Across the lane from the beach in Playa Grande’s luxurious Palm Beach Estates, this new four bedroom home is nestled on a large landscaped lot with a pool in front and the nature reserve at the back. Howler monkeys can occasionally be seen as you return from taking in the sunset on the secluded beach - and several of Guanacaste’s finest restaurants and up-scale bars are only blocks away.
The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths as well as a semi-attached guest house with complete bedroom/bath suite. All rooms are equipped with both queen size beds and bunk beds, A/C and ceiling fans. The new kitchen is fully stocked, including large fridge with ice machine. The spacious tile patio has double ceiling fans and a large built-in stainless steel gas grill. Other amenities include two car garage, laundry room, and deep freeze. Everything you need! Comfortably sleeps eight (with beds for up to twelve there is even water taxi service to Tamarindo from Central America’s largest mangrove estuary three hundred yards away. Kalumina…the perfect place to stay!

Our family had a wonderful vacation in April 2010. My husband and I, plus 3 kids, stayed in the main home, and my mother got her own cabana right next door. We met the house manager (a Minneapolis/NYC transplant) in the city of Playa Grande (an easy drive from Liberia Airport) and she led us to the home. She made sure we had everything we needed, was easily reachable by phone, and helped us set up some tours. The home is in a great location. You can walk to a number of restaurants and, of course, the beach. You can drive to Tamarindo or walk down to the beach where a number of boats will take you over for a few dollars. The hammocks, pool and indoor/outdoor living made for a very relaxing stay. Boogie boards at the house kept our kids entertained for hours on the ocean. At night the air conditioners in each bedroom helped cool things off for a great night sleep. The pictures are accurate. Highly recommend breakfast at Hotel Bula Bula, dinner at nearby restaurant owned by Germans (name escapes me, but just a few doors down), zip lining, and watching the sunset every evening over the ocean. If you want an urban setting with numerous night clubs and restaurants go to Tamarindo, but if you want to relax - come to Playa Grande.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
