A Wonderful Family Vacation

This was a great property and location for our family vacation this summer. The open design was wonderful for great conversations among those of us in the kitchen, dining area, and living room. As the oldest in our clan, we appreciated being able to retreat into the master suite while others could enjoy staying up late in the front living room area. We all enjoyed sharing family stories out on the front deck in the late afternoons and early evenings. Our daughter taught us how to make sand paintings on the beach, and we even made our own glass floats at a local studio. On our last evening together, my nephew and his son brought home fresh crab for an amazing farewell dinner. This was our first time using VRBO, and Nancy made everything so easy for us. Her thoughtfulness and great communication made this a wonderful family vacation.

Owner response:I like the master bedroom being at the end of the house, too! The deck is spacious and can accomodate several chairs. It is beautiful to watch the sunsets from the deck. Newport tends to clear-up around dusk. It sounds like you will have lasting family memories from this trip and I'm glad our home was able to be a part of those memories. We hope to see you in the future! For those larger gatherings you can rent both sides of the duplex, which would accomodate up to 14 people and give you 6 bedrooms.

Great, updated home

We stayed July 25-28, 2011 and we were very impressed with the updates and decor. It has everything you needed and was right across the street from the beach. We had a view of the sunset from the pcturesque front window on a very windy evening. It is within walking distance to a nice park where one of the lighthouses is located. There were games, sand pails and also a baby gate for the stairway to the garage. All you need is provided for you. Would definitely recommend it for families. Nancy was terrific to deal with, which is always a plus!

Owner response:Some of the best sunsets I have ever seen have been from the deck. Oregon has beautiful sunsets! I try to think of everything that a renter would want or need to be "at home" and comfortable, but I do listen to our renters when they have suggestions and usually get additional items for the duplex, such as hoses to wash the sand off your feet, a folding table and chairs for additional seating and the baby gates. This was such a great experience for our family. This was our first time using vacation by owner rentals and we were so pleased with the townhome when we arrived. Everything worked out as advertised. It was seamless. The property has all the comforts of home. The location is perfect and the beach is a very short walk across the street. On a scale of 1 to 10, it gets a 10! No doubt we'll be back! We think vacation rentals are so much more practical and economical, especially if you think about how many hotel rooms you would have to rent for the same amount of space, and you wouldn't have all the comforts of home as you mentioned. We agree with you that our home is in the PERFECT location in Newport, especially if you want to be close to the beach. You are within a few minutes of all the major attractions, Nye Beach, Historial Bay Front area, the Newport Aquarium, the lighthouses, shopping and site seeing. WOW, a 10!! We love to hear that. Amazing comfy-cozy, conveniently located beach house.

In July 2011 my sister, cousin and I stayed at this beach house with our husbands and young kids. Not only was the home amazingly comfortable and large enough to easily accommodate us all, it was very close to the beach and other fun things to do like the Newport Aquarium and Yaquina Head Lighthouse. We also found a fun toy store around the corner and a local farmer's market with amazing produce and crafts. The home is as cozy as it looks in the pictures and is practical too. Everything we might possibly have needed was provided and the washer and dryer, which ran almost non-stop worked great. I highly recommend this property.

I love our location, being close to Historical Nye Beach and to all the other wonderful sites that Newport has to offer. Our duplex is a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing or just being at the beach. We hope you can come back again soon. Just added a new piece of furniture to the master bedroom....an upholstered bench at the end of the bed, complete with throw pillows and afghan. Great for putting on your socks/shoes or just watching the TV in this room.

Great vacation home!

I would absolutely recommend this duplex to vacationers. The duplex was the perfect set-up. My family stayed in the one unit and friends of ours rented the other half of the duplex. We had a terrific time cooking, eating and spending time together. The beach was a short walk away and we were able to fly a kite and take nice walks. We also went crabbing, fishing, visited the awesome aquarium and The Rogue Brewery. The photos are great, but the home is even nicer in person. It is well-maintained and very comfortable. Nancy was a pleasure to deal with. She provided specific written instructions for check-in and check-out and also gave some personal recommendations for nearby attractions/ restaurants. In addition, she is easy to get in touch with and professional. We were more than satisfied with this duplex. Thanks!

Huge, inviting living room facing partial ocean views with lots of light and the open kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and stay engaged with the kids. Large flat screen television and comfy sofas welcome you after a day of sightseeing and fun at the beach. Convenient location to the beach entrance. Loads of room for everyone. The kids loved the bunk beds. The owner answered all our calls and questions in a timely manner and warmly. Thank you for everything.

When I initially booked this home, I thought it would just be "okay". But I was so pleasantly surprised at how great this house turned out to be! The photos don't do it justice; you can't tell how big the house is (it's larger than we thought it would be), or how well maintained it is. Nancy, the owner, was extremely kind and professional in every way; she was very thorough and a pleasure to speak with on the phone. The home was very easy to find and the location was really good, nestled between some of the best hotels in Newport. The home was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was easy to navigate and was even stocked with lots of necessities. I've stayed in many beach house rentals along the coast and this one definitely ranks among one of my best experiences.

Location Perfect

We walked on beach before breakfast, kayaked, strolled town and jumped right over the bridge to aquarium and brewery. Plenty of space and privacy for a couple and two single adults. High quality amenities and best stocked kitchen of any rental we've visited. When we had an error message with the alarm, friendly service/repair person was there in minutes. Owner Nancy was quick to reply to all our questions and gave valuable suggestions for the area. Friends who were staying in a nearby hotel were envious of the comfortable, quiet and spacious rental. Next time they want to do the same. With these two duplexes side-by-side, it's perfect for a group gathering. We'll be back.

We had a marvelous experience staying at this lovely beach home! It exceeded our expectations with the beautiful decor and all the comforts of home. Very clean and well maintained and the owner was a delight to rent from. We plan to return again and would highly recommend this property.

Owner response:We have decorated our duplex as if we lived there ourselves full time. I did not want to cut any corners when it came to decorating. Also keeping the exterior and interior clean is very important to us, so we make sure we have vendors do just that. We are really glad you had a great experience!
