Henry & I were in heaven throughout our stay here at this beautiful location & awesome house ! When we weren't diving and snorkeling, we spent practically every minute on the porch soaking up the view. Did the hike to the top of the point. Didn't realize crabs could hike up there too :) The Beach Club is under construction, but they offered lunch & dinner at the restaurant. Weather was good, hot for this time of year. a few quick showers here & there. We loved diving the wreck! Got to dive Vanishing Rock & Dry Rocks East. Saw a gigantic lobster & very large turtle at the Roane. Needless to say, the diving here was fantastic. But be aware of the strong currents. We were turned back more than once due to their strength. It was very fun living the island life while we were here. Thanks for offering us the opportunity to stay here. We admire your resourcefulness in making your house solar powered. It was an added & appreciated benefit to our trip here to the BVI. With Great Memories - Donna and Henry.

My family and I loved staying here at Quart-A-Nancy Point. We have previously stayed at the house the hill and this was a definite step up. The big porch was awesome and the best part was the hammock. Never walk to haulovers bay ! Its a difficult hike and there isn't much there (except for trash). The snorkeling is awesome, and feeding the hermit crabs is fun. The views were amazing. A lot of great places you can go to here: Foxy Taboo's, Saba Rock, Wreck of the Rhone, Virgin Gorda (the baths), Marina Cay, and swimming with dolphins on Tortola. Thank you for letting us stay here !

our family of 4 came to cooper island for the first time at first site we thought we were in Peradice. "Fred's House" is a beutiful house and great for getting a good view of the sun setting. Down at the dock is great to snorckle and dive, but don't go to far snorckling there's a big barakuda and it doesn't look friendly. The beach club is a nice place to meet up with friend's and once and a wile nice to go to for desert (they have great brownies and carrot cake). My family and me went on a snorckling trip that was easily aranged at the divers shop down at the beach club and it was amazing ! If you run out of food you can just go to the beach club dock at 2PM and theres a delivery boat that sells bread, ice cream, cake, fruit, dairy products and other goods (but just as a tip is SUPER exPensive)! one last tip about this place is that the volts don't go any higher than 12.6 at night. So save some energy by using candles at night time. I hope you enjoy this Place like we did, and have a haPPy time on cooPer island.

We had 12 glorious days at Quart-A-Nancy Point. What a fabulous spot. This was truly the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. We have sailed to Cooper Island for the last 10 years, and decided to rent a house this time. The best decision ever! The views are spectacular, the hermit crabs very entertaining, snorkeling and kayaking for exercise, and enjoying reading on the beautiful outdoor living room porch (love the hammock!). Everything about this home is ideal. We'll be back. Thank you to Fred and Candia for allowing us to rent your paradise. Jim and Shirley

"Relaxed Exercise" Really enjoyed the unbelievable view. Kind of like watching a sleeping baby or a warm home fire. One of the birds came down and yelled at us every night until we learned to fill the bird bath in the courtyard ! It didn't rain for 10 days straight and we discovered that the crabs get very lethargic from lack of water ... so we filled their water basin and they were happy campers again! We also had fun making shapes with the left over coffee grounds and pancake mix. We again didn't have rain for 10 days, so used the leftover dish & shower water for irrigating the landscaping. For exercise, we rented a kayak for our entire stay and on one calm day circumnavigated the entire island. We hiked the hill behind the house for a spectacular view. We snorkeled daily off Cistern Point and off Quart-A-Nancy Point, where we saw hundreds of squid, one octopus, one ray (over five feet across), many turtles from off the porch and underwater, flounders, and the ever present BARRACUDA ! This was the most relaxing special, beautiful vacation we have ever taken. We've sailed through here 7 times and THIS WAS THE MOST ENJOYABLE OF ALL. Thank you for sharing, Fred & Candia. ps: The crabs hate egg shells ! They love apple cores and orange peels.

Five of us came from Maine about a week ago. Flew to St Thomas then took the "Fast Ferry" to Tortola. This is our 4th visit to Cooper and as soon as we landed at Road Town it felt like coming home. Our first two stays were at the Beach Club, the next at the "Hill House", and of course this year at the Kruse House. Every year it just gets better. Highlights of the trip: Of course the totally wacky hermit crabs just off the deck. Beware: I think if you ever fell asleep there they would have you down to just bones in an hour! Two large sea turtles were living in front of the house about 100' (right about where you see the light blue). They came up for air throughout the day. Hunter (my oldest son) and I did about 7 dives. The most interesting was a night dive at Cistern Point when we came upon a huge hawksbill turtle and a day dive over at Alice in Wonderland (Ginger Island) where the coral is amazing and we saw more turtles and a black tipped reef shark. We rented a 15' boat in Tortola which is the way to go if you want to dive. The Kruse House has been a wonderful place to stay. What a perfect island house and how nicely it has been set up for guests. Sure hope we can come back and do it again !

Not very much to add, save a very special thank you to the Kruses for sharing this very special place with us. Although of course we are renters, it felt like we were guests at your home. We appreciated all the special touches - arty photos, very well equipped kitchen; great stove and fine working fridge - we know those can be tough to get here on the island. While the house is equipped with all the bells & whistles (fax, phone, tv, computer port, etc) we all decided (and I the mom insisted) to just use the CD player and phone as needed so we could spend each night playing card games round the table. We all hope to return here sooner than later. Thank You !

I could not imagine a better place for our honeymoon! The incredible views, local hospitality, the amenities, snorkeling, hermit crabs... it was perfect! I could go on and on, but if you are reading this trying to decipher guest comments and whether this house is worthy of your vacation plans, I am writing this to tell you that it is, it really, really is. Thanks Kruse's! -Mac and Kim

Quart-A-Nancy is Quite-A-Place!!!! The privacy and amenities provided in this lovely hillside home made for a wonderful Cooper Island vacation experience for us during our 4th visit to this unique and special island. It truly is a spectacular setting, and the owners have made some lovely renovations and upgrades to their home. We have been to many Caribbean destinations, but have to say that the view from the glorious front porch is probably the most beautiful we have ever experienced!!!! You could spend your entire vacation just sitting there savoring the sunsets and watching the sail boats and cruise ships pass by. Showering will never be the same again once you have used the fabulous new open air one! The house provides excellent grilling facilities and has a very well-equipped kitchen (I even made muffins!),as well as a generous supply of linens/towels. Having the Internet access and TV was a real plus too. As always, the warm and friendly CIBC staff was most accommodating in ensuring that we had everything we needed during our stay. Having stayed at the CIBC during our prior visits to the island, I would have to say the only negative with staying at Quart-A-Nancy rather than in one of the efficiencies, is accessibility. If you plan to have all your meals at the house, and don't wish to sun-bathe /swim from a sandy beach, then Quart-A-Nancy is definitely the place for you. However, if you do plan to spend much time over at the CIBC, be aware that getting back and forth can be challenging. While the hillside location affords privacy and a spectacular view, it IS quite a hike up and down, and certainly not for those who are not physically fit. Don't pack just your flip-flops; bring your sneakers!!! Also, depending on wind /weather conditions, the trip back and forth via dinghy can be tricky as well, and would recommend that you not make this your first boating experience if you are not already accustomed to the sport. Overall though, we had a wonderful stay, and thank the Kruse family for sharing their lovely home, and allowing us to experience Cooper Island from a perspective we never would have experienced otherwise. As you indicate in your description - it truly is a small piece of paradise!

The seven of us (3 children age 6 and 8yrs) and four adults had the most relaxing, dreamy, and fun 11 days! Here at Quart-A-Nancy Point we know we found the fountain of youth. Smooth skin, warm water, lots of oxygen in the creamy air. We could stay here forever. This perfectly sited house kept us all very happy and we leave reluctant but refreshed. We all vow to return and drink in more of the experience of the BVI (not just the rum & tequila drinks) very soon. Thank you so much for sharing paradise with us !

We have stayed in a hilltop villa on Tortola...We have sailed between the islands of the BVI, BUT this vacation has been the best! The house and the view that comes with it is one of a kind. One needed only to slip on a snorkeling mask and jump from the dock to experience some of the best fish viewing around. The waters were crystal clear and warm - we spent a lot of time floating. I recommend renting a kayak from Sail Caribbean at the Cooper Island Beach Club - a trip to Salt Island was about 40 minutes across - and the same back. Take plenty of sunscreen and water! You may meet a man at Salt Island sitting in the sun with a hardhat on his head...not only did he impart to us his wisdom on getting back to Cooper Island, he shared with us the "wisdom" of a life well live in these islands. Enjoy the Beach Club! Its only a short swim away. We hope to be back sometime soon!

We love the hermit crabs & sleeping in the hammock ! Haulover bay has some awesome conch shells & we loved snorkeling by the “Rock” – Sting rays, sea turtles, barracuda everywhere. Go see the Virgin Gorda Baths & Norman Island Sea Cave & Shipwreck of the Rhone.Thank you so much for a wonderful getaway. This was a vacation much needed ! Seeing a shark at Haulovers was particularly neat as well as multiple sea turtles. This was a wonderful trip in a beautiful house with a gorgeous view ! Thank you MUCH Kruses !

This is our 4th stay on Cooper, the first at Quart-A-Nancy. The panoramic view has never ceased to amaze us ! We found the house to be quite comfortable, and we cooked in a lot! No other restaurants could offer quite the same ambience. It is about as dry as we have ever seen it here, so we watered the plants regularly. Besides the boat watching, we enjoyed the birds, and also the hermit crabs. The may like coffee grounds, but chicken was a definite favorite. We four are divers and found Sail Caribbean great to dive with. Painted Walls and the Rhone were particularly good. Sadly we do see the evidence of coral bleaching and some fish, formerly in abundance, were never seen this trip. I did see 3 eagle rays on my first snorkel past the fish trap. Quite a site, since they feed in the grass, they are less wary than usual, so easy to approach. We have had such a beautiful, relaxing time here, and undoubtedly will be back. Thanks to the Kruses for providing this delightful setting!

We are closing our wonderful week here at Quart-A-Nancy Point with smiles on our faces and our hearts soothed by the ocean. My husband and daughter and grandparents all had a special time here. We were surprised how well the snorkeling here is and dove the wreck of the Rhone and look forward to diving it again ! We had done most of our meals on the fantastic deck/porch. The kitchen is great for cooling where you are prepared. Having a kayak and traveling the island during rough seas was 1 ½ hours around. We found our entertainment when a hermit crag changed shells, hiking up to the ridge (out the back gate, along the fence to the left then up the hill at the corner of the fence with a 360 degree view.) We found out how much the lizard liked to eat the scorpions. We think the scorpion got a ride in my husbands wet suit when we found it turning inside out – Beware ! The swim to the beach is short and we used the dinghy mostly. Wonderful beach for our 4 year old. Lots of R&R. Miles of “Placek” smiles. Thank you !

Our recent stay at Copper Island was wonderful: the swimming and snorkelling was great, and the hummingbird show around the porch was amazing. The house is in great shape, and the many improvements are terrific. We enjoyed the new plantings, the paved patio, and especially the new outdoor shower. The views from both outdoor showers are just stunning. We hope to repeat our visits for many years to come. Irena & Lubosh K. Reston, VA USA

11/27/2006This was our second trip in as many years to Cooper Island, BVI. Last year, my wife and I stayed at a different private home on the island. While we still had a great vacation, Quart-A-Nancy Point was a complete upgrade in all respects. The house is absolutely beautiful with fantastic views across the channel. Fred and Candia (the new owners) have obviously spent considerable love, time and money updating this vacation home and it shows inside and out. We cooked most of our meals at the house. Each day after scuba diving (Sail Caribbean is an excellent outfit) the four of us ate lunch at the Cooper Island Beach Club. The food is absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced. We also fully enjoyed taking the motorized dinghy back and forth to the beach club especially at night for dinner (or drinks), which was equally fantastic food. The dinghy was also put to daily use transporting us to the mooring balls at the far side of Manchionel Bay for really good snorkeling at Cistern Point rock. Snorkeling was surprisingly good to the North side of the private dock at the house. We had a multitude of close encounters right in Manchionel Bay with green turtles, eagle rays, stingrays, very large barracuda, octopus… Quart-A-Nancy Point provided us with the complete privacy we always look for on vacations of this type. When we weren’t in the water, most of our time was spent on the beautiful open-air porch that spans the entire length of the house. We chartered a private trip to spend the day over at Virgin Gorda. Make sure you try to plan around the cruise ship schedule. We were picked up and dropped off right at the house dock. I also highly recommend renting kayaks for your entire stay. They provide you with wonderful exploring opportunities around Cooper and give you the vehicle to discover some truly amazing “off the map” snorkeling spots around the Southern side of the island. The kayaks also allow you to access completely private desolate sandy beaches for which to pack a lunch, plenty of beers and water to spend the day wasting time, swimming and snorkeling (such as Haulovers Bay). If you are looking for the true definition of getting away and completely unwinding, Cooper Island and Quart-A-Nancy Point is the place. We’re just a few short weeks from a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, CO. Love those extremes!Chris & Jackie Brown along with Matt & Michelle Loomis.

We are sitting at the table enjoying the sound of the wind, waves & chimes. The view is fantastic – and it is our last morning ! The house & island exceeded our expectations. The solar system worked fine. The kitchen was better stocked that expected. Diving with Sail Caribbean was fine. Be sure to go to the Painted Wall & the Rhone if you dive. Snorkeling off the jetty was good too. There is a resident drumfish, lobster – etc. We saw a spotted eagle ray 5’+ within touching distance! What a treat. The best entertainment – watching the hermit crabs. They Gcoffee grounds & cheese.A wonderful holiday.

We loved your place and would definitely stay again. The snorkelling was fantastic - we spent most of our time snorkelling right outside the house (we preferred it to the area on the other side of the bay). The seagrass attracts the turtles, of which we saw many. The bird life is great too. We took a boat out from Sail Caribbean Divers and visited Virgin Gorda and had lunch at Little Dix bay, which was nice. Many thanks for letting us stay in your paradise!

We Just got back from our stay at Quart -A- Nancy. We had a fantastic time! We celebrated our 10th Anniversary there. It is the perfect prescription for a couple craving privacy, seclusion, romance and spending uninterrupted quality time with each other. The views are unparalled. Snorkeling right off of the private dock is some of the best we've seen and the water was crystal clear and as warm as a soothing bath. A wonderful restaurant with a helpful and friendly staff is just a dinghy ride away, whenever you want to be in contact with civilization. The folks at Cooper Island Beach Club are ever present and helpful in caring for the house. The owners have clearly put a lot of love and attention into updating the house and continue to improve it even further. Having wireless internet and a phone available was an incredible plus and a very unusual amenity for a vacation house on a tiny out-island. We had a blast and are making plans to return next year, if not sooner. Keep up the fantastic work, Fred & Candia!

Your home and the atmosphere on Cooper Island rendered one of the best experiences we have ever encountered during our travels: The peacefulness of the entire place was more than we could have hoped for. You have quite a space on that island-better than ANY resorts that are available in the Caribbean: You have made the house so comfortable, lush and tastefully decorated, with a great assortment of books and games (we broke in the Scrabble and Backgammon over many glasses of wine on your sunset-lit porch). We loved the entire ambiance and although the area is very private, the view of the bay & the comings/goings of the sailboats was exciting. The water was pure & clean, snorkelling was awesome & the boat jetty was very comfortable for sunbathing-who needed the beach with privacy like that? We are definitely looking forward to a return trip!
