At the Lazy Moose Cabin you'll find yourself embraced by the beautiful wilderness of the Chequamegon National Forest. Get back to nature, and leave the hustle of everyday life behind. There is a whole host of outdoor activities waiting at your door step here in Northwestern Wisconsin.
Enjoy 200 feet of wilderness shoreline - ALL ALONE! Throw a line off your own, private dock or jump in the fishing boat provided and fish a Class A Musky Lake for Muskie, Panfish, Walleye or Smallmouth. In the winter, that shoreline provides direct access to over 500 miles of beautiful snowmobile trails. A public landing is available just across the lake, at Louie's Landing, for a $5 donation.
Moose Lake is the perfect lake for a quick ski in the main lake or a nice swim, to cool off on those hot summer days. The view from your own wrap around deck, is absolutely pristine. You'll want to stretch out for an afternoon nap or have that sunny afternoon barbecue.

My family and dog stayed at the cabin in mid-July and had a wonderful time. It was great being able to have the dog with us, and the house is plenty big for all five of us. It was right on the lake, and we rented a motor and fished, though without much success. The photos are accurate, the house was very clean and well maintained, the owners had just left and therefore even left us handwritten notes about garbage pickup, etc. It was a little hike into town to see the attractions and go to restaurants and stores, but that we part of the charm of it - it was enough off the beaten path to be restful and quiet. We had a great time at the Musky museum, and the fish fry across the lake, and just hanging out together for some family time. The only drawback was the fishing, but it was a hot week, and they weren't biting for anyone. I'd highly recommend the cabin, and we've thought about going back another time ourselves.
Recommended for:Pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Our family has enjoyed this vacation retreat for several years and have enjoyed both the home and the surrounding area. The cabin is always clean with plenty of amenties with Moose Lake being great to swim and fish. A short day trip to Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands is always a real treat not to mention the "shop to you drop" shpping excursions to nearby Hayward with all it history. John and Barbara Post
