Relaxing Kihei Getaway

Our family of 4, including 2 teenagers, loved staying at Teresa and Chuck's condo. There was plenty of space for all of us. The clean condo had everything that we needed. We made good use of the beach chairs and cooler for our day trips. The barbeque and pool areas were very well maintained everyday. The complex was usually quiet by 11:00 p.m. and your wakeup call is the birds. The condo is located at the quiet end of Kihei. We loved being across the road from Kamaole Beach III for swimming and we watched a few sunsets from the grassy area in front of the beach. It was fun to watch some of the condo owners blowing their conch shells when the sun was setting. Some of favorite things we did: - Snorkeling at Keawakapu Beach (a 15 minute walk from the condo) - All the beaches in the Wailea and Makena area. You can find parking if you arrive before 10:00 a.m. It was good to get an early start because the wind picks up in the afternoon. - Shopping in Pa'ia, Makawao, and at the Maui Swap Meet on Saturday in Kahului. - We did see Lahaina but we didn't plan that day very well. We went on a Thursday when a 2600 person cruise ship was in port. It was very crowded in town! - Ziplining at Pi'iholo Ranch - Paddling boarding in Kalama Beach Park - Maui Ocean Center in Ma'alaea - Haleakala Crater (dress warm . . . we sure didn't!) - Last but not least, the Road to Hana. It was amazing and you can drive the entire road. It is narrow and windy, but that is part of the fun. I would drive it clockwise. You must stop in a small village called Ke'anae (after mile marker 16) and stop at Aunty Sandy's for banana bread. So good! - We had good meals at 808 Deli (breakfast and lunch only), Cafe O'Lei (would recommend reservations because wait time can be 40 minutes and the atmosphere is quite lively), and Sarento's on the Beach (expensive but it was our splurge on our last night there). Staying at Teresa and Chuck's condo for our first visit to Maui was memorable. They are so easy to deal with. We will definitely be back for another winter getaway.

Thank you for allowing us to rent your condo in Maui. We had a great time and look forward to returning in the future. What we liked about the condo: location, clean, the beautiful ensuite upstairs, basic condiments (salt, pepper, seasoning/spices), kitchen supplies (birquettes, plastic wrap, foil, garbage bags, dish/dishwasher/hand soap & paper towels), and beach accessories (cooler, icepaks, chairs, umbrella, towels).

We simply cannot say enough about Chuck & Teresa’s condo in Kihei. It is a great location for relaxation, activities, and local restaurants. You are only a 5 minute drive to Wailea, walking distance to shops, the beach and several amazing restaurants (Monkeypod, Café O’Lei, Pu Pu Lounge, etc.) to name a few. The condo is only a 25-30 minute drive from the airport, 30 minutes to Lahaina and 40 minutes to the north shore of the island. The accommodations are very bright, inviting, clean and spacious. There is PLENTY of room for a large family (holds six people comfortably.) The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils (pots, pans, silverware, plates etc.) for cooking. There is even a dishwasher, washer and dryer in the unit, which is extremely convenient. The master bathroom is remodeled with a walk-in shower and stone floors, as well as granite counter tops and ample lighting. The condo is near the upper pool as well as the barbeque area. The grounds are maintained very well with beautiful landscaping. The condo faces north, so you are welcomed with cool winds from the Lanai. However if needed, each bedroom has AC units and fans. Most importantly, the staff at the complex are very friendly and accommodating. If you have any issues, they are quick to respond. We would DEFINITELY stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on Maui!

Our ten days here were definitely not enough for our family of three. The unit is very comfortable and has everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The description was very accurate and matched the property exactly. The unit was clean, kitchen has everything we needed, beach chairs and umbrellas proved to be very useful. Thank you Teresa and Chuck for a wonderful stay!

We love staying at Hale Kamaole! This 2 bedroom condo was perfect. Teresa and Chuck have remodeled the unit beautifully and it has everything you may need to make your visit perfect. The unit was clean and well organized when we arrived. Location is wonderful... Close to the best beaches in Maui!

Comfort & Convenience in Maui

Together with 4 women friends (ages 47-53) I recently stayed in Teresa & Chuck's condo for 2 weeks. We found the condo very convenient in location, close to many beautiful beaches, shopping & restaurants. We wanted the have the opportunity to eat in or eat out during our trip and the apartment was well equipped to cook for the nights we chose to eat in. There is a large 4 grill bbq. just below the unit, which was also a friendly gathering place for other guests. The suite is well equipped for cooking and has plenty of dishes, glasses, etc. The complex has 2 swimming pools. We prefer the beach (as there are so many beautiful ones to choose from) but ocassionally we used the pool which was again right below our unit, which was very handy. The condo is equipped with beach chairs, beach towels and beach toys. The unit is very clean and there was enough seating for our entire group. The bed in the master bedroom in particular is very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom is spacious and lovely. Although there is a beach walking distance from the condo I would recommend renting a car for Maui as there are many beautiful areas to explore as well as many very good restaurants to try. Before my trip when reading other reviews I wondered what all the fuss was about with the shaved ices. Well . . . now I know! Declicious. A must have. We all had a wonderful time and would recommend this condo.

Tropical dreams on Maui

This condo is nicely furnished and well maintained. It is quiet because its location is at a sufficient distance from S. Kihei Rd. It is only a 5 minute walk to Kamaole Beach III, a beautiful beach with fine white sand. We were a party of 2 couples and had a wonderful time. The condo felt like home.

Fantastic condo in a great location

This was our second stay and we'll definitely be back again. Condo is very nice and clean, well updated and has everything you can think of, including even boogie boards and snorkel gear. It's probably one of the best units in the complex - we've dropped by a couple of open houses and there's no comparison. Kamaole beach park right across the street is great for swimming and snorkeling and you can get to Molokai from nearby Wailea. Plenty of decent restaurants nearby, some within walking distance (808 bistro and Cafe O'Lei are quite good). Overall highly recommended.

Thank you Theresa and Chuck for opening up your home to us. We have 4 teenage girls and the arrangement was perfect for a large family. We liked that the loft was set up with twin beds so that none of us had to sleep on a pull-out. The kitchen was well equipped and we took good use of your beach chairs, beach towels and boogy boards. The location was perfect as we liked being at the end of the Kamaole strip away from all the activity, but still close to some of the best beaches on the Island. We would highly recommend your place to family and friends. Thanks again. Linda

First trip to Maui for our 2 kids (ages 14 and 20) - they had a great time! The condo was comfortable for the 4 of us. We cooked and bbq'd most of our meals here to save money. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans /utensils. There were beach chairs/towels and umbrellas available for our use- plus a small cooler! The beach located across the street was very nice - no crowds. The office staff was nice and very helpful. We would recommend this property - and hope to return!

Perfect location just across the street from the beach and near shopping. Amazing views! Also the unit is very near the pool. They had all the necessities, etc needed for cooking and all the beach chairs, boards, etc. for fun. Unit was in good shape. An update would be good in the main bath shower but all else was great and clean. Only noise we had was birds chirping! I would definitely stay here again. Kihei is great for relaxing and is away from all the hotel crowds.

We had a great time at your very clean condo. Everything we needed was there. It was nice to have the beach chairs, beach mats and towels. We added a couple of boogie boards to your supplies. The location was perfect with a beach across the street that the teenagers really enjoyed! Snorkeling was really close in Wailea at the Ulua/Mokapu beach. Wish we had started snorkeling earlier in the trip. The condo seemed to be conveniently located in the middle of the island. It was easy to drive to a variety of different areas. Took the road to Hana and went to Haleakala National Park(not for the sunrise because we have two teenagers). Everyone we encountered at the complex was very friendly. I also loved that I could step outside and pick mangos from the tree.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

A Great Mauii Vacation

Thank you Chuck and Teresa. We really enjoyed our stay in your condo and had another fabulous vacation in Mauii. This was our second stay at the Hale Kamaole and the first stay at your place and we will certainly stay at your condo again. Your place is beautiful, well appointed and very clean. The pictures posted accurately reflect the condo. We love the complex - the grounds are well maintained, the pools are nice and there are great beaches within walking distance. The condo is well equipped with beach chairs, mats, umbrellas and beach towels. There are wonderfull restaurants nearby and lots of activities to keep our family occupied. The Hale Kamaole is a very friendly complex. You get to meet a lot of people sitting around the pool or out at sunset celebrating another great day in Mauii. The highlight of our trip this year was our zipline outing with Flyin Hawaiian. It was fantastic. I would highly recommend staying at the Hale Kamaole complex and specifically at this condo.

We travel to Maui every year for our family vacation and this year stayed at Chuck and Teresa's condo. It was fabulous! We have two small kids who loved staying in the loft. The master bedroom and bathroom are beautifully appointed. The large great room is a great family space and the complex is very family friendly. The condo comes complete with beach toys and the close proximity to the beach is handy to enjoy the spectacular Maui sunsets. It was a great home base for a fantastic vacation. We hope to be back soon!

Your condo was the perfect place for our family vacation with 4 boys. It was great to have the well equipped kitchen and the BBQs too. We did a lot of our own cooking to keep costs down. We really appreciated the dishwasher also. Our boys loved that they could go to the beach with the boogie boards or play tennis or swim in the pool. Dan and I liked the beach chairs that could be easily carried down to watch the amazing sunsets! The condo neighbors were friendly and it was fun to meet other visitors. Thanks again!

We have just returned from our second stay at your beautiful condo at Hale Kamaole and we wish we were still there! Your home is both attractively decorated and comfortable, making our stay in Kihei absolutely spectacular! We especially enjoyed being able to walk down to the beach in front for a morning swim. We love the sounds of the birds and the gardens around the complex are so well tended and beautifully landscaped. The location is great – close enough to shopping, but also at the south end of Kihei where it’s a little quieter. Each time we’ve visited, we have been accompanied by our daughter and her husband, and our two grown sons. The condo is most comfortable for the six of us. We hope to be back again soon! Teresa and Chuck Reilly’s condo at Hale Kamaole is everything that anyone would need on a vacation. Chuck and Teresa are wonderful to work with and they make sure your vacation is a success. Their condo is truly their home. It has all the accommodations that anyone needs while in Maui. A tremendous compliment to them on how comfortable their beds are in the condo. For those of us who travel a lot, to have a bed that you can comfortably sleep in is a dream come true. Their condo is close to Kamaole III beach but it is also close to any activities that you would want to partake in Kihei. We would recommend barbequing as it does provide an opportunity to meet other individuals at the complex as well as other travelers. As recent renters of this condo, our entire party would recommend Teresa and Chuck’s condo to them. We certainly plan to rent from them again. Maholo! Diane and Brian Volk

This condo was everything we were looking for and more! Super clean, really comfortable and the location is great. We really liked how easy it was to get to the beach (a quick stroll across the road) and how everything we needed was readily available. OMG! we had such a wonderful vacation in Maui in August. We really didn’t want to leave. The condo was perfect for us. I had my 3 daughters with me, one used the guest room and the other two used the twin beds in the loft area. The beds were cozy, everyone had their own space. There were beach towels and beach chairs which was very convenient for us. We found the condo convenient to many things like the beach, the Wailea Grand Hotel where we went to a Luau, across the street is a boat dock where we did a snorkel tour. We used the pool until 9:00 pm at night. It was just great and we plan to come back — soon.

We were so lucky to have found this gem in Maui! My family and I spend a week at Chuck and Teresa’s condo and it was everything that we hoped for and more. We were very pleased with everything ranging from the cleansiness, the appliances, decor and location of the unit. Our trip was a first for the entire family and we cannot wait to book again. We enjoyed our stay at your condo. Turns out we stayed in your unit 6 years ago!! Mostly everyone snorkled quite often, shopped some and ate well. Took in the Luau up the beach at the big hotel and the fire guy was outstanding as was dinner and the rest of the show. Kids took us to Mom’s fish house for my birthday dinner so that was great. Had a good breakfasts etc at the 5 Palms Grill and that was wonderful one morning. Had sundown dinner at Moose McGillicuties and that was good and not a bad price. Played tennis with my granddaughter several times. Even starting at 7 am by 7:45 it’s getting warm etc. Those birds really make it unnecessary to carry and alarm clock don’t they. Both granddaughters went ziplining andenjoyed that. It was an excellent time in Maui.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. Not only is it beautifully furnished and decorated, but it has all the little touches (from well appointed kitchen and terrific master bathroom to beach towels and tennis rackets) that make it feel “home”. The complex itself and the beach across the way are fantastic as well. We’ve loved our stay on Maui and will definitely come back.

Hi Teresa, We had a wonderful trip, what a beautiful island! We saw a lot of great things, we will never forget! The accommodations at your condo were very comfortable, and suited our family well. We found it very quiet, relaxing and well equipped with everything to make the stay very enjoyable. Also, the renovations to the upstairs especially, were very nicely done.. Dear Chuck and Teresa…thank you again for sharing your “vacation” home with our family of 5. Your condo was above our expectations – clean, spacious, well equipped, and close to the important things (Beach, BBQ and Pool). The convenient parking was another plus. It was nice to stroll down to the beach for early morning swims, and sunset drinks. Some highlights were snorkelling at Po’olenalena Beach (close to Makena), Nakalele Blowhole, Haleakala Crater, the town of Pa’ia (Maui’s Tofino). A great book to invest in before going is “Maui Revealed” by Andrew Doughty, it is truly the Ultimate Guide Book with lots of great tips you wont find in most travel books. Thanks Again!!

This condo is everything and more that the owner said it was. The condo was very clean and spacious had everything we needed right down to beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler to take to the beach it indeed was a home away from home. Hale Kamaole is directly across the street from a beautiful beach so no driving it also has two great pools. We were so impressed with the grounds at the condo, beautiful gardens and again so clean. Hale Kamaole is a five min walk from great restaurants, shops and several other beaches. Would we recommend the Hale Kamaole property 64376 to others well. Hello!! Well I have to say that I am ready to catch the next flight back to Maui! We are totally hooked now! We had an amazing time and loved staying in your home. We hope to have dates for a our next trip(for next year) set soon and will be contacting you to see if your condo is available. We really loved it. And it is in a good location! We really liked that side of the island. We spent a lot of time at Polo Beach. It was nice and quiet and we could snorkel there. The whales were amazing and even saw some turtles right off shore. It was a great trip all in all! Unfortunately, it rained on the wedding day...but cleared just long enough for the ceremony and then rained again. But as they all say...rain on a wedding is good luck! :-) Anyway, wanted to say thank you so much for the wonderful place to stay. We did not get to meet you in person...but maybe next time. By the way...My husband really enjoyed hanging out at the BBQ's chatting with all the guys at dinnertime. It was nice for him because he was stuck with all us girls for the week...so he got to enjoy a little guy time. :-)

Easy access for parking and to the pool and BBQ area, make sure buy food to barbecue. Nice remodel of the master bathroom. You will get a little work out going up and down stairs if using the master bedroom. The unit can sleep 6 adults nicely, bring your friends.

My family and I had a wonderful time in Maui! This was our first time renting a condo versus always staying at a hotel. With twin 3 year old girls and parents, the loft was an added bonus. Lets not forget the spacious living/dining room. There is a fully equipped kitchen that we used to make breakfast and prepared our picnic lunches everyday to cut down on the cost. That way we can spend more money on dinner and for those oh so delicious shave ice! The condo location is perfect, right on the beach and easy access to go around the island. I did enjoy morning walks on a trail by the beach. I even saw a whale on my hike! Must Do List 1. Stay at this condo! Great place and well worth every penny and then some. Well priced for all the extra perks, such as, location and all the beach chairs, towels, etc. 2. Shave Ice in Kalama Village on S. Kehei and order all the yummy goodness (ice cream, mochi, etc.) 3. Grand Wailea Luau (only if you like Vegas and not so authentic Luau, which my parents loved but I think cuz they love VEGAS… LOL) 4. Drive to Hana (might as well go all the way around, don’t turn around because you will miss the sun setting as you race around the east/south part of the island. Oh but this isn’t for the faint hearted people. I think my parents almost had several heart attacks as we drove on the one lane road which was suppose to for a two-way road!) 5. Snorkeling at Molokini (go on the Four Winds II, cuz the captain is absolutely hilarious and you will have a blast, great for the young and old) 6. Did I mention the Shave Ice… yup it is that good!!!! I had one almost every day! 7. Go to the beach in Front of the Maui Prince. It is beautiful, less crowded, bathroom facilities, and has shade. 8. Okay… yes the Shave Ice again!

This was my 3rd stay at your lovely home in Maui this past October. The condo, as always, was immaculate, nicely appointed, well-stocked, and very comfortable. We love the new look of the living room and the master suite – especially the beautiful master bathroom. As always, you have thought of every detail. The lanai was perfect for watching great sunrises with a cup of island-grown coffee and planning our adventures on the island. This year we took a farm tour and lunch at O’o Farms, ukulele festival at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, and watched the windsurfers at Kanaha Beach. We ate at our favorite places - Kihei Caffe and Paia Fish Market. But we also discovered new favorites including Star Noodle in Lahaina and Ono Gelato in Paia and Kihei. And after each perfect day, it was nice to come home, relax, and watch the sunset, with a glass of wine on the lanai. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back.

Just looking at the photos on this site makes me want to go back NOW. The condo was super-comfortable, clean, well stocked, and provided a great view of the West Maui Mountains. The master bath has recently been beautifully updated. Parking is convenient, unless you have a problem with stairs; if you do, this two-story condo might not be right for you anyway. The complex offers a good variety of amenities from swimming to tennis to barbeque pits, if you want to stay close to "home." A very nice beach park is located right across South Kihei Road and I got some spectacular sunset photos there. Even got some good ones from the condo parking space =0) Kihei offers a wide variety of good restaurants, ranging from burgers to fine dining, and shopping opportunities are great. The condo's location at the south end of Kihei also makes for a short drive to Wailea and Makena, if you're looking for more upscale dining and shopping. To sum up, I'd definitely stay here again...in fact, I wish I could leave tomorrow!

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a really lovely codo in a great condo complex, steps to the beach with 2 beautiful pools, spotless grounds, and a really convenient grill right outside, where everyone gathers to cook dinner and celebrate the sunset. Perfect layout for a family with kids, with 2 master suites plus a sleeping loft with 2 beds - our family was super comfortable here. Ceiling fans and a great cross breeze keep the place nice and cool, we never even turned on the A/C. Very central location close to a very perfect beach for kids, snorkeling and relaxing, with a big grassy area as well as soft sandy areas, and big trees provide shade for much of the morning. We explored around the island from Hana to Lahaina, and were always happy to get back to the condo and relax after a fun-filled day - we will definitely be back!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I was so pleased with the condo and location - just perfect for families with smaller kids. Hale Kamaole 3 is undoubtedly the best family beach in Maui. The natural shape of the shore & reef creates a protected pool for smaller kids to swim in and shelters from bigger waves and the surf. The reef is also a perfect spot for snorkeling. Condo is very well appointed and contains everything one might need. Grounds are gorgeous and contain excellent facilities including great pools, barbecue area and tennis courts. All in all the condo contributed to our family having a perfect (and much needed) vacation!

Four of us stayed in you place this August. We could not be more satisfied with the accommodations. Conveneint to the Kamaole beaches, Wailea and Freds mexican restaurant. Your place was nicely appointed, kitchen well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We all would highly recommend your condo. Best of all, are dealings with you were in the spirit of Aloha.

My stay in Maui was wonderful. I was very comfortable in our home here. Thank you for all the little touches. I couldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing your home- we loved it. We have visited Maui several times and discover new treasures each time. A new restaurant opened just down the street - 808 Bistro - it's fabulous.

Our stay in your island home was great! A perfect place to celebrate our son's wedding. Everything was just perfect (except for we got rained out at our Luau). Everyone was in an island mood so we laughed as we ran for cover. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Dear Teresa and Chuck,We had such a lovely and relaxing time in your home. It was so wonderfully furnished and decorated. We felt so much at home. The beach and water were perfect. We started everyday at the beach.... Then each day was a new adventure. The weather was good for us a well. We had lunch and dinner at Stella Blues. On our day in Lahaina we ate lunch at Kimo’s. Fabulous view and food. I found a great store at the shops of Wailea that had a great selection of Koa wood items; Marin and MacArthurs. On the day we chose to visit Haleakala we at lunch at Mama’s Fish House on the north shore. It had a fabulous view, lots of surfers and the restaurant was very Hawaiian....Thank you for the magazines and all your suggestions. We can hardly wait to visit again.

We hate to leave such beauty here in Maui. It’s been a wonderful 10 days! We tried to see and do everything we could including Pearl Harbor. We survived the road to Hana, it’s beauty was worth the drive. After each day it was nice to return here to your lovely Maui home. Thank you for sharing. We came here for a beach wedding. James Franklin and Jordanna Copeland were married with the perfect sunset for a background. That was the highlight of the trip. The beaches were beautiful. I snorkeled for the first time. Everyone should go to a Luau here. We have many memories to carry with us that will last a lifetime. Thank you.We had a wonderful stay here in your lovely condo. My husband and I, 2 grandmothers, and once aunt came to see our son’s marriage. He and his bride chose a traditional Hawaiian wedding ceremony on the each at sunset. It was moving and beautiful. What a great beginning to their married life. Of course we also saw as many of the Maui sites as possible. We all loved the scenic Hana Highway drive and the Poli Poli forest area. We splurged on a dinner at the Waterfront Restaurant. The fist was heavenly and our waiter made the best Caesar salad at our tale. We leave with many beautiful memories of Maui.

Dear Teresa & Chuck,Where do I begin? Your condo is beautifully appointed; your master suite is magnificent! Your kitchen is well stocked; the whole place is so comfortable! We practically lived on the lanai. We loved the view and the cool breezes. Everything we did was amazing. Road to Hana, golfing, beaches, BBQ…. Never a disappointing meal at a restaurant. The submarine tour was definitely worth it. The Feast at LeLe was fantastic. Thank you!
