The front wall of this spacious condo has TOP to BOTTOM GLASS, making this condo bright and sunny
and giving you breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. You can also see
the famous shore lines along Wailea and Makena Beach. Being on the Top floor allows for UNOBSTRUCTED privacy throughout the whole unit.
While relaxing on the completely private lanai (patio), you can take in magnificent sun rises or sun sets
or watch surfers catching their first wave.
From November through April you can witness the awesome sight of humpback whales frolicking in the ocean.

Our spacious unit offers all the convenience of a truly exceptional location, by being near many of
Maui’s most scenic, white, sandy Beaches.
Kamaole Beach I is only one block away and is known for X-tra wide and sandy shorelines,
gentle surf and the least crowded. (Ranked as one of the top family beaches on Maui with no undercurrent
or rocks for you to worry about)
There is plenty of room for playing in the sand, sunbathing, read a book and still have some privacy.
It is perfect for swimming, boogie boarding or you can go surfing right across from the condo.
You can also snorkel along coastal reefs and find spectacular underwater creatures including the Green Sea Turtles,
right next to our condo or explore about 10 other famous snorkel beaches right near by.
Since this is a very small complex, (less then 10 vacation rental units) the pool is hardly ever used
and very often you will be the only one there.
Many of the best restaurants and shopping centers are ALL within walking distance!
Our unit is popular with wedding couples or guests, since it is very near the famous wedding resorts of
Wailea and Makena Beach. (5-10 min.)

Why the Owner Chose Island Surf
Soon we realized that the beaches along Kamaole are a great fit for our whole family. Our daughter loves to surf, so she goes a few block north and hangs ‘loose’ with locals and tourist alike. Sigi and his cousins love to boogie board, which is great to do at the north side of the beach near the condo in the afternoon.
I love the soft sand in and outside the water with no sharp corrals to worry about, so I can walk freely
along the beach o in the water if I like some extra resistant during my morning workout.
I can walk for hours all the way to Wailea and Makena and enjoy cooling ocean breeze and aromatic landscape and flowers along the way.
So we took the risk and invested in this beautiful condo right across from our favorite beaches.
Our dream is to one day (soon) to live there at least during the winter month and enjoy sunshine and warm temperatures, in the 8o's day in and day out.
We looked at many condos and decided on this one since it has undeniably one of the BEST unobstructed ocean views near our favorite beaches. We also like it sunny and bright INSIDE the unit and many floor plans have good views but are build very narrow and the rooms are extremely dark even during the daytime. WE LOVE the open floor plan of this condo, with top to bottom glass in front, it allows for the outdoors to come into the unit. Sometimes we just like to stay home and read a book or sun bathe in privacy and being up on the top floor allows for that.

1. We DON’T LIKE CROWDS!
Our condo is just far enough north, to be away from the huge timeshares and resorts, which makes ‘our’ beach the least crowded, with many empty sandy coves to explore.
2. We love CONVENIENCE.
The location of our condo allows us to walk to everything we need.
There is no need to deal with cars and parking, easy walking on sidewalks or along the beach gets us to everywhere. (No hills to worry about either.)
This is a great area, where besides the many popular beaches; we can explore many stores and restaurants, day and night. So everybody in our family is happy.
3. Our unit is not facing S. Kihei Rd. but you will still hear the street traffic during the day, but it does slows down at night time. And with the bedroom facing the back away from the street it will never bother you there..
We enjoy the safety of this building, as many of our neighbors are living here full time, and it allows us to get some inside scoop from the locals.

Aloha, this is Sigi and Dorli the proud owners! We are originally from Austria but call San Diego our ‘home base’ for almost 30 years now.

But with age we are craving warmer climate and gentler oceans and we fell in love with Maui about 12 years ago! We explored and investigate the island from every angle and discovered that the South Side, (South Kihei area) is ‘just what the doctor ordered.’ We can still find some secluded un-crowded beaches, with crystal clear water that allow us to snorkel all year long without getting cold in the water when following a turtle to its hiding place. But at the same time you can find all the comfort of a big city, from organic food stores , great local restaurant to anything you will ever need it’s all just within a few miles.
The water is calm and you can see the ground, which is SUPER important for me ?! (I need to know what I am stepping into) There are also no dangerous waves or undercurrent which allows me to enjoy the warm water without worrying for getting dragged out or thrown under. Yes I am proud to say that we have tried ALL the beaches. I have been cut up by corrals, thrown and swirled around by a surprising wave or dragged out by a current. It took me several weeks to make peace with Maui again, but we learned that the beaches near the condo are positively 100% the best and worry free for the whole family. To Sigi’s delight he can leave me there alone and enjoy his AM or PM nap while I frolic in the water. He doesn’t miss the harsh awakening of my screams when I had to be rescued or his unsuccessful searches for my lost snorkeling mask or watch that got ripped off in my surprise ‘attack’ from behind. I know I sound like an inexperience little lost soul, but I am an early retired PE teacher and consider myself in the ‘prime shape’ of my life, but some beaches are just not as nice in as shown on the pictures and I have the scars to prove it. (and many stories from others.)

I usually don't write reviews, but this time I have to make an exception. I had the tickets for this wonderful place to go with my mother but I left that "small issue" of getting a place for the last minute. A friend of mine recommended me vrbo and I checked several places. Finally I found Dorli's place and I decided to give it a try. It had one of the best prices and all that I needed. Two sleeping places (a bed and a couch) I wanted to give my mom some space to enjoy after her long trip to visit me (she came all the way from Europe!). What can I say, Dorli changed their family plans -as they were going to go this place- and made me an offer I could not refuse. The place is clean, top floor, and have beautiful views to the ocean. We enjoyed several sunsets from there, reading a book seating in the terrace. I had a very small problem with the lock that I talked to Dorli over email. The communication was perfect and very fast and we agree on a solution that worked. We barely used the house except for sleeping and breakfast, but definitely it had all that we needed. Unbeatable in that price range.

Aloha, We had two fantastic weeks at this fabulous condo. The proximity of the condo to the beach, stores and easy access to the highway made our stay even more enjoyable. There is everything in the condo you could ask for! Of course we had to buy the food.The condo is quiet, and in the morning you can enjoy the view of the surfers while having your morning cup of coffee. Everything was just perfecto! Mahalo Dorli! We had aniother wonderful time in Maui,thanks to Dorli;s condo. The condo is in a great location.Although we had a car and we toured the whole island we would walk to the store or shopping most nights as the weather is always great. it is in a great location for the beach as well,four beaches are very close. We will be returning again in the future and look forward to the great full veiw of the ocean. We came back home and blew up one of our photos for the lanai and hung it our our wall ,just beautiful.. Al lthings are in the condo as well ,we especialy enjoyed the beach supplies. Thanks again Dorli Frank and Jane --Cananda

This was our 2nd trip to Maui...we very much enjoyed our stay at this Condo. It was perfect for us, we don't care about being at a fancy resort or having a fabulous pool - we want to enjoy Maui & it's beautiful beaches. Waking up every morning and seeing the Spectacular & mesmerizing view from this condo is hard to beat! This condo is very accomodating, comfortable & very clean. The king size bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in! We are planning to come back again next year! ~

We spent our honeymoon in Maui in this beautiful, clean and well located condo. It has everything you need: from the snorkeling gear, boogie boards, cooler, beach chairs and even the beach towels. The kitchen is well equiped. You will not be disappointed!

I once again stayed in Island Surf 609 in February 2010 for 2 weeks. This condo is your home away from home. First of all, the view from this condo is amazing as we can see whales playing in the ocean and watch the surfers in the waves across the street. Plus the sunsets from the comfortable lanai are amazing. We really appreciated the use of the beach chairs, boogie boards, and everything to make our days on the beaches great. The condo has a pool area that has BBQ's so you can make some fantastic meals. Inside the condo is everything you need as well - coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, pots & pans, George Forman Grill, and anything else you could need. It was also wonderful having a washing machine to keep our laundry done (bring your own soap and dryer sheets). There is air conditioning available but you don't need it, simply open up the windows (lanai sliding door too) and let the breeze come in. There are also fans to keep the air moving. It was wonderful having the convenience of wireless internet access and having a second t.v. in the bedroom. The king-sized bed is very comfortable. It really can be your home away from home and we are so lucky to have found this place. I highly recommend it.

Hi Dorli, I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful Condo. We will never forget that view. Also we appreciated the extra conveniences like the peroxide for scrapes, snorkeling and beach equipment. It was funny after the initial night we used the AC and then maybe one other time.
