There is a wireless router for your laptop computer with a desk dedicated for computers. Bring your laptop and be connected to the world.
Accommodations for this five bedroom vacation home include: two bedrooms with queen beds, a 12x24 bedroom with a king and two twin beds,one bedroom with two queens, and one bedroom with two twin beds. There are three full bathrooms, one sporting a Jacuzzi tub, two kitchens(both with a full refrigerators and stoves, two dens, a large 24-foot covered screened porch, and a fenced yard, and a downstair's patio. Look at the picture with the bycyles and you will see the beach acess that is approximately 30 yards from our drive.
An entertainment package is available. The package includes two golf carts, two ocean kayaks, a surfboard, four bycycles, a surfboard, boggie boards, skim board, crab pots, Bocci balls, etc.
Fripp Island is a 3000-acre private, gated island 19 miles outside of Beaufort, South Carolina. The island has three and one-half miles of beach, with two golf courses. One course is an oceanfront golf course. The second course is an award-winning Davis Love III golf course with a beautiful marsh setting. The ten tennis courts are less than a city block from our house. The island sports miles of scenic bike paths, fitness center, and Camp Fripp, a children's recreation activity center.
The marina has a great boat landing and ample moorage, charter boats, and boat rentals. Several artificial fishing reefs are from one and one-half to nine miles off shore and offer excellent fishing. The marina is on a large tidal creek that opens to a vast expanse of estuaries with some of the best fishing, crabbing, and shrimping on the East Coast.
The beauty of the island has enticed movie makers repeatedly to the Island. Forrest Gump, Jungle Book, and the Prince of Tides were all filmed on Fripp.
One of the best locations on the Island... within 200 feet of the beach, tennis, pools, basketball, and shops... marina a half mile away... two golf courses within a short distance.
The home is nestled among live oaks and palm trees with a large, usable, fenced in yard. The interior of the house has been recently remodeled, and has central heating and cooling. One kitchen has all new Kitchen Aid appliances.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Mid-Island
Fripp is a special place. Living in Charleston, we could be at Kiawah, Wild Dunes, etc. However, Fripp is worth the extra hour and a half drive. We especially like the people and the laid back life style Fripp provides.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Once we arrive at Fripp, we find it hard to leave the island, even to go shopping. However, we do have to go off the island to Boondocks Restaurant at least once a week. Everything that we ever wanted in our retirement is at Fripp, golf, beach, beautiful surroundings, boating, and great bike and walking trails. It is our paradise.

We are Dave & Wylene Martin. We live in Charleston, SC. I am a retired HS coach and administrator and my wife is a retired second grade school teacher. We enjoy golf, working out and being at Fripp. We have two children, Tradd who owns "Househunter", a real-estate company in Columbia, and Brooke who is an international flight attendant.

The McCarter Family of 12 has stayed in this great house for 3 summers and will return in 2004. The house is very nicely furnished and comfortable. With the beach being so close, this house is definitely a treasure. The owners make every effort to assure that families have a wonderful vacation.
