This quiet and secluded sun-filled cabin, the former home of German actor Klaus Kinski, is set at the end of a dirt road high on a ridgetop between the San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio. Nestled in a grove of towering redwood and Douglas fir trees, bordering Samuel P. Taylor State Park, and a half-mile from the closest house, it offers breathtaking views of Mount Tamalpais and San Geronimo Ridge to the south and Bolinas Ridge to the west.
The cabin boasts a wood stove set in a large stone fireplace for relaxing evenings and romance. A queen bed is at the top of a spiral staircase in a loft overlooking the living area. Hiking and mountain biking trails leave right from the front door. Its location between Central Marin and the Point Reyes National Seashore makes it easy to take advantage of all that Marin County has to offer while affording guests unparalleled privacy.

What a setting and view! At the end of the road (high clearance advised), this handsome cabin gave us an opportunity to comfortably unwind. Like previous reviewers, we came fully provisioned for our stay and, except for one great afternoon at Point Reyes, we stayed put, hiking in the vicinity of the cabin and reading on the fabulous deck. Layers are advisable; the weather varied from deep fog to hot.

The property is even nicer than represented in the photos and write up. Truly completely equipped, located close to civilization, but perched on a ridge surrounded by coastal redwood canyons, views with no neighbors in sight. Because of the long drive up to the cabin, we decided to pack in food and wine for a couple of days and nights, hiked, birdwatched, and read. But it's convenient enough to Pt. Reyes to combined day trips out to the beaches, too. A great place for empty nesters trying to rediscover life without kids! Also perfectly dog friendly.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the noise of the city. It's both wonderfully secluded and yet Point Reyes National Seashore is not that far away.

A perfect place to get away and escape from the city. This is even more remote than I even imagined, very long windy roads to get there and that is exactly what I was looking for. Spectacular views right from the huge deck out back. Fully equipped kitchen and a grill out front. I was fortunate for perfect weather and hiked all day for our stay there. This place is awesome, and you will love your stay here. Owner was perfectly accommodating for any of our needs.

If you are looking for a wonderful refuge just 30 miles away from the city, this is it! It feels like you're staying in a tree house, far away from everyone. The cabin itself is cozy, all of the windows allow fantastic views, and it's heated by a wood stove, which makes it very romantic. There is a BBQ in the front and a balcony in the back overlooking the Valley, where we had some wonderful meals. We didn't get to go to a recommended restaurant, Two Bird Cafe, but we did make all of our meals here, in Liz's wonderfully equipped kitchen. We will certainly be coming back to explore some more! Thank you so much to Liz and her helpful husband for a wonderful place to stay!

This is a dreamy place to slow down your life for a few days. Everything about the cabin is perfect- it's clean and cozy and tasteful. The kitchen will have what you are looking for, and the loft bedroom is fantastic. The drive up is bumpy but as described it does allow for incredible privacy. The owner was available if needed, but she provided excellent directions so we didn't need assistance. The cabin is situated so high up it feels like a tree house. The views, especially as the fog swirls around in the morning will stay with me forever. I live in the bay area but this cabin seems like another world. Highly recommend a stay here.
