God's Country, Lake Neklason! Located in the beautiful Matanuska Valley, Billy Jack Woodruff's cabin offers you the perfect opportunity to enjoy the very best of what Alaska has to offer. Just 45 minutes from Anchorage, the cabin is easily accessible and makes the perfect "Home Base" for exploring Denali National Park, Knik and Matanuska Glaciers and Hatcher's Pass. The cabin is near Palmer the home of the Alaska State Fair.

Billy Jack's cabin enjoys unique and stunning views looking straight over the lake to Hatcher's Pass. We are surrounded by mountain ranges, with many lakes in the area.

A few steps down the path and you will arrive lakeside to find a great boat dock with canoe available for guest use. The boat dock is also a great place to fish from.

This is a three level cabin. The Master suite occupies the entire third floor and is complete with king bed and private bath. A private balcony overlooking the lake is just off of the Master suite. The view from here is just incredible. One that you will always remember.

On the main level is a fully equipped kitchen complete with all appliances and top of line gas grill. The guest bedroom is here, furnished with double bed, the lower level third bedroom has one double futon. There is also a television room with wide screen tv and second bath.

On the ground level is a two car garage, completed heated, for you to use during your stay and store in gear you may be traveling with.

Easily reached from Anchorage, the Mananuska-Sustine Valley is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, clear rivers and glaciers. The scenery is beautiful with abundant wildlife and amazing vistas. There are many activities available such as fishing, hunting, flight seeing, glacier trekking, kayaking, hiking, jet boating and river rafting. These activities are readily available in the Palmer, Wasilla and Talkeetna areas.

The Alaska State Fair is held in Palmer each August. The dates are August 23 through September 3. The award for the giant cabbage is revealed on the last day of the fair. The growing season is very short in the Mat-Su Valley. The long days of summer sun produce the largest vegetables on earth. The flowers are quite incredible as well and not to be missed.
