26 Room Victorian Cottage - Stunning Views of Frenchman's Bay

Absolutely gorgeous, historic Victorian(1891)cottage on Grindstone Neck previously owned by the Harper publishing family and located on more than three wooded acres along the Maine coast overlooking Frenchman's Bay with a view of Mt. Desert Island to die for!
The view is seen from most rooms in the house through enormous bay windows as well as the stone terrace which offers a perfect spot for outdoor dining and cocktails while watching the sun slip behind Mt. Cadillac.
If the weather turns cold, there are numerous fireplaces including a dramatic ten-foot stone fireplace in the central living area and comfy couches on which to curl up with a good book. There is a music room with a baby grand piano and a collection of antique books in the large living room.
The house sleeps twelve comfortably, but guests can take advantage of the two daybeds for a total of 14.
The huge eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern appliances and you should be able to serve a large group without any hitches.
Also on the grounds is an Italian walled garden (to which you have "picking privileges"), a treehouse, and a garage. The house is fully equipped with everything that you'll need including a TV/VCR, numerous telephones, wifi, an answering machine and a fax machine.
Access to nine-hole golf course, playground, and walking trails and Acadia National Park.
No smoking and no pets, please.

Our family had the most memorable vacation every. Multiple generations enjoyed picking blueberries, playing croquet, meeting the lobster boats and relaxing. Wonder period house for all ages. Kitchen is rustic but the quiet location is ideal.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
