  My family has rented homes in the Lenox area for the last several years and this home was one of our favorties! It has a casual, cottagey feel and sits on a lovely piece of property. Very family friendly, it was great to let the kids have run of the large yard area and the swing set. My favorite aspect of the house was how close it is to great hiking in the Audubon nature reserve at Pleasant Valley. Of course, it is also very convenient to all of the great attractions of the area - Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, The Mount and so on... All in all, this rental is an excellent value for the cost.

  Our family loved this old house, which we rated as excellent for an old house. If you're looking for a house with all kinds of modern luxuries, this is not the house for you. We loved the house so much that we returned for a second summer and plan to do it again this summer. We did have enough room for our two children and their families at the same time. The owner was also very accommodating; when we told him the basement stairs were unsafe because there was no railing, he had one put in. The setting is very lovely, and it's a short walk to the Pleasant Valley Bird Sanctuary. The house is located in a very central area, with all kinds of cultural events nearby. There are quite a few museums within easy riding distance, and of course, it's quite near Tanglewood. There is good theatre, many excellent restaurants, and lots of opportunities for hiking. Having been former campers, we find that this house more than meets our needs.

  My family and I spent several nights at this home and had a wonderful experience. We have rented numerous homes before throughout Massachusetts over the last 18 years. This location was great, just 5 minutes from the heart of Lenox and about 25 minutes from Jiminy Peak. There were beautiful trees all around the house. Each bedroom in the home was spacious and comfortable; the pictures on the website reflect the home accurately. It's not a fancy home, but a very comfortable home. The house was very charming with authentic wide board floors and an intimate dining room, yet it also had all of the modern comforts to make a very relaxing vacation. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds very comfortable with plenty of blankets and duvets provided. The steps to the upstairs are steep which I believe could be problematic for a person who has difficulty with steps e.g. elderly person or with a disability, but for our family it was not a concern. One of the bedrooms has an absolutely gorgeous view of the woods. We are a family of five (including two teenagers) plus one dog and all found that there was plenty of space to sit back and relax without being on top of each other. The owners were great to deal with and very accomodating. During our stay there was a two foot snow blizzard and the driveway was plowed and shoveled in a very short amount of time. The owner even took the time to call up and check up on us. We can't wait to rent this again during the summer. It's truly a home away from home - a great place to put your feet up, grab the New Yorker or novel you've been meaning to read and RELAX.
