  Upon arriving at the Villa Escale, we were greeted by Pamela, our most gracious host, who familiarized us with the accommodations and surrounding area. Having her pick up a few basic food items to get us started was much appreciated after our long journey from the States. Throughout our stay, Pamela was only a phone call away, at our service at all times. Using the Villa Escale as our home base, my fiancé and I, along with another couple, thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nice, touring the surrounding towns and nearby cultural sites. The villa, with its views of Nice and the Mediterranean, is just as captivating as the web photos depict, and was equally sparkling and comfortable, equipped with most of the accoutrements we needed. The villa was far more spacious than four people would require, but we enjoyed the luxury of having our own space. Lounging by the pool and basking in the autumn sun was heavenly, with the occasional friendly visit of the neighbor’s cats. The pool water was far too cool for most of us, but we choose not to heat it, as we thought the cost outweighed the potential benefits. The cheering of the soccer team on the weekends and the sounds of children playing in the schoolyards during the weekdays, echoed up toward the villa from the valley below. It was bothersome initially, but then we learned to embrace the sounds of the bustling existence surrounding us. We recommend renting a car that has a tight turning radius and preferably automatic transmission, as negotiating the hair-pins turns on the narrow roads leading up to the villa and the driveway is all quite challenging to anyone not familiar with that terrain. We learned the hard way, with some close calls, and decided to exchange our car for a more appropriate vehicle. Overall, we were certainly pleased with the Villa Escale and hope to return one day soon.

  En famille, nous avons eu le privilège de profiter de la Villa Escale en juin 2012. Cette villa est tout simplement parfaite. Elle est localisée un peu à l'écart du tourbillon que peut offrir Nice, la vue est remarquable avec la vallée et la Méditérannée comme fond d'écran (même après 2 semaines de séjour, on demeurait en extase devant un tel paysage). La demeure en soi est impeccable: elle est très bien entretenue, très propre et offre toute les commodités requises pour un séjour sans tracas dans un environnement très confortable (comparable aux hôtels européens 5 étoiles). Finallement, on ne peut passer sous silence l'accueil et le support remarquable (et en même temps très discret) que nous a offert Pamela, la responsable de la villa et ce tout au long de notre séjour. En bref, nous avons été ravis par la Villa Escale (et nous sommes des gens assez, même très exigents). Nous recommenderions aisement cette location (nous avons déjà commencé auprès de notre entourage) au risque qu'elle ne soit pas disponible le jour où nous aimerions y retourner... Dany-R Létourneau

  The villa was very nice. It was very well-maintained, well-equipped with contemporary furnishing. Everything that we needed was there. It was truly "home away from home". The garden and views were amazing. The location is only a few minutes to city center by car, which was also convenient. Pamela, our host was very helpful and getting us set up and suggesting places to go. The service of having initial groceries delivered was very helpful. The only thing that was not perfect was that the beds were not the most comfortable. They were a bit hard for American standards but not too different from what I have found in European hotels.

  We had a lovely and relaxing vacation at this villa. The views were spectacular and the accommodations were excellent. Th villa was new, spacious, well furnished and very clean. Tucked neatly into the hillside just a few minutes by car from Nice, the vistas down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea and north to the Alps were wonderful. Our contact, Evelyne was extremely helpful, pleasant and very accommodating especially during our extended time there due to the volcanic ash occurrence. The villa met all our expectations and remember if you go, rent a car. It really is a necessity to access the location and to tour the surrounding towns to the north and visiting Nice where there is ample parking. If you are fortunate to visit this home away home, you will not be disappointed.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  A perfect week at this beautiful and so relaxing villa. The villa is very modern and fully equipped, the kitchen has all the conveniences, bedrooms are comfortable. The terrace and the garden are sunny all day long: you can sit for hours just looking at the sea! And thanks to Evelyne the manager who welcomed us very warmly. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone!

  We were three middle-aged couples. The villa was excellent. It is well-maintained. We were met by the property manager who explained the house amenities and mad us feel veryt welcome. I wiould strongly recommend this propery.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

  This is a beatiful quality villa that is furnished and maintained to a very high quality. I took my parents and brother and his wife and we had an excellent time. Claude the host was very helpful and friendly, as were the cleaning ladies. Its situated in the hills at the back of Nice, but is only about 10 minute drive from Nice centre (its a lot nearer as the crow flies but you have to negotiate a winding road down the hillside before hitting the main roads). Having broadband internet and phone available was a real bonus as I had my work laptop with me - a very pleasant environment to do work in! Top Class!!
