This lovely cedar Viceroy cottage sits on a rocky prominence and has a spacious sunken living room area fully windowed, overlooking the wooded property and lake below. The central area is bright and has a vaulted ceiling. There is a wood burning fireplace in the living room as well as electric heat throughout.
The kitchen is well equipped for family cooking and is open to the living and dining areas. There is a deck off the living/kitchen area and two of the three bedrooms have private decks as well. Linens are included.
There is a winding walkway, created from natural stone, down to the deck and dock at lakeside. The water is excellent for all water sports and is over ten feet deep at the end of the dock.
There is a canoe on the property and all other types of boat can be rented at a local marina. The lake is deep and fishing is reported to be good. Birders will find many colourful species flitting through the mature forest canopy. Chipmunks visit daily to eat peanuts from your hand and if you are quiet on the dock you may see the loon family go by with babies in tow.
Algonquin Provincial Park is 45 minutes drive away, and if you have a hankering to see deer, moose or even an occasional bear take one of the hiking trails through the woods or a leisurely drive along Highway 60.
Huntsville is a busy, attractive tourist town just a few minutes away by car and all of your food and entertainment supplies are available there.
The cottage is named "Rising Mist". An early riser may look across the lake, to see the heavy fog lifting from the still lake as the early morning sun breaks through.
