Visit the Blueridge Mountains and the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail. 30 minutes from numerous wineries on the Wine Trail. After a day of "wining" give yourself a little TLC in our secluded mountain chalet off Marker 234, center of the Blueridge Parkway on Bullhead Mountain. Situated on 25 acres amidst nature at its finest with great views, nature walks, wildlife and peace and quiet. The chalet offers a loft bedroom with two double beds, a sleeper sofa in the living area below, full kitchen, dining area and full bath. A wrap-around deck offers great views, deer and turkey sightings and a place just to relax. Cook out on the deck with the gas grill or in our garden patio with the charcoal grill while you enjoy the view and a bottle of wine from the patio swing.
If the weather is unusually hot, the air conditioning unit and ceiling fans will soon comfort you. For your entertainment, a satellite dish TV, DVD, stereo and satellite radio can get you caught up on your favorite music or movies. Very secluded and a great couples get-away.

We have been returning to Turkey Hill chalet for the last 3-4 yrs. The setting is private and peaceful; the grounds spacious and safe for our small dog. The cabin is secluded,yet 10 mins from downtown Sparta and 5 mins to the Parkway. The Fiddler's convention and the county fair are two of many events in Sparta. Long range views reach into Virginia, short range views reveal turkey and deer. The cabin is cozy and well-provisioned; the owner very accommodating. We look foreward to future stays at Turkey Hill.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers.

The road is gravel but well maintained. The property is exactly as described and well worth the trip. The long range view from the deck is amazing. My wife and I enjoyed a week of stress free, quiet relaxation. We watched a small herd of deer every evening come out into the clearing to graze. I would definitely reccomend this for a couples getaway or anyone wanting a quiet retreat from everyday life. All you have to take is your clothes and food. Everything else is already there.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The cabin was clean, comfortable and provided wonderful views. You do have to travel on a gravel road so an SUV would be recommended over a car, if possible. This cabin would not be appropriate for those that would have difficulty climbing up and down from a loft, or couples with small children. However, if you are not in those categories, it is a wonderful getaway. We especially enjoyed canoeing down the New River. We hope to return again in the future.
Owner response:The house is advertised as a couple's getaway and also states it is not recommended for children. It is a great place for couples. It is secluded and does have a gravel road, but I have driven my Lexus in many times without a problem.
