I cannot express how wonderful the owner was to work with! The home was so unique and updated. Very nice! We had my sister and her family with two young toddlers in the main living area since they always woke up early, and then my husband and our two little ones, and another couple in the separate living area. It worked out very well. LOVE that there were locks up high on the patio doors and a fenced backyard for playing. Pools were very close. Wonderfully stocked kitchen. The wagon was a lifesaver for transporting 4 under age 4 to the beach--short walk, but could have been crazy carrying children! Again the owner is wonderful to work with. I feel that the rental company could have given us better information upon arrival--couldn't find the keys to the back bedrooms at first, and were given the wrong codes for the gates to the neighborhood and beach entry, but it all worked out. Would LOVE to come back!

Wonderful home for extended family vacation. Main living areas and master bedroom are separate from the other 2 bedrooms and bath, so it's perfect for my husband and I and our daughter's family of 4. Well furnished, clean, lovely in every way. Kitchen is nicely supplied with pots, pans, etc. Owner is wonderful to work with. We have been to this home twice and have already booked it for August 2010. Emerald Shores is a beautiful, gated community in which to stay - nice pools and very pretty.

Return to the Sea is a unique home...the photos on this site are spot-on accurate and owner will send many more on request. The one thing not clear in the description or photos is that this home has two distinct living areas. The main area houses the kitchen/LR/DR/master BR/laundry. The other two BR and bath are together across the screened patio from the main area. The patio forms a common area, and the entire house is under one roof. If you have older kids or another couple that would like their privacy, this is perfect. It was a little scary putting our pre-schoolers out there, but the patio doors to the outside did have a latch over 6ft up. The home is like new, the beds are comfortable, the location QUIET! We loved it. The only thing we couldn't find was the wagon.We would say the walk to the beach is closer to 6 minutes, but the pools are very close. If you plan to arrive after hours, you should ask the owner for the code unlock the back bedroom keys (in a key safe) and for the access code to the beach pavillion ahead of time! Owner was gracious enough to answer my call at 9pm on a Saturday nite when local rental agent didn't know the codes! Emerald Shores is far enough out of the Destin rush to be calm and quiet, but close enough to get just about anywhere in 20 minutes if traffic cooperates. We loved it! If only it had been harder to reach the restaurants from there. We came home kind of fat :) Wayne and Vivian Hilton
