We are back from vacationing at your condo 1A in Kolea. Just a quick note to let you know that we loved the condo. It was beautifully laid out and we really enjoyed sitting on the lanai. We found the condo to be well appointed, comfortable (especially the king and queen beds), and very spacious. We enjoyed the welcome basket as we arrived very late - how thoughtful - thank you. Jennifer - the information you provided was very helpful as well as the suggestion on the book (the Big Island revealed). We literally ran out of time to explore it all in one week. Having the pool and beach so close was a terrific addition with two kids in tow. We had an opportunity to visit the volcano, travel underwater in a submarine and attend a lu'au. All in all we had a wonderful vacation with great weather. We will be returning for a longer vacation very soon. Mahalo!

I highly recommend Kolea 1A. It was everything that we wanted and more for our 10 day vacation in May 2009. The lovely, upscale unit was well stocked and spacious, even with 3 couples plus kids! Everyone in our party loved our stay in Kolea 1A and enjoyed the comfortable furnishings, cleanliness and big grassy yard. The kids were outside playing first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The big yard and quiet end location made up for the lack of an ocean view. Being close to the beach was a must for us. It's only a short 1 minute stroll to the pool with the beach just beyond it. Awesome for morning or afternoon walks to visit the sea turtles. A-bay is a usually calm, clear beach with good snorkeling. Too bad the weather made the water cloudy for a few days of our stay. Thank you to the owners and management company for providing a wonderful vacation home and doing all they can to make our stay enjoyable. Kolea really is the best complex on the Kohala coast and 1A was perfect for our family.

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Kolea Resort, specifically 1A. The condo is located in a perfect location for beach and pool as well as being beautifully appointed with furnishings and kitchenware. It was a pleasure doing business with the owners and resort managers.

We just want to say that our two week stay at Kolea villa 1A was very enjoyable. We had our adult children and two granddaughters with us. It was the perfect location for a holiday to remember. the unit was excellent and had everything we needed and more. the location is perfect as the beach is a five minute walk and Hapuna beach is close by. For the price of two hotel rooms we were able to holiday together in the villa. thanks again for the many good holiday memories. the McDonalds

We all wished that we could stay longer. We had a wonderful time at Kolea 1A. The unit, the ground, the pool, the easy access to the beach and A-bay, the snorkeling, .... are all perfect!!! We would love to go back again.

What a wonderful experience we had staying in Kolea 1A! Your condo exceeded our expectations and was definately first class, 5-Star luxury. The grounds are also beautifully maintained, as is the pool area. The fact that the beach is directly in front of the condos is an added plus as the " 30-something kids" could snorkle, rent a kayak, etc. whenever they felt like it! We walked to the Hilton and the Marriott along the beach for added variety and entertainment. A perfect location, a perfect place to stay, and a wonderful vacation for everyone! Loved it!!

Bruce, Mark: I can't thank you enough for sharing your wonderful garden villa with us on our recent vacation in Hawaii. Your villa is an extraordinary place. My family and I have vacationed in many locations throughout the country and nothing anywhere comes close to your villa. It exceeded our expectations. The only down side was that your villa made what would otherwise had been lovely accomodiations in Kapalua, Maui seem ordinary. The wine delivered by Mark added a touch of elegiance not seen elsewhere. Our next trip to Hawaii will be spent entirely on the island of Hawaii while staying in your villa. Nothing else anywhere could match up to this lovely accommodiations. Thank you again for sharing it with us.

The only negative of renting at Kolea was sadly having to leave the lovely villa. Thanks Mark and Harry for sharing your wonderful retreat. The villa includes all the needed neccessities and then some. Having rented in the Waikoloa resort for many years, nothing comes close to the level of comfort and luxury. The wifi was an added plus for the teenager in the family. As I write this comment on our last night at Kolea, I am sure we will return again. Thanks again to the owners for the attention to the details both through phone conversations and in the villa. It's been a pleasure

My family and I had the time of our lives and felt so luxurious in this wonderful garden villa. Everything is top notch and as my 6 year old grandson said to me on the flight home " Grandma I loved this vacation so bad !!!" That really expressed our feelings . What an extraordinary place. Everything in your aparmtent exceeded our expectations. We even enjoyed amazing fireworks on tuesday evening from our balkony, after having a BBQ with a spectacular sunset. Even Australian wines were catered for by the owner. Ten out of ten for a very enjoyable week. We will definitely come back.

Mark, Thank you again for opening your Villa up to our family. The accomodations were absolutely 2nd to none - including the bottle of wine that you dropped by on your visit. Again, many thanks. We enjoyed 8 perfect days of sunshine along with one day of monsoon conditions (worst in 5 years according to one local), and we made memories that will never be forgotten. The volcano was incredible. Mauna Kea and Hapuna beaches were incredible. Snorkeling all over the island was incredible. And the Mauna Kea golf course was... shall I say? Incredible. To all reading this message: The Saturday buffet on the beach at the Four Seasons is totally worth the extra money ($$$$). That was a very special dinner to wrap up a special, special trip. We have just returned from a 10 day stay at your beautiful condo. Thank you so much for sharing this great place with us, and charging what I think is a very fair price. Everything was great and exceeded our expectation. It is very nice how carefully you decorated the place, making it like a home and not a rental unit. We were concerned about the ongoing construction, but it was no problem at all, if anyone has any concerns about that please feel free to contact me.All in all we LOVED the location, loved the grounds, loved the condo, used everything and are now just looking for excuse to return. Hawaii is a wonderful place and when you stay in a wonderful condo like yours, just makes it better. Thank you again.

The villa is absoulutey gorgeous. Everything is 1st class. We loved being on the ground level since we had three babies. Perfect location for shopping, pool, beach and golf. We played at the Beach Course, Kings Course and Hapuna. We took the glass-bottom boat cruise. Thank you for that freebie. Our captain actually saved a drowning snorkeler. Added to the excitment!

My group visited Kolea in Oct. for 12 days. We were 2 old grandmas, 2 teenagers, and a youg family with 2 little girls. This location was perfect for all of our age groups. Next to shpping, a great pool & good beach, we kept evryone entertained. The condo is especially lovely and breakfast on the patio refreshes ones spirit.

Stayed here Oct.1 - Oct.4 2005 My family loved it. The unit was very large, really nice and very upscale. Everything was clean and new, beautiful furnishings. Pool area was very nice, the beach was close and clean. You can walk to everything in the resort area. The management people and the owner were great to work with. We were very pleased.
