Accommodation Description
This historic 100 year plus adobe home is situated on what many might call Santa Fe's most charming street. Casa Mariposa and Zia Combined boast the best East side location just one and a half blocks to Canyon Road and six blocks to the Plaza. Park your car and walk everywhere.
Mingle with local artist at the nearby coffee shop or brows what has been voted Santa Fe's best book store. Both less than a block from your home. Casa Mariposa and Zia Combined
is secluded and quiet in a peaceful residential neighborhood, yet so close to all the attractions.
Three baths, one with shower only. The master bedroom with a gorgeous hand carved Spanish head board has a king bed.
The second bedroom has a carved traditional bed frame queen bed. The room features a romantic traditional Kiva fireplace, wood floors and coved ceilings with vigas.
An additional separate small sunny room looking out to the back yard has a second sleeper sofa that is completely private.
The third bedroom is another master suite complete with its own kitchenette and gas burning fireplace.
All told there are 5 beds (including sleepers) and 5 separate sleeping spaces. There is a sleeper sofa in a spacious living room. This room allows all to gather comfortably. The windows look out to blooming fruit trees. Your eat-in kitchen with its Mexican tile counter tops, wooden floors and coved viga ceilings, as well as sky lights make for a perfect family gathering space. Step outside into your spacious and secluded back yard. Relax under a gorgeous old tree or join your friends for a barbecue. After a long day of seeing the sites unwind in your outdoor hot tub. This house, like all our homes, have the amenities of home including, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, Cable TV, dishwasher, hot tub, off street parking. Pets OK with permission of owner.

When traveling out west back in 1975 I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico incredible sky's and landscape. I found the people here especially back in '75 to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Kiva Casita. It is in a quiet location yet walking distant to the plaza and farmer's market. We even walked to and from Canyon Blvd. We found the casita to be clean and well appointed. It even has an expresso machine. We also appreciated the fact that there was washing soap and dryer sheets for the washing machine and dryer....as well as other essential supplies in the kitchen...salt, sugar, dish soap. The two full baths are usual when traveling with a teenager. She was very comfortable sleeping on the day bed in the "hallway". Our reservation request was promptly answered (we received a telephone call), same when we called with a simple question on our arrival and again when I emailed regarding a left-behind item. One of our favorite meals was at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. Enjoyed the opera and the tour of the state capital. However we were a little disappointed with the OKeefe Museum as it has a special exhibit and only a few OKeefe's on display. Loved the Spanish Market and Madrid.

We stayed with Two Casitas in the studio flat called ZIA. The recommendation came from a friend of mine that had stayed with Two Casitas repeatedly in the past. I really liked the change of pace of not having to check in at all - the key is made available to you in a lockbox so there is no waiting in line for check-in or check-out. This was a GREAT location on a small quiet street. We had parking right in front for our car but we enjoyed leaving the car and walking to dinner each night on Canyon road. It was also just 2 blocks from an excellent coffee shop. You are still a distance from downtown so we drove, but if you like to walk everywhere it would be easily accessible. The studio is compact but you have pretty much whatever you'd need. There are skylights in the kitchen & bathroom ceiling which helps to open up the small space, and everything was clean. I really enjoyed being able to experience this very cool neighborhood and what it may be like to live in a genuine adobe casita.
