Our Beach House, the "Big Ten Bungalow," is located steps away from a private Boardwalk to the beautiful sandy beaches of Lake Michigan. The house is located in the acclaimed Beachwalk community, as seen in Coastal Living March 2005. Our house and adjacent coach house, Lindsay's Loft," can be rented together or separately.
Big Ten has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The master suite has a queen bed and a newly renovated bathroom with custom "spa shower." The guest bedroom also has a queen bed. These two front bedrooms have immediate access to the covered upper deck, which includes tables and chairs, and a large hammock for relaxing out of the sun. The third room is set up for kids, with bunk beds and a twin bed great for all ages. The house is child friendly with high chair, pack n' play, crib mattresses, and ample toys.
On the first floor, the family room is equipped with a queen sleeper sofa, high cathedral ceilings, and a fireplace. This room has immediate access to the surrounding back deck, for dining al fresco. The first floor is an open plan, with eat in kitchen, island, living room, and dining room that comfortably seats 12. The house also has stereo with CD, DirecTV, VCR/DVD, extensive movie collection, video games, and outdoor speakers.
The front lower porch is screened in and has a dining table for six with surrounding rockers. The back porch has large Weber gas grill, and umbrella covered dining table that seats six. For outdoor dining, we have installed a fold down buffet.
The adjacent coach house, covered with outdoor towel rack and outdoor shower, is also available for rent. "Lindsay's Loft" is a large studio with cathedral ceilings that includes a double bed, a queen sleeper sofa, full bath, full kitchen, including microwave. Ideal for a couple or small family. The loft can be rented with the house for additional room, or rented separately for the perfect getaway.
Beachwalk has added a new pool for 2005, and features various amenities unique to our community. Highlights are the new basketball court, tennis court, playground, cafe, and man made lake that is ideal for family fishing.
The house is located less than one and a half miles from the Michigan City Zoo, The Blue Chip Casino, and Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall.
