New Cabin "Altitude's Attitude" - Location, Upscale, Hot Tub!

Year Purchased: 2004

Why the Owner Chose Blowing Rock

The High Country area in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains is as scenic as you will find in the Appalachians and easy to get to by car. The village of Blowing Rock is always recognized as one of the most desirable destinations in the NC mountains due to the extensive shopping, retaurants, special events, and points of interest; our cabin is less than 5 minutes to Main Street but is located on a peaceful, private, dead end road.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Quiet and private, but not so far out that you are isolated; newly built, so everything is in great condition and modern; cleaning service is obsessive about cleanliness

Owner's Map of Blowing Rock

My wife and I live in Raleigh NC and love to go to the NC mountains as we have since we were children. We like to ski, hike, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the High Country area year round. The summers are incredible in Blowing Rock, allowing us to leave the 90 degrees plus in Raleigh and in three hours be in the low/mid 70's. We enjoy the beauty of the fall leaf season and catch an Appalachian State football game on occasion. We always come up after Thanksgiving for our Christmas tree, which is always more fresh but less expensive than trees where we live. Our children love the frequent snows in the winter as well.

Beautiful property looks like was professionally decorated. Enjoyed the cabin very much and has many great features like decks and gas logs that were unexpected. View of the woods, paved driveway, very close to Blowing Rock and nice hot tub. Very clean and very new. Really enjoyed our stay and would rent it again!

Charmingly Decorated

Your attitude has infected us. We are smitten with Blowing Rock and loved your cozy mountain home. Found the cabin with no trouble and it was beautifully decorated in deep, rich green and brown rather than light and airy aqua as it looked in the pictures. We are 3 decorator sisters who picked this cabin for the decor and were not disappointed. The bathrooms especially, were a delight, since they were not pictured and are spacious and nicely designed with ample counters, mirrors, plugs, etc. The owner promptly answered my questions about this and made it easy for us to choose this property. Everything was spotless and functioning and cabin is well equipped with laundry, high-end appliances in kitchen and gas grill. We did not try the hot tub, too busy enjoying charming Blowing Rock and exploring the surrounding neighborhood which is picture perfect. The maze of streets in the adjacent country club area is fascinating and we even discovered a tiny historic church and graveyard one evening as the mist rolled in. Nearby Moses Cone estate not to be missed and if you like the cabin's decor, you'll love the Storie Street Grille! We'll be back! Probably 20 steps down and then up again, to get into this cabin, that are not visible in the photo. Not for the physically challenged.

Owner response:Nice review by this guest; after reading I was sure it was nothing less than 5 Star. Steps are almost always to be expected in the mountains - just a given fact when a structure is on a sloped lot. There are a few mountain properties with few to no steps, but will typically be in valleys or other atypical flat areas. Not what people usually come for in the High Country! Photo 1 (Front/Side View) actually shows reasonably well a good number of the steps to the cabin. The remainder are five steps from the parking area, then a short series of gradual gravel step areas down to the front of the cabin. As I will do for any potential guest, if you have specific needs or concerns please just ask and I will help assure this property is the right fit for you.

Great Fall get-away

We enjoyed our time at your cabin. It was so convenient to Blowing Rock & the Blue Ridge Parkway, yet felt secluded. Our boys loved climbing the trees, making forts in the woods, and "swimming" in the hot tub. The grown-ups enjoyed the fireplace & the views from the porches!

Third time here for me! Love this place! Feels like home and helps me breathe. Today we tackled Tweetsie, tomorrow Grandfather Mountain, and a hike to the waterfalls in Blowing Rock on Monday. It is such a wonderful treat coming here, just not enough time. Your home inspires me.

Beautiful setting, lovely home, and warm decor. We loved our stay here. We came for a 50th Anniversary dinner in Linville. We represented my mother who recently passed, and was in the wedding party. The evening was very dear and it was wonderful to come home to such an inviting cottage. Thank you!
