The cabin was perfect. Clean and nicely furnished -- even nicer than the photos. The deck is HUGE -- the perfect place to sit and relax at the end of the day. The neighbors are wonderful and the man who rented us a boat was friendly and helpful. Communication with the owner was easy and hassle-free. This is a great value for a really nice place and I would recommend it to anyone.

I'd have to say I was concerned about my trip and the condition of the house. Right before we left we noticed the review from Sept 10th basically bashing everything about the house. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that the house was very clean. Our puppy loved the house and yard and was very sad to leave. Although the entrance was steep, I'm nursing a broken ankle and I was able to handle it without a problem. This is a very nice place to stay if you just want to get away. You won't be pampered but you will be quite comfortable.

If you like the outdoors this is the perfect spot for you. After the extremely steep walk to the house (NOT suitable for kids) and you open the front door you are greeted by a waft of musty air and a family of friendly bugs that have taken over the home of which spiders rein king. The couches are so old and worn out that it feels like sitting right on the floor, the linens are dirty, the pillows are stained, the water is septic, the bathroom is dirty, and the loft is like going into a dank cave. The patio is filled with cobwebs, the pier doesn't look like the photos, and at about 6pm the mosquitos and flies come out in swarms. Plus the river was green with so much algae that fishing wasn't possible either. I don't mind renting a home that is 'lived in' or old but this was just poorly maintained and lacked any pride in ownership. I would NOT recommend renting this home. We were extremely disappointed.
Owner response:Hmmm...First bad review in 5 years. I think that a Holiday Inn Express instead of a Cottage in Wisconsin would have better fit them. If you are afraid of bugs then this this is probably not going to be your cup of tea. I stay at the cottage several times a year and am somewhat of a clean freak. These were just very unhappy people in general in my opinion. Thank you. Joe

We stayed at this vacatin rental in June, 2006 and had so much fun! We are so greatful that the vacation rental is pet friendly, since we were able to include all 3 of our dogs on our trip. We had such a ball watching the dogs go swimming in rock river and jumping off our own pier. I highly recommend staying at this house rental on Rock River, near Lake Koshkonong. The house is perfect, clean, and has everything you need to enjoy a great vacation.
