had a wonderful week in solanas. villa in great location. good restaurants just a few minutes walk and fantastic beach. solanas is ideal for a relaxing holiday. very friendly village. highly recommend this villa and sardinia in general. also possible to get bus from solanas to nearby larger town with more restaurants and bars. (beware no transport back after 1 am!)Owner response: Excellent, glad to hear again from you. It is always a pleasure to leave to our guest a good image of my house in Solanas beach. Definitely a stunning location and very relaxing village (also because my property is the bigger one in Solanas, private and surrounded by mediterranean macchia, ideal to break from working days and very easy to reach with the flights connection from UK to Cagliari). Thank you very much. Kind regards, Marc

This was our second visit to Sardinia but our first time in the south. We stayed in the seaview apartment. Our arrival time was very late but Marco texted us to make sure we were ok and had found where we should be going. Both Marco's Mother and sister were there to greet us. They had very kindly got us a large tray of fresh fruit, water and a bottle of wine. They made sure we were comfortable and then left us to it. It must have been midnight by then but they made us feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. I will never forget opening the shutters to the balcony doors on the first morning, the view was stunning, I had to go and get my husband as I was so excited!! The apartment is really functional and had all we needed. We ate in all the time as food is so much tastier and fresher over there. Whilst away I got a very sore tooth and Marco (by txt and phone) and his Mother could not have been more helpful, to the extent where she went and got me antibiotics from the chemist and recommended a dentist in Cagliari. I was cross with myself for not taking my walking boots as I would have loved to have walked up some of the hills and mountains there. We walked the beach every day and visited Villasimius on a few occasions. Travelling out of peak season you always take risks with weather but we were not disappointed. 3 cloudy days out of 14 isn't bad going, it was quite windy but not cold at all. Solanas is a quiet village, even quieter out of season, it was interesting watching it slowly come to life getting ready for the season to start. If you want to get away from it all, have stunning views, a gorgeous beach on your doorstep and some good walking then this is the place for you. We really want to go back so we can explore a bit more. If you can't speak Italian and have a modern phone then I would recommend downloading "Translator" a fabulous app which helped us enormously with our communication. Lastly a big thank you to Marco, Roberta and Marco's Mum, who I'd adopt any day as my Italian Mum as she as is lovely. :)Owner response: Dear Petra, thank you very much for your important feedback. I am delighted that we have been successfull to meet your expectations. It is always important to offer an attentive assistance, presenting genuine and caring attitude toward all of our guests. In future if you decide to stay at Solanas, do drop me a line and I will oversee your stay, when I am sure you will remember the property for the location and comfortable accommodation and possible upgrade or discount and we do hope to have you as our regular guest. Thank you and have a lovely week Marco

we had the lower appartment for 2 weeks with our baby. it was such a lovely place! very close to a great beach with carribean water. very nice terrace and lovely garden. everything was clean and the mother who took care of us during the stay was really very friendly helpful and a very nice person who even came by with some fruit or pastries from time to time. no luxury appartment, but everything you need for a stay at a beach. also the owner himself was always immediately available for questions and helped as much as he could. we liked the little pizzeria, but also cooked a lot (big spermarket in villasimius, 11 km from solanas). the only thing we missed was the opportunity to watch the european futball cup in a bar, but at least we had the little tv at the appartment. would love to come again!Owner response: Thank you very much Tania for your kind feedback. I am really pleased that you have enjoyed Sardinia and the property. My mother passed me greetings for you and your family. Looking forward to see you one day soon.

We had a lovely holiday at Seaview with our friend & our teenage daughters in July. The apartment was as we'd expected; very clean, fabulous views, with a large double bedroom, twin room & room with bunk beds. The kitchen was equiped with a large fridge freezer, hob & oven and lots of crockery. The shower cubicle was a bit small but adequate. Marco (the owner) answered lots of questions I had and provided various information by e-mail before we arrived, which was really helpful. Communication was a little difficult on arrival though, as Marco's friendly mum) only spoke a little English & we spoke only a tiny bit of Italian. However, she called Marco (who gave us a mobile number to call if needed) to translate & we got by. Seaview is located up a steep, unpaved slope, so not easily accessible for anyone with mobility difficulties or for drivers who are not very confident. The nearby local beach is lovely and took only a few minutes to walk to. There were a couple of cafe bars on the beach, which served snacks/ icecream etc. Within a short drive along the coast road there are lots of other beautiful beaches, or a little further along the coast at Costa Rei & Capo Ferrato. I love Santa Guista beach! We used the local shops & market in Solanas for basic things along with the terrific village butchers shop. Everyone was very friendly & helpful, especially with our attempts to speak Italian! We visited a large supermarket in Villasimius too, which was better for a wider range of food/ drink, as we mainly ate at the apartment . We found a nice restaurant called Santa Barbara, a short drive away, with a good menu (we had to do some transating) and the food portions & quality were great! The only other local place we ate at, which we walked to, was the restaurant near the main coast road which served lovely pizza & had a very friendly waitress! Solanas is very quiet, so we visited Villasimius a couple of times. It's much bigger & more tourist orientated than Solanas (with cafes/ bars/ ice cream parlours/ a selection of souvenir/ jewelery & gift shops and activities like diving). This was our second visit to South Sardinia and I would certainly return again as there is still so much to explore & see; it really is so beautiful!!! If I can learn to speak some Italian it will be a real help though, as it is has managed to remain unspoilt by commercial tourism so far; long may it last!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you very much for your comments. I am delighted that you continue to enjoy our property with garden and its location and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that we offer 3 entrances and you have choosen only the one closer to the beach but there are more gates without the up ( the one you chosen is also paved with a special material, white concrete to avoid the warm up of the land specially in the summer). I have tremend respect of your feedback but Solanas is named one of the best beaches in South Sardinia and recommended for the quite village suitable for families and couples. Villasimius has a lovely centre, however to find a property so close to the beach - like mine - you will spend in that village 5/6 times more. Villasimius is maybe more lively but even noisier, particularly at weekends and high season. I welcome the opportunity to invite me and send me your next enquiry for Solanas soon. Thank you .

We stayed in the downstairs part of the house. It was ideal for the kids as there was a lot of space, chairs and an interesting corridor with all sorts of toys they could use. No view as expected but still a nice outlook onto the green creepers and the mountain on the right. We were lucky we had quiet neighbours above. Not bothered by them at all. The house was a bit cluttered with a mix of cultery and crockery, old towels, linen and bedspreads. Not my style but sufficient for our needs. The location was excellent. A 2 minute walk to a lovely beach. On still days the sea was clearer than a swimming pool. A small reef fun for snorkeling just 100m from shore. Good pizzeria, restaurant at the entrance to Solanas. Limited shop but the market comes twice a week where you can buy everything you need. Beach was very busy on weekend but fine in the week,Owner response: Thank you!! I am pleased you had a nice stay in Solanas. We constantly strive to improve our services based on your feedback on your experience and help us to recognise and share good practice and improve and learn from any aspects of your visit. The small village boasts three restaurants, two pizzerias, two hotels, and few markets. The beach is formed with a charming inlet to arc, of white gorgeous sand, long more than 1 km and enclosed between two rocky promontories of spectacular granite. The place is a very pleasant residential area popular with families and groups alike. The real test of the property performance as a trust is the views and experiences of the people who use the villa. Solanas beach is the place where you must stop - for rest and enjoy in romantic nature. We usually ask to all guests to mantain the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of this private area in Solanas to enjoy the holiday in the property. In Solanas there is a lack of shopping center, just the right with supermarkets ( 3 or 4 depending by the season ) and restaurants ( 3 ) and nice beach services to hire sunbeds, canoes, surfs, etc.... In Cagliari( 30 km) there is an amazing shopping center and in the town nearby you can find more variety however the amazing bay with clear seawater, gorgeous and so relaxing is, only , in Solanas...and just in front of our private main entrance. Superb! Ideal for families, couples and who want enjoy and indulge one of the finest beaches in Sardinia. Hope to see you again in Sardinia soon. Thank you and regards Marc

Brilliant, spotlessly clean 'home from home' accommodation in fantastic elavated position with great sea and mountain views. We could not have wished for anything better. This was our fourth visit to Sardinia and this is a particularly beautiful part of the Island. Solanas was quiet, but it was out of season, so to be expected, but perfect for us. Weather not the greatest (3/4 days of sun out of 9 and a bit chilly) but again, early season, so we were prepared. We had plenty of other things to do other than going to the beach including walking, visiting other towns, particularly Calgliari and the old town, Villasimius (great ice cream parlours, I can't remember the name of any one in particular as we went to so many!) heading out to the reservoir and just taking in the beautiful mountain and coastal scenery. Marco and Marco's Mum could not have been more helpful and the fruit and wine was also appreciated - thank you. We will definitely be coming back again and have already recommended to family and friends.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you very much Tim for your important feedback and kind words. It was very nice talk to you and of course you are very welcome in your next visit in Sardinia and Solanas. See you soon. I wish you a nice week. Thank you. Kind regards, Marco and family.

My husband, teenage son and daughter and myself had a lovely, relaxing week in Solanas. The accomodation was very good and the location ideal. The view from the balcony is beautiful and well worth the short steep walk. The beach is perfect for all ages, especially children. Roberta and Gabriella were very welcoming and kind. The market in the village twice a week was very good for fresh food and the the local shop kept us stocked up with essentials. We would certainly recommend this resort to others and hope one day to return to Sardinia.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you Jackie, much appreciated your kind review. I am delighted you had a nice holiday in Sardinia and in our property. I will pass your greetings to my family. All the best and saluti. Thank you Marco

This is a great Villa, well appointed with a safe gated garden, so perfect for young childen. It feels like your own holiday home. Super close to the beach yet private and up on the hill enough to give you a cooling breeze while you sit in the lovely garden. There isn't quite a view of the sea, but the outlook is still lovely. We'll be going back for sure. Solanas has only a couple of pizzeras and village shops and a fish van that appeared to come twice a week, it's not a place for dinning out every night, Villasimius is close by for this though. Solanas is very relaxed and hence its beauty.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you Alexandra for your kind comment. I know you have been in the property without seaview as the seaview is hidden by plants but it is the one suitable for families with young children and very safe for them. I wish to see you of course soon next year!! Have a nice summer and thanks again for your feedback. Greetings to all your family. Marc

Hello, we are a family of four (2 adults and two children). We spent a three week vacation this holiday home in Solanas. Everything was just as decribed on the website. It is a simple but functional and clean place with a nice veranda and a huge terrace with sea views. One detail that we found very usefull was the shower on the outside, so we could get rid of the sea water before entering the house. The beach is great, and we were supprised that Solanas is relatively unknown among sardinia tourists. To us, it was a perfect holiday. Marco, the owner, is very relaible and friendly. We hope to be able to come back to beautifull Solanas one day. If so, we would not hesitate to choose the same holiday home again. Stefan & Family from Freiburg/black forrest/GermanyRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you Stefan, I am happy you had a good time in Solanas and I have really appreciated your genuine feedback. I have heard about the Black Forest in Germany and one day I hope to visit it. Vielen Dank und Grüße an Ihre Familie. Marco
