I picked this house for my family Thanksgiving Holiday. Not only was the house everything as advertised (beautiful, relaxing, tranquil) but it turned out to be extremely flexible for the various cast of characters that shared the long weekend with me there. First things first - this was Thanksgiving and the kitchen/dining combo that opened to a beautiful outdoor space was perfect for socializing while cooking. The layout of the house made it super easy for us to be together while also providing space for private time. Regarding flexibility, for the first part of the time we (my two adult kids and I) and another friend with his adjust children (20s-30s) had the house to ourselves. The next day my sister, her husband and their three active girls 12 years old and younger joined us. The patio and pool area became the focal point and our second Thanksgiving meal was enjoyed outdoors. Then on the third day, the family and kids went home and my boyfriend came. At that point I realized what a wonderful spot this was for a romantic weekend as well as for family gatherings. The house was convenient to the Square, local restaurant and great vineyards. And finally, it was quiet.

I spend a lot of time in the wine country but this wonderful home in non-trendy side of Sonoma provided the setting for the best experience I can remember in a long time. A low key weekend with my adult children and their partners was made great by the setting and the property's amenities; a Great pool and patio, perfect outdoor dining setup, kitchen dining layout that allowed the person doing most of the work (me) to keep interacting with my kids and the guests we invited. I had the master bedroom which opened on to the patio but also gave me great privacy. Added pluses - easy access to Sonoma's town square and grocery stores etc., flat area for biking alongside vineyards, very quiet at night. I'm going back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A group of 5 adults and 1 child. we only used the main house. We loved the back yard. There were deer every morning. Had dinner outside on the huge outdoor table. It was unseasonably warm out. The rooms were comfortable, the owner very nice.

Had the opportunity to stay in late February at this lovely home in a beautiful, quiet and country-like neighborhood in Sonoma. Fabulous kitchen, comfy beds and enough rooms to share with a large family or group of friends. Or, for a couple, this makes for a luxurious romantic retreat. The view from the livingroom and outdoor patio is quite special, overlooking land, greenery and hills in the distance without obstructions from houses or buildings. It feels like you're right in the middle of country when you're outdoors in the back garden/patio/pool area. When the weather permits, al fresco dining on the patio is spectacular. My favorite amenity is the lap pool, long enough to get a wonderful workout under blue skies or in late afternoon as the moon rises. The modern kitchen is well equipped for cooking full meals and opens to the dining/living area so that you can socialize while preparing food. The house is at once cozy and large. It is situated close enough to town and the wineries, while at the same time, offering the privacy of being away from the town center and housing developments. There are also some lovely walking paths near the house when you feel like taking a stroll or hike. Would love to own this property as it offers everything I most appreciate in a country-style home in terms of location, amenities, decor, and outdoor space.

comfortable beds, easy kitchen, sunny, outside eating, BEST OF ALL: a long pool with heating. It costs extra to heat the pool but completely worth it. we spent the whole of each day swimming and playing in the water. Heavenly. then we cooked and spent the evenings laughing and eating. When we arrived the owner meet us and showed us around; very friendly.

We were in Sonoma for my daughter's wedding at a local vineyard and wanted to spend a week visiting wineries and getting to know the area a bit. Little did we know what a perfect set-up this home would be. In fact, it was almost too perfect...with lush gardens, fragrant with herbs and flowers, a wonderful lap pool, views of the surrounding hills, close enough to town, but removed just enough to be quiet, private, and heavenly. We cook quite a bit, and were very happy with the spacious and well-appointed kitchen. A large dining room table easily accommodated our large family, as did the equally large picnic table outside. The rooms were spacious, sparkling clean, and cheery...we had to work at finding the motivation to leave and go sightseeing! The owner is wonderful, attentive, and helpful...I highly recommend this property! My only regret is that the never-ending wedding errands meant we saw very few wineries...so we need to return!

We enjoyed everything about our rental of this property. The rental process was easily handled, the owner and her on-site helper were great, and the home itself was perfect for our family (2 parents and 4 grown "kids" between 23-31). The furnishings were very comfortable and clean, the kitchen nicely outfitted with utensils, etc, the yard just beautiful, and the location perfect. We sometimes walked the 3 or so miles to town, sometimes drove. There we found fantastic restaurants, shops, morning upscale coffee, and winery shops with tastings, not to mention Sonoma Market and Whole Foods, offering our kind of groceries. We took excursions to San Francisco, to wineries, to Jack London's house, and to Armstrong Redwoods State Park. This home-away-from-home was lovely to come back to, giving us time together but with enough individual space to be very comfortable. We would all go back in a minute, if we could!

The photos and description of this property are accurate, and it is a special place! We were in Sonoma for a wedding, and we turned it into a family vacation. We could not have chosen a better house. The property is beautiful, with lots of different and interesting spaces. My husband regretted not bringing binoculars to see all the birds. The pool was the fun place for our grandchildren and there were 'noodles' and other pool toys available. The patio has a large table that was our gathering place for meals, and the putting green was the scene of several intense contests. The house itself is comfortable and nice. The beds are excellent, and the sheets and towels are good quality. We had everything we needed. Both the owner and her assistant were terrific and helpful, and I enjoyed talking with them. If we didn't live 3,000 miles away, we rent this house every year!

I stayed at the Sonoma retreat for one of my friend's 50th birthday. We had the most wonderful weekend ever. The girl's described the home as "magical". We sat outside for dinner and enjoyed the view of the pool and mountains. The house was "ready" for us- with beach towels on the back of each chair by the pool, fresh flowers planted because it was mid-March, and a cozy kitchen which I took advantage of to make Gumbo. We asked for the heat to be turned on in the pool and several of us took advantage of that during the weekend. We were minutes from Sonoma square for brunch and shopping, even though I didn't want to leave the poolside. The only problem was that it ended. The beds were comfortable, clean sheets and table linens. I highly recommend this Sonoma getaway. Thank you so much!!!

Some friends and I decided to escape from the City on a mild early spring weekend. We (4 of us) had a great time at this lovely and unpretentious home, swimming, hanging out on the patio, going for a walk in the area, cooking up a storm in the beautiful chef's kitchen. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The bedrooms were comfortable and easily accommodated all of us (we came singly, without our mates). We had no problems finding what we needed and the owner was very gracious in making suggestions about what was available in the area. As it turned out, we never strayed very far because it was so comfortable to just be on the property. I would definitely come back!

About the owner: We are a professional couple with three children and, now, four grandchildren. As San Franciscans it's the best of all possible worlds - just a 50 minute commute to Sonoma where we enjoy lazy weekends and have wonderful three generational family gatherings. VRBO rentals help make this possible for us and we genuinely want our guests to be as pleased with their experience as we are with ours.

              Why the Owner Chose Sonoma:
For years we fantasized about owning our own land in Sonoma , the site of so many wonderful weekends and vacations over the years. We feel in love with this property immediately because of its views of the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountain, its pastoral and secluded setting, and its 2 plus acres which meant there would be room for a 50 ft. pool ( I swim) and a putting green ( my husband golfs). We also wanted to be within a stone's throw of Sonoma Square and the small-town and also sophisticated ambience Sonoma offers. We are five minutes by car which feels perfect to us.
