We just stayed at your house this past week. The layout of the house and view of the ocean were great. I felt the house was dirty when we arrived even though the cleaners had just left. The air conditioning vent on the entry door level was caked with dust and there were cob webs in the bunk bed room and on the hand railing going upstairs as well as all over the outside deck. Needless to say my girls did not sleep well knowing there were spiders in their room. The back right bathroom smelled of urine upon arrival and the odor never improved. There were 2 chairs on your deck that had rotted and were unusable. I believe you should remove broken furniture off your deck. You definitely need to spray for ants. They were crawling all over the kitchen counter, back door and bathroom upstairs. The coffee maker broke on Tuesday. Phoned Amber at outerbanks blue. Received new coffee maker on Thursday afternoon. We bought a grill and left it for your future guests. The ones you had at the house are not in great working order. I gave my list of issues to Outerbanks Blue upon delivering the coffee maker. Despite all of these issues, we had a great vacation. We had great weather, many dophin sightings and beautiful sun rises.
Owner response: Thank you for your review of our home “Sentimental Journey.” The house has a special place in our hearts, and I’m so glad that you enjoyed your stay last week. I understand the weather was perfect, and you are right it is a fantastic view from the living room isn’t it. I’m really surprised and disappointed to hear that the property wasn’t as clean as you expected. Typically Outer Banks Blue’s cleaners are spot on with the cleaning of the property, and they usually follow up with an inspector after your arrival to be sure everything is satisfactory. Just keep in mind in the future if you ever have a problem to please let them know right away because they keep the office open late on check in days, and I’m sure they would have rectified anything within a couple of hours of your arrival. I’m sorry about the coffeemaker not making it through the week…glad they got you a replacement right promptly. As for the deck furniture, we of course did take a long look at everything when we were there in the spring. It gets a lot of use and we will be down at the property in a couple of weeks and will make sure everything is in good order. Thanks again for your review, we look forward to welcoming you back to “Sentimental Journey” in the near future. We are already taking bookings for next year, and weeks are going fast! All the best!

This will be our 4th consecutive Spring break (from the education profession) to this most awesome home. We have stayed at 3 other OBX locations, but this one is, by far, our favorite. It has a lived in feel & is warm & inviting. This is our week of ocean front living (which we wish we could do permanently) & we think we have found the best deal on OBX. From the time we walk in to the time we depart, we feel like it is our slice of heaven on earth. Someday we hope to meet the gracious owners and thank them personally for sharing their beautiful home with us. We look forward to returning many more times.
Owner response:Thank you so much for the kind words. We love the house at the beach also. We like to try and make our properties comfortable and pleasant for our guests. We do our best to provide you with a positive "memorable getaway".
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

Our vacation to the Outer Banks was very enjoyable. Weather was good and your place fit the bill. By the way thank you for arranging for some porpoises to come by in the morning to entertain us. It was much appreciated.
