Located on the highest point within the gated community of Kapoho Beach Lots, the Pool House is surrounded by fruit trees, palms, hibiscus and has its own private in ground swimming pool. Because of our unique location on the Southeastern-most tip of the Big Island, you will likely experience delightful trade winds in the afternoon and rain at night. And according to scientists, it has the freshest air in the world.
Kapoho Beach Pool House has two units: Recently painted and new floor installed (8/2010), the upper unit has three bedrooms (two queens and one twin set of beds), two baths, a dining area off the kitchen, a breakfast bar and a large covered lanai and a wrap around deck for full sun or shade. An expansive ocean view and a view of the pool is impressive.
The lower unit has recently (7/11/2011) had new flooring and fresh paint installed. It has two bedrooms and two baths and is wheel chair accessible. The Indoor staircase can be utilized to combine both units.
Perfect for large groups. With a fold out mattress, the rental can accommodate up to 11 people plus a baby. (ask for crib ahead of time). Both units have kitchens, separate dining areas, and large covered lanais. Kapoho Beach Pool House is within walking distance , about 3 blocks, of several accesses to the ocean for convenient snorkeling and swimming. It's only a few minutes walk to Champagne pond; the crystal clear geothermally heated tidal pool pictured in “Big Island Revealed” and other noted travel guides. Swim and snorkel with the green sea turtles!
Quaint Pahoa Town, about ten miles away, has a number of great ethnic restaurants, old board sidewalks, and small boutiques, markets, and banks with ATM machines.
It's close to the newest lava flow viewing site - only about 20 minutes drive - come see what Pele, the Goddess of Fire is producing. Also close to clothing optional, beautiful black sand Kehena Beach and picturesque "Red Road". Surfing and boogie boarding at Isaac Hale and Pohoiki Bay about 5 miles away. You can also see the best snorkeling this side of the island produces at the Waiopae tidepools just a mile away.
Note: Owner lives next door in a separate house with her dogs.

What a wonderful home. We loved every minute of our two weeks at Pri's home. Her and her niece Louise were excellent neighbors we didn't even know they were next door. The pool was beautiful and the area could not have been better. Champagne pond is an amazing place to snorkel with green turtles, multitudes of fish and eels. It is warm and everyone we met there was friendly and welcoming. The managment company was great thank you Jonnie we will be back. The town of Pohoa is fun the farmers market is a great place to buy local vegies and fruit as well as goodies to take back to family and friends. I would greatly recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful location and place to stay with family and friends. Louise the niece of the owner made us dried papaya for our journey home it was excellent thank you so much.

House is great! Comfortable and the owner is right next door and very friendly. The only thing is that it you have to drive to the beach. It's a very short drive, but it would have been nice to walk there. Other than that my trip was great!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

i rented this house for my babys 1st birthday to have a small pool party and i was very disappointed with the condition the place was dirty and they had construction equipment all over the deck the pool was dirty and toads kept getting in the pool!?! there was dog poop everywhere we walked.we had no privacy the owner lives 10 feet away.now for sleeping conditions the beds were very small and very hard my kids kept gettting up crying i couldnt sleep at all. and if you do want to stay here warning!! the upstair level stairs are very steep and long all my guest for the party wouldnt go up they rather sit outside and it was not fun carry our bags up there. now the owner left the place all unlocked did not give me a key to lock up she didnt provide good cutomer service at all and when i went to pay her she didnt have any written recipt instructions NOTHING i had to ask for it. she never even paid attention to my name or who we were yes it was really not professtional at all . one thing for sure is that house was alot cleaner after we left. and this was the first vacation that i couldnt wait to leave. oh and you do have to bring your own towels they were suppose to be provide for us but 3 was all they had.on the good side of the trip the kids enjoyed swimming after the toads got scooped out!?! but really thats it! the whole trip was a big BUMMER!!
Owner response:The Kapoho Beach Pool House is now under new management. All of these issues have been addressed. The pool and grounds are being maintained by professionals, locks are being installed on the doors, the cleaning is checked prior to check in and the cleaning service and manager is available to address any issues. More towels are being provided. Plus, the outside has been recently painted. The interior is getting a facelift as well!
