About this property

Cedar Villa, just 50 yards from the Mediterranean sea, is beautifully located to provide you with a wonderful holiday. You get an uninterrupted, panoramic seaview of the Bay of Kalkan, with spectacular sunsets over the mountains. You get a private swimming pool, rock garden and a large veranda/terrace furnished with sunbeds, chairs and table. There is ample cover so you can enjoy al fresco dining. A built-in BBQ supplements the fully equipped kitchen and also included are satellite TV, Bluetooth/AUX Speaker, Xbox, a washing machine and a weekly cleaning/laundry service. Each bedroom has its own balcony/terrace and air-con. There are two Beach Clubs within 250 yards, one providing family fun, a beach and boat trips, the other offering sunbeds on the rocks with access to the sea and a fabulous bar/restaurant. In the evening, you can enjoy a romantic meal at a table set on the rocks with the sea lapping a few feet away.

Activities and Trips: From its base at the foot of the Taurus mountains, close to where the river Xanthos meets the sea, Kalkan offers a wide range of activities to suit all tastes. You can enjoy canoeing on the Xanthos, horse riding across the sands of the Patara National Park, sea kayaking to the underwater city of Kekova (also available via a Boat Trip), paragliding, fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water skiing and swimming.

In addition, there are numerous trips available, including visits to Fetihye Market, Saklikent Gorge (the longest and deepest in Turkey), Pamukkale mineral spa, Carpet Weavers, a jeep safari covering spectacular views and countryside, a day trip to Patara Beach, visits to archaeological sites at Xanthos, Letoon and Patara, visits to traditional mountain villages at Bezirgan, Saribelen and Islamlar and various boat trips, including Kalkan bay and islands and a visit to Meis, a Greek island.

Lovely, comfortable home overlooking the Mediterranean

We loved our stay here, and we would definitely rent this place again, whether we came just the two of us, or with our Extended Family!

Perfect for a small group!

Wonderful experience! The house is in the perfect location. A few minutes drive from the town center and right on the water. Would definitely recommend!!!

Can’t wait to go back

We had such a wonderful and relaxing holiday thanks to Cedar Villa. Its location with the sea right in front of you was truly special. Waking up and having a cup of tea in the balcony watching fishing boats passing by was such a joy as well as having a glass of G&T and wine while admiring an amazing sunset. We felt so fortunate to be able to do this every single day while we stayed there. The villa was well equipped, clean and had everything you need and everything worked. As it was just two of us so we only used one bedroom on the top floor where the bed was comfortable and plenty of wardrobe space. Mehmet came every morning to clean the pool area and also ordered drinking water (19L) for us which was great. He was very helpful in answering our questions about the villa. We spent most of the time in the terrace area with a good size swimming pool and large sitting area with plenty of shades if you want to have a break from the sun. We used a beach club several times and it was great that you could pop in and out of the club to go back to the villa if you need it as it was really close. We really loved staying in Kisla rather than Kalkan for it is much calmer but also within a few mins’ reach of Kalkan in a taxi or a water taxi. All in all, a fantastic place to stay and we are talking about coming back next year!

Our stay

Mehmet organised everything from the start. He arranged a pick up from the airport and was waiting for us at the villa when we arrived. He helped to organise taxis during our stay and was generally so helpful. The villa itself was just as shown and is a very short walk from a fabulous restaurant called “the Castle All in all a very pleasant stay

My name is Glenn Pereira and I am the owner of the villa.
Katie Murphy is my daughter and she kindly handles all the administration to do with villa enquiries and bookings. She is very efficient and will give you the best service possible.
I was born in Burma (now Myanmar) as a British citizen and came to England at the age of 9, to the Croydon area of South East London. I was educated at St Joseph's College in Upper Norwood and UMIST, part of Manchester University, before living in the Wirral, Merseyside and working in Liverpool for 8 years. Married Fiona, who was born in Surrey but lived all her life on the Wirral, and moved with her and our three kids (1,3,5) to the Netherlands where we lived for 22 years before returning to England, to a lovely village called Clifton Hampden near Oxford. I worked in IT and Management consultancy before semi retirement and now work part time as chairman of a training company in the Netherlands.
Katie is our youngest and she is married and living in Cornwall. Having lived much of her life in the Netherlands, she is fluent in Dutch and German. She went to a EU run European school in Bergen in the Netherlands before obtaining an Equine Science degree at Writtle College near Chelmsford. She then worked with horses for many years, mostly with Blue Cross, before becoming the Production Manager for a Lighting company. She is now married and living in Cornwall.
