This is a big house with a panorama view to the fjord. It is located within peaceful surroundings, situated on the west coast. It is 35 minutes drive from Bergen, and 55 minutes drive from Bergen airport. From the car parking you have to take the boat for 200 meters to the house, or you can walk the hilly path for 10 minutes. The house has two separate apartments, with 4 and 5 beds, perfect for two families or a group. Rent both apartments and you will get a special price! We have also a big dinning room for rent. You can also just hire one of the apartments. The property has several outdoor areas with garden tables and chairs.New: a small cabin for children.There is a very nice grill area perfect for barbecuing and watching the beautiful, late sunset. Maybe you also want to take a warm bath in the outdoor hot tub? Each apartment has a little boat with outdoor engine. The fjord is perfect for fishing and kayaking. One of Europe’s best golf courses is only 30 minutes away by car.

We stayed at this wonderful home for a week this past month of June. The setting is magical and Merethe and Matts have done everything to make it even better. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there in 1 of the many drawers. The main living room was great with a large dining table, sitting area with 2 recliners that allowed you to look out on to the fjord as you read a book or simply daydreamed. There's even a small TV nook with satelite TV for the rainy days when you didn't feel like being outdoors. Bedrooms were good and there was plenty of storage in the knee walls and hidden nooks of each room. This place really shined with the out doors areas however. They have created 4 distinct out door areas to enjoy depedning upon what the unpredictable weather in the area is doing. The main qai and pier area is wonderful. There are sofas and seating areas and table to truly enjoy the view and the late day sun. Then there's a covered "summer kitchen" built above the water to cook and hang on the days when it's raining. Higher up is another area to hang when the wind is from the north that still catches the sun and allows you to be comfortable and away from the wind. Topping it off is a tent that can be turned into a "sweat lodge" if you choose to truly cleanse the body. Since we aren't active boaters it did take a day or 2 to get our "sea legs" around the use of the boat to travel from the parking area to the house and by weeks' end we were completely at ease with this. All and all a wonderful place for a great family get away! Thanks for creating such a great property!

We have choosen Nordbris for our vacation first in 2008 with no particular expectation. These were exceeded and we spent wonderful week overthere. We came back in 2009 with the expectation that our exceeded expectation of last year cannot be beaten as we already knew what's it all about. Therefore our 2009 expectation was not exceeded, but fulfilled. And, we obviously plan to fulfill our very high expectation in 2010, again :-) Thank you, Merethe.

We were completely taken by the beauty surrounding us, the house is reached by small motor boat and this was great fun. There is lots to see in the area. The part of the house we were in had everything we needed. A lovely house to come back to after a day out, clean, simply furnished but homely. We wouldn't go anywhere else if we went back to Norway. The setting is stunning.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I was positivelly surprised by the house and the location. House is spacious and there is added benefit of additional 6 areas where you can sit enjoy you meal and 4 of them have own place for a fire or barbecue. 3 are by the water and three are on the small hill just over the house. House is some 100 years old and even though furniture is not modern house has all creature comforts - including plasma TV, DVD, cable TV, stereo, good selection of cooking utensils in kitchen, etc. in Nord house. South house has basic TV and DVD that plays only black and white :-). We stayed in both parts of the house and the Nord part is better equiped, has more space and better view as one would expect for higher price. Place is not suitable for smaller kids (below 6-8 years old as there is not much what they can do there). Also one needs to use own boat to go to the car-park for every trip - we tried to walk to the carpark with some luggage but that was not really an option especially after some rain. The place is definitely suitable for active people who like variety of things - you can comfortably do a lot of things - we did rafting in Voss, golfing in Meland, fishing, kayaking, hiking, few trips to Bergen, barbecuing, swiming (beware of jellyfish though), mushorrom and blueberry picking, etc... All in all very enjoyable holiday

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We, Merethe and Mads lives at Voss,about 12 miles from our holiday house. Voss is known as a vinter sport city with nice down hill skiing, . But in summer we have a big event; Ekstremsportveko (the week of extremsport) Mads loves to kayak, and in Voss he have courses in river kayaking (for beginners). At our vacation house we have kayaks for rent, to use in the fjord around our summer vacation house. We both love kayaking.

Why the Owner Chose Bergen:
In 1990 Mads got the house from his parents. We have done a lot of improvans of the house. Originally this is a house from 1912, and was a place for working: knitting and fixing fishing nets. In 1970 the house was devided into two separate apartments. We have tryed to maintain some of the old details in the building consrtuction. Mads has great memories from all his summer vacations at this place, with his parents and sister. Mads mum is from this area, so we have family here too.

What we love the best of this house? It must be the stunning sunset late at night. The barberquing areas...We also love to sit and look at the fjord from the living room. And of coures that you can be all alone at this place.
