Our family (2 adults, 3 kids - ages14,13, and 10) had a wonderful 10 day stay for our first visit to Barcelona. We found the apartment exactly as described. Comfortable, spacious and clean. We enjoyed the new mattresses and ample quiet (after about 9 pm) - the windows are well insulated from the street. We shopped in local markets, cooked in every morning and several evenings as well and used it as a base to visit all of Barcelona and surrounding towns. It is centrally located, right near Placa Catalunya and La Ramblas, which made walking and getting cabs very easy. Valentin was responsive and helpful to our few requests. We would recommend this apartment and its owner very highly.

The apartment was even better than we expected. Stayed here with 5 of us, including 3 teenaged boys. The location was perfect - just a block from Plaza Catalunya, but on a quiet and charming street, headed into El Raval, a very nice local, authentic neighborhood. Everything in the apartment was great, just as promised in the write-up. The rooms in the front are beautiful, with high ceilings, tiled floors and big glass doors leading out onto small Spanish terraces. The bedroom in the back is dark and quiet, for someone who is looking for a refuge and needs to sleep in after a late night! Kitchen was very well appointed, had everything we needed to prepare breakfast, coffee and light meals/snacks. Bathrooms are modern, showers are very good. Everything was super clean. The owner was very nice and helpful with our plans - and very accommodating - our plane arrived very early on a Sunday morning and he met us at 7am with the key and to show us around. I would stay here again for sure the next time we are in Barcelona (hopefully very soon!).

This apartment was perfect for my recent stay in Barcelona. This was my first visit to Spain and to Barcelona. The location was fantastic and you are within easy walking distance of all of the major sights in the old town. Also very convenient to the public transportation. The apartment had all of the amentities we needed for a family stay in Barcelona. The owner was waiting for us at the apartment and was very helpful in getting us settled for our stay. I have recommended to my friends and will stay here again.

The apartment could not have been more perfect! It was exactly as described and pictured - maybe even better than described and pictured! My group included two couples, a toddler, and two grandmothers. Everyone was very comfortable, and there was room for everyone to have peace and quiet to themselves when necessary. The apartment was very quiet, even though it is near a lot of activity; the windows and shutters in the bedrooms do a fabulous job of blocking the noise out. The property was remarkably well cleaned and maintained. Valentin was so welcoming and helpful - I felt like I had a friend in the city even though it was my first time visiting! The location of the apartment was the best it could possibly be - walking distance to Las Ramblas, but on a side street that was less busy. We had the most wonderful, comfortable stay, and would love to rent this apartment again the next time we return.

This apartment was perfect for our family holiday. The location is absolutely excellent, and the apartment is quite beautiful and extremely well kept. We are a family of 5 adults (parents, married child and spouse, and single child) and the space accommodated our needs in every way. Two bedrooms are separated by double doors and one is set off with its own bathroom. The 1/2 bathroom is a bonus and supports family harmony! The kitchen is well equipped (and even has a dish washer!!) and three balconies let in plenty of light, but the double glass windows ensure a very quiet street side. The 3rd and separate bedroom is very dark for those late sleepers, but must have thin walls as the neighbors could sometimes be heard. We can't say enough good things about the host - who provided us with much useful and accurate information - and his lovely sister who checked us in and out and made sure we had everything we needed. They even solved problems with the Internet on a holiday! When we return to Barcelona, this will be our first choice for accomidations. We would also recommend it to anyone who wants to feel at home in this bustling and magical city. Did we mention that this is a great location??? You can't get better! We can't wait to return!

A Perfect Apartment to Stay in Barcelona

Mid May 2011 we stayed at this great appartment for five days. My Mom, my sister-in-law my self and our three daughters (ages 7-8-9),on a “girls” trip. The location is the best you can expect, on a small quiet street off Las Ramblas. Just 3 min walk from Plaça de Catalunya where you can take the special tour bus around town. Shopping, restaurants, Gaudi, markets, galleries they are all in a short walking distance. The apartment was perfect in size (actually very spacious), well equipped and very clean. It has an old charm atmosphere with a very updated equipment and details. The building is renovated and felt very safe. The owner met us on site as we arrived and was attentive to every question or request. Barcelona is one of my favorite cities to visit (it was my fourth time) but staying at the apartment felt almost like home.

We had a great time at this apartment. It is large and perfect for 5 ladies in a week-long trip to Barcelona. I can't recommend enough the location, right on the edge of the old quarter and very close to Placa de Catalunya and La Rambla. There are so many restaurants tucked away in the small streets of the old city, it is very easy to simply wander out the door and find something suitable to eat each night. Having stayed in the Eixample area of Barcelona, this is a much better location if you are planning a trip to Barcelona. Much less street noise from cars but lots of people on the streets keeping it lively. The apartment is very spacious.

We stayed at this apartment for about a week in August. It is a truly beautiful place to stay and the location couldn't be more convenient. The kitchen is well equipped, everything was very clean. The owner and his sister were extremely helpful to us and acted quickly when there was a problem (the only problem was that the elevator stopped working one day and one of our party uses a wheelchair, this was resolved within an hour). The apartment is quite wheelchair accessible. There is one small step down from the living room area to the dining area, but we had a small portable ramp along for just such problems. The front entrance to the building also poses a small problem to wheelchair users because you basically need two small ramps, one for each side of the door to get over the high threshold. We scrounged up some boards to use on one side and used our ramp on the other side. The elevator was large enough to accommodate a large power chair. The turn into the apartment is a little tight, but manageable (and this is a really large power wheelchair). The bathrooms were not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. A small chair might be able to get into one of the bathrooms, but the doors are narrow and the spaces tight. This wasn't a problem for us -- we're used to working around this situation. Our kids were happy to have a home to come back to after our Barcelona adventures and we all had a great time!

My husband and I stayed in this appt July 2010 for a little over a week with our 2 daughters. The appartment exceeded our expections. The location is ideal and central for a visit to the city. Every thing we needed access to was very close: Metro stations, buses, the Rambla, the Bocaria, high and low end shopping. Grocery stores, bakeries, gelatorias and must see sights are all right there. The place was clean and stocked for us. We would recommend this place to any friends who want to visit the city.

How lucky we were to choose this property for our Barcelona vacation. From the warm welcome we received when we arrived and throughout our stay we felt that all our needs were met, that we had a home away from home. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, fully equipped and immaculate. The location could not be better. While so close to Las Ramblas, because of the small street where it is located, it felt quiet and peaceful, perfect for a rest after a day of sightseeing. Walking distance to the beautiful outdoor market, we were delighted to be able to buy fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Sights like La Familia Sagrada, Casa Batllo and other Gaudi works, the Picasso Museum, all the great restaurants and shopping on and around Las Ramblas were within easy walking distance. The metro station was just around the corner for further destinations. Valentin was so helpful prior to our trip, answering my many questions. I felt assured that he would be able to give us help if we needed it during our stay. We stayed in 3 cities during our European vacation and our week in Barcelona was my favorite. A big part of it was because of the great apartment. I was on the trip with my two adult children, my son-in-law and my two grandchildren, ages 5 and 11. The apartment was spacious enough that we all felt like we had our own space. The children had plenty of room to play and a bedroom far enough from the living area that sleep came easy for them while the rest of us were still up and about. It was more than adequate for all 6 of us. Barcelona is a fabulous vacation destination and Valentin's apartment couldn't be more perfect to make the trip one of the best ever.

We could not have asked for more. When we arrived, Antonia met us on the main road (the location is a little tricky for us as first timers in Barcelona), helped us unload and took us to a car park nearby. Antonia even arranged a long-stay rate for us for our car (saving us many $$$s). The appartment is lovely, with everything you could possibly need, even a cold beer or two and some water in the fridge when we arrived. The pics on the website certainly give a good impression, but the reality is better still! The location could not be more central, it's really in the heart of the city and a short stroll to the Ramblas. There is so much to see and so many places to eat and drink all within a short walk. When we had a question or issue, Valentin and Antonia responded immediately. I can't thank you enough. This was our home for a fantastic week and we will stay again when we return to Barcelona. Location is perfect, on a quiet street but only a block from Las Ramblas and Cataluyna Square. Apartment itself is spacious, nicely decorated and well-equipped. My husband, mother and toddler daughter stayed here this February and were delighted with Valentin's flat. It is a wonderful location, central to everything and walking distance from everywhere we wanted to go (gothic quarter, up paseo di Gracia, to the Ramblas...) and was spacious enough to accomodate all of us comfortably - even a curious little exploring baby new to walking! The apartment is absolutely beautiful with exquisite details throughout and handmade glass in original doors leading to the balconies that face the street. The flooring is lovely tile and the window treatments (shutters and curtains) are quite in keeping with the age and beauty of the older building. The rooms are very large and are well equipped for storing clothes and sleeping. The location is perfect - two blocks from Las Ramblas - you can walk anywhere in the city and the metro and buses are very close. Shopping in the neighborhood is great, little shops for cheese, meat, etc., but also a large market with all fresh food is about 4 blocks away. The kitchen is completely equipped with new appliances. Also the washer and dryer are quite helpful. The apartment is most lovely, very well equipped and located in a perfect place for anyone to enjoy the most wonderful city of Barcelona. What a pleasure for us.

This flat was perfect for our family. We had more than enough sleeping space for the 5 of us. We stayed in the flat for a month with no trouble at all. The kitchen was more than sufficient and very modern, the beds were comfortable. The airconditioning and the washer dryer worked very well. The location was fantastic. We were in easy walking distance to The Rambla and had very easy access to the subway going any direction - 4 stops to the beach, 4 stops to Monjuic. We were a fairly siginificant walk to the Parc with the Zoo (although you could easily take the subway three stops if you wanted). But the walk was pleasant and certainly easy enough for even our youngest (5). The manager of the property was extremely pleasant and highly responsive to any need. All in all it was a fantastic place!

This apartment was truely the best place for our family of six to stay in Barcelona. It was the perfect starting point for each day that we spent exploring the city. We were close to metro stops, bus stops, taxis, and pedestrian walks that took us wherever we wanted to go. The apartment is comfortable and relaxing. We had everything we needed for cooking, cleaning, and laundry. We found a hair dryer and even an electric fan. There were plenty of towels and bedding. Valentin and Antonia were pleasant and easy to deal with. I strongly recommend this apartment.

We found the Art Nouveau Apartment a perfect place to stay while exploring the grand city of Barcelona. The apartment itself is very spacious and fully equiped. The wireless high speed service was an additional benefit! Allowed us all to stay connected to home and business, while allowing us to search for restuarants, tours, etc. in Barcelona. Valentin was most accommodating and efficient. He made renting his apartment very easy. The surrounding neighborhodd area is rich with great cafes and bakeries. A major supermarket is within quick walking distance and a bank is on the corner, for quick conversion our your currency to Euros. Las Ramblas is foot steps away and led us quickly to the sites and sounds of the city. Thank you Valentin for sharing your wonderful apartment with us!

You have everything you need: complete kitchen, washing machine, tumble dryer, internet connection and more. Good alternative for hotel's staying. And Valentin... very nice person. The apartment was wonderfully located. At the edge of the busy,busy Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas but on a quiet street. The apartment was spacious and quiet and a very easy jumping off point for travel to all parts of the city because the Plaza Catalunya is a metro and bus hub. For those with toddlers there is the wonderful addition of a playground just a block and a half away in a shady square with cafe's along the edge. Take a right out the entrance of the building and you'll come to it in 2 munutes.

Fabulous apartment in the heart of Barcelona! An excellent choice for families and extended families. It easily accomodates 6 people with total comfort! Within walking distance to La Rambla, La Boqueria, and much more! A 5 Euro cab ride to the waterfront and not much more to the Parc Montjuic. Air conditioned and quiet as well...not common in Barcelona! Stay here!

Valentin, Is an excellent host. The apartment is centrally located in the heart of Barcelona, it is clean and Valentin adds nice touches such as slippers and small shampoo bottles for all of his guests. The kitchen appliances are all new and you feel very comfortable eating-in if you need a rest from dining out. I would highly recommend the apartment, it was safe, secure, clean and very comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay. Valentine was a wonderful host. The apartment is right in the heart of the action. We walked to the Opera House, ordered from local restaurants and ate in the lovely kitchen. Very clean.

Great location. Very easy to walk to best sights in Barcelona. La Rambla is a 2 minute walk. Restaurants and bakery within 50 meters. Apartment is very clean and well equipped. Valentin is a great host and nice guy. I would definitely recommend this apartment for a family staying in Barcelona.

We stayed at this apartment for about a week.The apartment was so wonderful,there was nothing to complain about.It was big,clean and also pretty.As for the equippment,we could find everything we needed.We could live as if we were at our own home. The location is good,too.It is located in the center of Barcelona, a very convenient area,and not to mention it is very close to metro and bus stop for airport limousine,in addition even markets are located in 10 minutes walking distance.Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops are also nearby, of course. I've rented the apartment from Valentin, it was really nice, considering I am from Taiwan and this is my very first visit to Europe, Valentin and his family were superb friendly and helpful, made me feel like home. The apartment is very beautiful and clean. Remind me of Gaudi. The location is perfect, it's right in the center in the city, but also very quiet. We've rented apartments throughout Europe and they've all been great, but Valentin's was one of the best. It is so spacious, relaxing and has a great kitchen for any type of cooking you'd desire. Valentin is the perfect host, and had everything from slippers to toothpaste, hair dryers, food for the kids (so they'd be able to have breakfast the next morning) and even fun movies for the DVD. Unbelievable!! The location is simply perfect; close to everything and easy access to the subway. Shopping for groceries is also very easy. You'll find a stocked kitchen and he has stocked it with basics so there's sugar for your morning coffee and jam for the toast. So, all in all, just a fabulous apartment, a wonderful owner and enjoy your time in Barcelona!! Susan

Valentin's family went out of their way to make our stay in their apartment enjoyable. Not only is the apartment spotless and well-decorated, but Valentin and his parents were also great hosts. We arrived on a long holiday weekend, and they actually thought to leave us a great bottle of wine(we actually bought a case of it after trying it) and some goodies in the fridge because they knew there would be no grocery stores open. They made our arrival and our entire 10 days stress-free. Barcelona is a noisy city at night, but don't let your fear of the noise keep you from staying here. While it is noisy, you'll appreciate the convenience of the location (Starbucks is right across the street, as is the Metro and tons of restaurants and shopping). We were thoroughly impressed with the apartment, and would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Barcelona, in part because of the terrific accommodations. The apartment was in an ideal location: close to shopping, the Rambla, and the Metro. With the market just steps away, we purchased our breakfast and snack provisions. The kitchen was well-equipped and everything was spotless. Thanks for making this beautiful, spacious flat available--it couldn't have been better!

My family & I cannot say enough nice things about Valentin Rasero & his wonderful apartment! He is sweet & honest & his apartment is indeed as lovely as it looks on the site -- spacious & airy, very tastefully appointed with all the conveniences a travelling family needs. The place was spotless & charming -- the high ceilings, beautiful tiled floors, & terraces made me smile every time I walked in. We all felt at home immediately, & knew it was the right place for us. I highly recommend it!
