We spent a week during August 2009 with 3 families/13 people. The cabin was roomy, laid out well to accommodate that many people. It was clean and comfortable. We have fun in the lake swimming, fishing, boating and jet skiing. It was a very enjoyable week and a beautiful setting.
Owner response:Management at the Cabin on Burt Lake strives for the best, and we listen to what the customer needs.. We have tried to better the Cabin each year with new amenities that guests have suggested and will continue to do so. We are happy that everyone has enjoyed the Cabin like my family has and others! Thanks for all the reviews!

ORIGINALLY, WE WERE SIMPLY LOOKING FOR A RUSTIC, AFFORDABLE PLACE TO STAY THAT WOULD ACCOMMODATE US WITH 11 CHILDREN. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FIND! THE OWNER WAS COURTEOUS AND PROMPT TO ANSWER ALL OUR QUESTIONS, PROVIDING MAPS AND INFORMATION OF THE SURROUNDING AREA. HE PROVED HONEST IN HIS DESCRIPTIONS AND MONEY TRANSACTIONS. THE MANAGER WAS FRIENDLY AND HAD A SERVANTS HEART. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CLEANLINESS AND HOW WELL MAINTAINED THE PROPERTY WAS. MY WIFE'S MOTHER ACCOMPANIED US, WHO WAS HEAD OF HOUSE KEEPING AT A PRIVATE RESORT, WAS EQUALLY IMPRESSED. ALL WE HAD TO PROVIDE WAS FOOD. THE CABIN HAD QUALITY RENOVATION AND MODERN FEATURES, FIXTURES AND CONVENIENCES THAT BLENDED VERY NICELY WITH THE RUSTIC FEEL. THE LAKE VIEW FROM THE LIVING ROOM WINDOW WAS BEAUTIFUL. I ENJOYED HAVING COFFEE AND READING MY BIBLE ON THE DECK OVERLOOKING THE LAKE. THE SUNSETS WERE BREATHTAKING FROM THAT SPOT AS WELL, AND I COULD NOT HELP BUT REFLECT ON HOW VERY GOOD THE LORD IS TO ME. WE HAD OUR FIRST HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE THIS YEAR, SO IT WAS A SPECIAL REWARD FOR HIM TO HAVE THE LOFT(which had a gate at the foot of the stairs--Thank You!) ALL TO HIMSELF. HE ENJOYED THE PRIVACY AND SECLUSION. WE PRESENTED HIM WITH HIS DIPLOMA ONE EVENING, AND SHARED WITH HIM SOME WORDS FROM OUR HEARTS WHILE REJOICING IN THE MAN HE HAS BECOME. THE CHILDREN ENJOYED PLAYING IN THE SAND BOX, MAKING FRIENDS WITH ONE OF THE NEIGHBORS, AND ESPECIALLY THE WARM SHALLOW WATER .THAT JACUZZI WORKED OUT NICE FOR GETTING 4 BATHS DONE AT ONCE! THE OLDER CHILDREN HAD LOTS OF FUN AND EXERCISE WITH THE KAYAKS, SHUFFLE BOARD AND FOOSBALL TABLE. MY YOUNGER SON, WELL, HE JUST LIKED TO FISH, CATCH MINNOWS AND CRAYFISH, AND FISH SOME MORE. THE WATER WAS VERY SHALLOW, BUT HE DID MANAGE TO CATCH ONE ROCK BASS.THE CHILDREN DID REPORT SOME SHARKS SWIMMING AROUND THEIR KAYAKS(they don't get out much), BUT WHEN I INVESTIGATED, THEY TURNED OUT TO BE SOME PRETTY NICE SIZED, CURIOUS PIKE, THAT WERE'NT QUITE CURIOUS ENOUGH TO GET CAUGHT. BEING FROM THE DETROIT AREA, WE'VE NEVER SEEN WATER THAT YOU COULD SEE THROUGH, OR A SKY SO CLEAR, YOU CAN SEE MILLIONS OF STARS AT NIGHT OFF THE END OF THE PIER, OR A QUIET SO DEEP YOU CAN HEAR YOURSELF THINK. WITH LITTLE ONES IN BED, WE GOT TO ENJOY WARMING OURSELVES FROM THE COOL, EARLY JUNE, EVENING BREEZES, AROUND A CAMPFIRE WITH SOME POPCORN AND SMORES. AND THAT JACUZZI WORKS NICE ALSO FOR A TIRED MA + PA, WHO ARE STILL IN LOVE. THANK YOU FOR A MEMORABLE TIME, WE WILL CHERISH IT
Owner response:Cabin is a great place to make memories for all ages. We are always glad that others can enjoy the place. Thank you for your nice comments. Management

My husband and I got married in this cabin in front of the fireplace on 11/28/08. It was the most amazing time of my life, and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and intimate setting. The area is amazing, the cabin is charming and beautiful inside. The downstairs bedroom has a jacuzzi in it!! It was utterly amazing. I would suggest for anyone to stay here. We had fires every night, and felt more than welcome there. We hope to stay in this cabin for many anniversaries to come. :)

What a delightful place for a wonderful week-end during Michigan's color season. The cabin has been beautifully updated with everything you could want for rest, enjoyment and just good family fun. The views of the lake with the sun setting are spectacular. The cleanliness of the cabin is very impressive. The owner and the caretaker were great to work with. We took a color tour Saturday into Charlevoix and Petsokey - just a nice distance. We recommend this place highly and will look to return in the near future.

Cabin was clean with lots of room; Great big jacuzzi tub. Lake was crystal clear and sunsets were fantastic. Kayaks were a lot of fun and property manager was especially helpful. Cabin is within walking distance to a good restaurant, close to Indian River, and surrounded by other beautiful homes.

Wow, what a fantastic place! We stayed here for a week in June with our 2 adult children and their families. There were 10 of us all-together. It was a wonderful place with all the amenities. The loft was perfect for the kids...they pretended it was a fort...that made for lots of fun. Everyday, the men went fishing out on the boat that we took up with us, we visited Mackinac Island one glorious day and we all road bikes around the island in our matching T-shirts that said, "Burt Lake Bash 2008," we had dinner at Hoppies restaurant (where Mike Ridley sometimes performs...a popular night spot within walking distance) and we had some scrumptious meals out on the grill. The facility and grounds are kept immaculate, and the crew that manages the unit are outstanding. We had such a good time, our family has decided to make this a yearly event.
