Our family of four--mom, dad, daughter, & son (ages 13 & 12) plus beagle just spent a great week in Ludington at Tom's house. House had all we needed and then some--full kitchen, laundry, & lots of goodies in the garage to help out (beach chairs & dog tie-out, which we forgot). Be sure to read guest book in house as we got many good tips from there. For dogs, head to Buttersville Beach--dog friendly, beautiful, & right on Lake Michigan (20-min. drive from house). We enjoyed hiking at Ludington State Park, canoeing & fishing on Hamlin Lake. Visited Stearns Beach for great sunsets (Ludington's city beach), quaint town of Pentwater, & Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Shopped & went to Friday night street fair in downton Ludington. Rented movies & had campfire at night at the house. Mini golf & go carts in Ludington, too. Great location and a nice "home away from home." Thanks, Tom!

Thanks for the nice cottage! The leaves were in all their colorful glory in Ludington State park. We hiked for 3 days and also drove down to Silver Lake dunes and lighthouse. We hope to return!

We had a wonderful time once again. This year the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Fishing was good. Landed 31 of 51 salmon that got on the line. Your cottage is perfect for a family outing. Thanks again for opening your home to us!

We just returned from 8 days in this beautiful cottage. We've been vacationing in Ludington for many years, but just found this - and have already made plans to return in the fall. The home is great - very clean, furnished with everything you need, and the homeowner is very nice to work with. We enjoyed a relaxing week of fishing and can't wait to return. Much more comfortable than a tiny cabin on the lake - we would definitely recommend it! Thanks, Tom.

I would like to say that we have stayed here for two years now and we have already booked for this year. This is the perfect place to come and really vacation. Owner response:I did in fact accept a reservation from this guest 6 months ago based on his telling me he would get back to me to confirm the July 2008 dates, which he did not do. When getting other inquires for July 2008 I contacted him by email more than once trying to reconfirm without getting a reply. Possibly because the email address on this negative rating (never supplied to me) is different than the email address that he used during July 2007 to book and post a positive rating for the home. This was not intentional. This guest treated the home with great respect. I would have been more than happy to have them return except for this mix-up.

We never realized the natural beauty that exists so close to home. Lake Michigan, Hamlin Lake, and the surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful, and the sunsets are astounding. If you love the Hamlin Lake area but are tired of staying in dinky little cabins, then this house is for you! Very clean, plenty of space and close to all of the action. We had a great time!

We had a wonderful experience staying in the Northern Comfort Cottage. This clean, cozy, cottage is very convenient to all Ludington attractions. We especially liked the comfortable beds and the opportunity to bring our fur friends. They love hiking in the Ludington State Park. We definately would stay again!

We had a wonderful time in this very clean, cozy cabin with our 8 month old child and dog. It's only minutes away from the state park dunes where we went to hike and watch the salmon come up the river. The bonus was the lounge area where you can sit and relax without worrying about bugs because it's all screened in. We hope to return again next summer.
