condominium and hot tub are provided, along with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. The half bathroom, located off the living area, also has a toilet and wash-hand basin. The laundry is equipped with washer, dryer, iron, ironing board, and detergent.
The condo has a clean, fully equipped, modern kitchen with a side-by-side fridge freezer and ice maker, ceramic top stove, dishwasher, and microwave. In addition, there is a coffee maker, kettle, toaster and blender, and all the cookware, dishes and glassware required to prepare a meal for four. Herbs, spices, condiments, coffee and cleaning materials are provided. For those that prefer to be pampered on holiday, catering can be organized through Reception and there are a variety of local restaurant and take-away options.
The living area is warm and comfortable, with a gas fireplace, 3-seater sofa and armchair. For your entertainment, there are cable TV, DVD and VCR players, a stereo, books, CDs, videos, games and magazines. The dining table comfortably seats four. The condo has its own private balcony with stunning mountain views. The south-facing balcony overlooks the pool and hot tub and is equipped with patio furniture and a gas barbeque.
For children, we have provided a high chair, baby bath, change mat, booster step, stair gate and some children's books and games. Cribs and playpens can be rented through Reception, who can also arrange a baby-sitting service if requested in advance.
We are happy to welcome well-behaved pets, although an additional charge of $25.00 per stay is required. Reception can arrange for a pet-sitting service if booked in advance.
The condominium has its own telephone (we can provide the number in advance if you wish to receive calls) and there is no charge for local calls (Canmore, Banff, Kananaskis Country and Exshaw). Long distance calls can be charged to a calling card. There is a wireless network in the building, plus a computer with high speed internet access in the lobby of the building.
Housekeeping is provided before and after each guest (or twice a week if you book a week or longer stay). Daily housekeeping can also be arranged with Reception at a fee of $45/day. The Lodges has a full service 24-hour Reception/concierge desk for guests. There’s underground heated parking with elevator (and stairway) access to the top floor. Storage lockers are provided free of charge for skis, golf clubs, bikes, etc. The outdoor hot tub and swimming pool (with changing rooms) are popular with guests of all ages. Meeting and Conference Facilities are also available and The Lodges makes a perfect location for weddings, family celebrations or impressing corporate clients.
The Lodges is located within walking distance (about ten minutes on bike/walking paths) of Canmore town centre and its shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs, and theatre. The area is renowned for some of the best hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the world. Yoho, Kootenay, Banff and Jasper National Parks and Kananaskis Country are all close by. The downhill ski areas of Sunshine, Mount Norquay, Nakiska and world class Lake Louise, are within fifteen to fifty minutes drive of the condo. The Canmore Nordic Center, which hosted the 1988 Olympic nordic events is five minutes drive, and offers nordic skiing in winter and mountain biking in summer. There are 84 miles of groomed trails. Other winter sports available in the area include snowshoeing, ice climbing and dog sledding.
The Bow River offers world class fly-fishing, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and a network of riverside trails. Some of Canada’s most beautiful golf courses are also close to Canmore, the world famous Banff Springs, Silvertip, Stewart Creek, and Kananaskis. People come from all over the world to play these courses, which can provide enjoyment for all skill levels. Other summer activities in the area include horseback tours, hiking the spectacular Johnston Canyon and visiting Lake Louise or the Columbia Ice Fields. There are a number of great spas in the area, including the world famous Banff Hot Springs.
