We had the best time ever. This condo offered all amenities necessary to make our vacation very comfortable and homey. We were told this place was paradise and that it was! The people were very helpful and friendly. We stayed 2 weeks but wish we had more time. Lots to do and see. We would recommend this condo to anyone who is planning a trip to The Big Island. We hope to return one day.

Tranquil Tropical Get-away

We truly enjoyed our stay at Kona Isle and would eagerly embrace the prospect of another visit. Our condo welcomed us the moment we stepped in. It had everything required to enhance a vacation in paradise:- beach chairs, towels, snorkelling equipment, cooler, picnic supplies. The unit itself was very cozy and offered a panoramic ocean view with the relaxing sound of the unrelenting surf. Each morning began with a refreshing dip in the pool and then some time to soak up a few rays before heading out for the day. The "Big Island" has so much to see and the quide books provided were always with us as we toured the island from east to west and north to south. The most difficult part of our vacation was packing up and leaving. Thankyou for allowing us to enjoy your tranquil, tropical get-away. N & D, Duncan, B.C.

A REAL GEM!

This condo and Kona Isle are so great that after three years we are buying here. Some lucky persons are going to enjoy the winter months here that will now be available. The housekeeping has always been top rate. If you return, Rod will ask if you need anything extra. The owners have thought of everything you could need or want.Each third Sun. there is hula and music at Hulihehe Palace and last Sat. of month at Keauhou shopping center there is Hawaiian music with entry being 2 cans of food. Of course, there are chairs in unit for you to take. .

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Sword's condo at Kona Isle! It's beautifully decorated and very clean. We made good use of the snorkel equipment (at Two Step and Kahulu'u, some of the best we've ever seen!), and the coolers and well-stocked kitchen. The CD's and DVD's were a nice addition. Sitting out on the lanai was very restful, and quiet. We made good use of the barbeque area, and enjoyed watching the sunset and dolphins from the beach area. The reservation process and check-in was simple, and Rod Sword was very helpful. Kona Isle is truly a well-kept secret, the grounds are beautiful, and it's a very convenient location. One suggestion, guide books were provided, but I missed a copy of "Hawaii The Big Island Revealed". I left mine at home to save space in my carry on, and I find it exceptionally useful. We recommend visiting Hula Daddy Kona Coffe in Holualoa, for a private tour and coffee tasting, delicious! Overall, we had a wonderful time, and hope to visit again soon!

(This was a family reunion in three units) “ Of the 3, my favorite was B22 (VRBO 64072), it was absolutely perfect. Overall, we were amazed at how carefully you prepared for our every need. We BBQ’d at the beach area 4 of the 7 nights. The decor in B22 was really lovely. All three were perfect for our needs and we've already recommended them to our friends. We had great snorkeling. Our vacation was PERFECT! We all definitely want to go back again. I can't thank you enough, June

We really enjoyed Kona and the condo was everything we hoped for. It had everything we needed for our stay.Kona Isle is a great complex with a very helpful on site manager.We loved the view from the deck if fact ate every meal there.Decorated to feel like home and indeed it did.Lots of extra things that are necessary for a 9 day stay. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Well done!! and the owners threw in 9 days of sunshine

Dear Rod and Delana, Sept. 13-25, 2009 was our third stay and it never disappoints. It feels so very comfortable- a home away from home. We just retired so this was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sites, music and food of Hawaii. We didn't have enough time so we'll be back, maybe for even longer. Our stay at the Kona Isle was wonderful! We both had a fantastic time and intend to return. We literally worked our way through Rod and Delana's list of suggestions for restaurants, beaches and things to see. Huggos is our favorite....and as for the beaches we had both fantastic snorkeling and body boarding depending on the day. The condo was perfect and just what we were looking for....you had thought of everything...and met some very nice people at the New Year's Eve get-together. What can I say...we'll be back and I'm spreading the word about your condo.

I just returned from my third stay at Rod and Delana's wonderful condo and will be returning again. It is a beautiful place to stay, quiet, peaceful, well managed. The location can't be beat, we particularly enjoy sitting on the sand and watching the sun go down in the evening after an oceanside BBQ. The heated pool is a great plus. The condo, as always, was clean, beautifully decorated, and well stocked with everything we needed to make our vacation complete. Thank you so much, Liz and family from Oregon

This was our 3rd trip to the Big Island. The first 2 times we did the "resort thing", nice but it left a cold feeling. This condo became our home away from home and it could not have been nicer.

The Sword's made the entire booking experience stress free for me. I did not have to do any research on Kona or the Big Island as Rod and Delana provided me with all the information we needed. It saved us allot of time and helped us to make the most of our time in Kona. Loved your well equipped condo, the location and the lovely grounds of the Kona Isle. The heated pool is GREAT!!! Love your nature sound machine in the bedroom it lulled us to sleep every night. The sunsets are so. so. pretty. Thanks for caring so much that we have a great vacation. Comment Text: Many thanks to the Swords for providing a great place to stay. Their condo is very well maintained and extremely clean. Anything we could have thought of needing, was provided in the unit. The bed was extremely comfortable. Lots of towels and sheets available. Great to have a quality washer and dryer right in the condo. The grounds are nicely manicured. It was so wonderful to sit on the lanai and look down to the grounds to the ocean. If you are faced the opposite way, the Swords have put up a decorative mirror so that you won't miss the view. The pool and pool area is really clean and the chaise lounges to enjoy the sun, are first class. Air conditioning, fans and tropical breezes easily keep the unit to a comfortable temperature. We hardly had to use the air conditioner. The unit is far off the main road, so that traffic noise is not a problem at all!! Rod was so responsive in replying to all requests. Everything from the deposit arrangements, to the final payment,getting information was first class. I would highly recommend the Kona Isle, and in particular, Rod and Delana's unit!

Dear Rod & Delana I am writing to thankyou for allowing us the use of your wonderful unit at Kona Isle. Both myself & partner Jeannie had a wonderful time during the week we were there. One of the memorable experiences was most afternoons relaxing by the shoreline with a wine to watch the sun setting in the ocean. Our Ironman races went quite well. Jeannie managed a podium 3rd place in her age category. My race didnt go to plan as I had to deal with a painful hip injury. However, my backup plan was to just finish, which I did in 11.30hrs, just after sunset. We did find your information list very useful and did manage to visit several listed places. One again, thankyou for allowing us to experience Kona and the Big Island from your wonderfully located unit.

I have to agree that this condo must be one of the best values in Hawaii. Nicely furnished, very well equipped kitchen and beautiful location. We really enjoyed the pool and BBQ/beach area. Also, I was able to get a good Wi-Fi connection to my laptop from inside the condo. I expect we'll want to stay here the next time we go to the big island.

Your place is wonderful. It was comfortable and very well appointed. We didn't want for anything. We had a lot of fun visiting with other guests and residents. It is a family place with alot of things to do - right on the property. The property management was friendly and knowledgable. We couldn't have had a better time. Dear Rod and Delana: Thank you for letting us use your delightful condo just before Christmas. We certainly found that you had the best equipped kitchen we have ever had, and we have been coming to Hawaii for 25 years!! We especially like the beach area, and were mesmerized by the beautiful surf. We realized how much we enjoyed being right on the water. The first day we spotted about 40 spinner dolphins and 2 whales. What a show! The other condo owners were friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the past 16 days in your condo in Kona and have promissed ourselves to return next year about the same time. The art work is very tasteful and the furniture adds to that Aloha feeling. The reason we want to return to your place is primarily because of the ambiance of the space you created. I really enjoyed the yoga tapes and we loved the choice in music books and the movie "The gods must be crazy" is one of our favorites. We really appreciated access to the coolers and beach chairs and plastic containers for our lunches too. The sunsets from the condo grounds were great and for us the l mile walk to the "Kona strip" was just the right length to walk of dinner or drinks.
