  I was lucky enough to spend my 40th birthday here with many of my closest girlfriends. The house was cozy in feel with the wood and stone. And also completely spacious, especially with the open layout of the top floor, which was perfect for the group to gather...not to mention the lake view from there! It's minutes from Heavenly and South Lake Tahoe, and easy to get to from Reno. Monte and Maria were kind and easy to coordinate with. We agreed, we'd rent this place again :)

  To everyone looking to ski Heavenly, look no further. This home is huge and is very close to Heavenly. We thought that we would have to drive into town to catch the gondola every day. We were wrong. Just down the street and over to the Stagecoach lift which is 5 minutes from the house if that. The kitchen is great for cooking in. The TV has surround sound and is big enough for the whole group to enjoy. Nice to play pool and be in between the tv room and kitchen, it keeps everyone together. Beds all were great and the hot tub was clean each day and at 103 degrees for after skiing. Casino's are ten minutes away with the exception of the Lakeside casino which was about 5 minutes away. Over all the place was perfect, clean, and close to all we needed.

  This house was our home away from home for 4 days. My friend and I wanted to celebrate our 40th birthday somewhere we have never been. So, our party of 12 decided to party in Lake Tahoe. Everyone in the party feel in love with this house because of the pics on the website. We walked in to the house and it was beautiful, from top to bottom beautiful. We got to the top floor and looked out over the balcony and the views were beyond amazing. We stayed in most nights just to watch the sunset over the mountains. The kitchen and living area had plenty of room for everyone to hang out and it never felt crowded. The location was great, just around the corner from ski lifts and 2 minutes to town for shopping/spa. We're already talking about going back. We had a great time!

  We stayed in the cabin for four nights. It is in excellent condition. All of our needs were provided for. I would stay here again in the future. Excellent value on top of the line accomodations.

  There are certain places that you can get to that feel like vacation is supposed to feel like. This house is just one of those places. We had a great time, the place was great, the service was fantastic and we couldn't have asked for more. Literally everything that they promise in pictures and description is true!

  I was part of a four family group that stayed at this home for President's weekend 2013. The home was fantastic. Very spacious with great views. More importantly, we had a small isssue when we got there and the owner immediately took care of it by phone. I would definitely return to this property.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

  We loved this home! We are normally high end resort guests and this was the first time we have rented a home. There were two families with older teens and adult children... the homes floor plan was ideal for spending time together or private time in your own room. The views are magnificent, the mattresses very comfortable, the kitchen was large and functioned well and we never ran out of hot water. Used the wood burning fireplace every night while playing pool. Close to slopes, you do need a car as the bus service was intermintent. We highly recommend this home! Thank you Monte.

  Our large, extended family of 18 (3 years to 70 years old) spent a week in this South Tahoe home and we had a great time. The photos don't really do the house justice. The views are spectacular from every window, there are comfortable furnishings and bedding in all the bedrooms, the gourmet kitchen well-stocked and clean, the great room where everyone could hang out, play pool, etc., and (the best part), the hot tub waiting for us at the end of a long day of skiing. The location was perfect, only minutes away from the casinos, skiing, restaurants, grocery store, etc. We had a lot of snow, but never had a problem getting in and out of the house, and the younger kids even enjoyed sledding down the driveway as the house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac and there is absolutely no thru-traffic. The owner's were easy to work with, and we had no problems booking the house, everything was very professional. Hope we can come again! Thank you1

  This house turned into a back up plan because of an owners cancellation @ another property but i can not imagine another place being more accomadating than "Chateau De Monte"!Very well built & extremely well planned house for entertaining large groups.We were a group of 13 adults & not a one complained about the arrangements .Monte & Maria, I would like to thank you so much for opening & sharing this awesome place for us to share such a special occasion with our family.Very minor glitches were incountered but we were able to work them out all the while not having to contact management.Kitchen has everything needed to prepare fabulous meals ,which were prepared by more than one person & more than one feast was enjoyed.Being from Louisiana , meals are not just a need but turn into events in our family.Some members in our group can really" pass a good time" in the kitchen.So in reflection of our stay ,the (air)mattress in the office from the fold out couch does come with a pump(took a minute to realize this,thought at first it was just collapsed & wore out.) & the breaker for the microwave that flips a switch thats found on the next level down in a hall closet,all was great & if we had to do it all over again ,we would not change a thing as far as where we stayed.Loved every minute of it.The views from any web site you find this house on do not do justice for the views experienced once you are there.   Wow!!! what a beautiful home this is. Our stay was just wonderful. There was a bit of snow when we got there but the weather was just perfect. The house was so comfortable and we got to cook while we were there. You have supplies everything that we would need to not worry if we had the right kitchen items. We loved all the rooms and the view from every window was incredible. We wanted to stay longer but we have to work the next day. I would definitely return for a longer time next time. Thank you for such great details on your house. It is an amazing house. One thing I would like to see is a lift to carry all the things to the kitchen and rooms.
