This dramatic custom home, located 10 miles South of Sunriver, was designed and built by a doctor as his dream retirement retreat. The east-facing wall toward Mt. Newberry and the Little Deschutes River is all windows - 16 feet high and 60 feet across! - giving you exceptional views and lots of wonderful light inside the home.
The home features two large bedroom suites with vaulted ceilings, each having its own full bathroom. One bedroom has a King bed and the other has a Queen and Twin Bunks. It is ideal for couples or a family with children. The secluded setting makes the home very popular for honeymoons.
There are no adjoining homes to spoil the feeling of peaceful privacy in the home or when you are in the hot tub on the view deck. A great variety of wildlife - deer, otter, beaver, eagles, hawks, quail, and jumping trout can often be viewed from the home (field glasses provided).
Riverfront is situated on a three-acre wooded site and has over 900 feet of private river frontage. The Little Deschutes is a crystal clear trout river, with good numbers of wary large Brown and Rainbow trout.
Inside, the home has been furnished for maximum enjoyment, with such items as a big flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, a glassfront wood stove, and a massaging leather recliner in the living room.
Both bedrooms have large TV's and goosedown comforters on thick pillowtop mattresses. The open-design kitchen features a Jenn-Air range and large workstation island, plus a great assortment of utensils and spices. A separate game room has a tournament-quality pool table, foosball table, exercise equipment, and a real slot machine (takes provided tokens). There are also many movies, hardcover novels and music CD's provided for your enjoyment.
And just two steps out the back door is that big hot tub on the view deck. One of the greatest pleasures in the world is slipping into that warm water on a clear night and looking up at the millions of stars that can be seen here at our higher altitude.
This part of Oregon is in the "rain shadow" of the Cascades, with 300 days of sunshine a year and a very comfortable cool dry climate during the summer months. Golf and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed in non-sweaty comfort. Or, if your looking for a great place to stay during the ski season, this is it. The winters here are unbelieveable.The scenery, the otters in the river, the hot tub ate nite, "ya just gotta be here". The roads, driveway and side walks are maintained.
Nearby are several world-class golf courses, Mt. Bachelor (used by Olympic ski teams for training), countless pristine mountain lakes, wilderness hiking/biking trails, volcanic attractions, and scenic drives. There are so many things to do here - no boredom!
We also provide free rubber rafts and tubes - you can put in at various places upriver and float back down to the dock in our back yard. On a warm summer day, this is great relaxing fun for both adults and kids.
It is an easy 10-minute drive to either Sunriver Resort or to the town of La Pine for groceries. Bend with its many fine restaurants and major shopping malls is only 20 minutes away.
Quiet, housebroken pets are welcome - there is a large dog run, many wooded areas to be sniffed, a river to swim in, and squirrels that need to be exercised. We just ask that pets be kept off the furniture and that you pick up after them outside.

What a fabulous home! We were immediately struck by how well-equipped the house is for guests. We were also incredibly impressed with the views, the proximity to the river and how peaceful the home is for relaxing. Our teenagers loved the game room. It was so much fun to spend family time playing games together, cooking together in the large kitchen and then enjoying the hot tub too. We are planning to go back as we loved it so much. They have truly thought of everything. We couldn't find anything they didn't have available. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with others!

I found Lucy's on this website a couple of years ago and we finally were able to spend a week there this summer. If you are looking to get away from the crowds this is the place. Everything about this home was beyond our expectations. It is extremely well equipted; just bring food. Our teenage boys loved the game room, and our grandchildren loved the beautiful lawn area around three sides of the house. Every morning was spent sitting in the sun, watching the steam rise off the river and enjoying the many birds. They even supply rubber rafts to wander down the slow moving river in. The owners have thought of everything you could need to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful stay in a setting that is beautiful beyond words. We will be back. It would be fun to see it in the winter. We had a wonderful time at Lucy's. The setting was even more relaxing and beautiful than we hoped. There is enough space for everyone to have some room to themselves but plenty of room to gather as a family also. The house is very well appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable stay - really appreciated the bottled water! Zoe the dog enjoyed days sitting in the grass sniffing the breeze and watching the river flow by - and occasionaly jumping in for a dip to cool off! Would definitely recommend a stay at Lucy's.

My girlfriend and I chose Lucy's for a weeks stay to quit smoking. It turned out to be not only the perfect spot, but way beyond our expections. The house was large with an outstanding location and wonderful view.Lucy's had all the amenities of home and more. We loved the deck, the hot tub and the outdoor fire pit. The birds and the geese were wonderful. We hiked along Paulina Creek and snowmobiled to Paulina Lake and up to the peak. Breathtaking ! We cannot wait to go back to Lucy's in warmer weather. And yes, we quit smoking and never could have accomplished that, without this lovely,warm peaceful home.

We just spent 4 wonderful, relaxing days at the home named "Lucy". It could be named "Heaven", it was that special. The location, right on the river, the mountain views, the birds, the geese, awesome . Lucy's was very nicely furnished and very well maintained. The Hosts, Nick and Debbie were at our beck and call. It was very nice. We hot tubed ,hiked, rented snow mobiles and just plain loafed. We very much recommend Lucy's to all of you. I can't imagine what the Summer and Fall seasons are like, but we'll find out. Jim and Marsha

Thank you so much for letting us stay in you beautiful home. You've taken so much care and thought in what you have here. It is delightfully stocked with the "things" we need and couldn't appreciate it more. We floated the river, fished, played horse shoes, pool and just sat outside with the animals. Kayaked the Klamath Marsh Wildlife Refuge and picknicked along the Crater Lake Rim. The whole family enjoyed the Little Deschutes and the wildlife within reach. Slept great, ate healthy ! Enjoyed family time. The Best .
