Close to Lourmarin in the tiny village of Puyvert,a picturesque stone house offering maximum comfort and charm. La Bergerie was built about 1670 of honey-colored stone, originally as a farmhouse with stables and granaries and later also used for raising silkworms, it has been renovated into luxurious, spacious living quarters, keeping the original structure wherever possible. All downstairs rooms have gracious vaulted ceilings. Upstairs ceilings are beamed.
For outdoor living most of the year La Bergerie has a walled garden with shady lawn and flowerbeds. A spacious stone terrace next to the house is pleasant for meals on warm days, while a second shaded terrace invites lazy afternoons. The pool house, entered from the garden, leads to a secluded pool of 9.50 meters by 7 meters.
Puyvert is a pretty and tranquil village,sheltered under the Luberon hills. its main street lined with houses dating from the 16th century. While there is no commerce here, excellent restaurants, great shopping,art galleries, cafes, a bank, post office, pharmacy, several doctors, and a dentist may be found within walking distance (about 25 minutes) or a short drive, in Lourmarin, a famous historic and beautiful Vaucluse village.
