We were looking to book a cabin on our recent trip with friends that would accommodate 4 adults and 2 toddlers, that was close to town, and reasonably priced. We found this cabin on line, read the reviews, and were excited with the recent update from the owners: Owner response:Thank you for candor. Coincidentally, we had a great SPRING CLEANING event this past weekend. 4/13/2013- We purchased lots of new things and repaired some small items that had been overused. We also purchased a new grill and it is being installed on 4/20/2013. It had been almost 8 months since we had the chance to see for ourselves how the cabin was doing....we immediately took action. The cabin is now looking amazing! Check it out for yourself ..... We checked in Thursday evening and were immediately surprised to see cobwebs hanging from the ceiling fan that looked like it had not been cleaned in a least a year, gummy bears that were stuck to the upstairs window seals (remind you that we have 2 toddlers running around), and an army of ants at the back door and in the kitchen. The shower head in the master bath was not fixed, there were still blinds missing from the back door, the screen door was just leaning up against the outside, and the grill that was supposed to be replaced on 04/20, as stated above, was not replaced. This was a selling point for us because we have friends that live in Gatlinburg and had invited them to the cabin for a cookout- all because of the "new grill". When we went to put our kids on the pull out couch for bed, the sheets had not been changed, and there were crumbs in them. So, for our 3 night stay, our toddlers got to sleep in the beds with us- this makes for a very long and uncomfortable vacation!!!! The best part is once the kids were asleep and we tried to relax in the hot tub we took the top off only to find that it had about 6 inches of water in the bottom. We called the property manager, Sheila, and her response was, "Oh yes, there is a leak...we thought we had that fixed!" I was furious. For what we payed, I would expect to NOT have to deal with all of these issues! On a side note...the bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, but for the amount of time we spent in them it was a mute point.Owner response: We are extremely disappointed with this review and with this guest who gave us no opportunity to make this right. They had our telephone number and they had our email. We never heard from them. We have sternly discussed these comments with the property manager. We have had this cabin since 2005 and pride ourselves with providing guests with a wonderful vacation! We have successfully done this time and time again. Our property manager was to purchase a grill 4-17-2013; however through a problem she encountered, has been delayed. Inexcusable and disappointing. Today, the hot tub has been repaired. Things happen outside of control, but we take these comments seriously and work very hard to repair and correct all issues. We continue to work hard to make stays comfortable and provide other options when things happen. However, we must know. We will correct all issues and demand corrections to anything not done by the property's manager.

We just stayed at Apples in the Mist and had an absolute wonderful time. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything you would need. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kids really enjoyed the pool table and "soccer" game (as they called it). The parking did not affect us, as the cabin next door was not rented. The drive down to town was short and easy. I would definitely recommend this cabin. We are already looking forward to coming back next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Cute and cozy cabin. Was great for a family of 4. Minor things need fixed: a few blinds missing on the upstairs balcony door, shower head in master bath needs cleaned/replaced, updated grill needed. If you don't want to spend a ton of money and have a nice place to stay, this is it. Grocery store is close by. Hot tub was clean.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Overall cabin was older but well kept. Bedrooms were clean. Living area was a little dirty. Sticky floors around pool table & dinning table was not cleaned. Parking was horrible, narrow and shared drive with the other cabin. There are 2 cabins that sleep 6 people and there is only room for two cars. I would recommend this for people staying with 1 small car looking for a nice cabin.Owner response: The guest who reserved this 3-night stay did not select this cabin. The wife advised that the husband's secretary booked it for them. As they were arriving and realized they were in the Arts and Crafts community and not in a secluded portion of the Smokies, they wanted to cancel. We advised that canceling 2 hours before their arrival would forfeit their funds. They reluctantly agreed to stay in lieu of the alternative. They were reluctant to stay and advised before even arriving that they would not be happy. A decision they should have addressed with the secretary and not us. We do advise there is one private parking. However, there is additional parking and large vehicle parking directly beneath the cabin. All our reviews on cleanliness have been excellent. Our property manager prides herself in ensuring this. This is obviously a disgruntled traveler because the secretary did not advise them of the area. Thank you for reading other reviews.

Our family stayed the week of 3/4 and even added an extra day to the trip! This cabin had everything a big family, such as mine, needs for the mountain get away! VERY clean! Very quiet! Great location! We even had the electric go out on us one night for about 4 hrs and we sat by the fireplace telling great family stories!!!! I would recommend this cabin to family and friends... One drawback was the parking, if you have a large vehicle as I do, parking space is very small, other than that is was great!!!!!!! Birthday boy!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family of 7 recently stayed at Apples in the Mist during our Gatlinburg vacation. The cabin was very clean and well maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. It is in a quiet location close to other cabins just a few minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, and roughly 25 mins to Pigeon Forge. The cabin comfortably accommodated us and our 5 boys, and during our down time we were kept entertained with the pool table, foosball table and hot tub. We had one snafu during our stay, which the owner quickly addressed. She was amazing to work with, and I would recommend this cabin to anyone. We would definitely stay there again if we ever go back! *On a side note, the only issue we had was with the parking. If you drive a large vehicle you may have trouble maneuvering in and out of your space if there is a vehicle at the cabin next door.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We just returned from a week long stay at Apples in the Mist and would go again in a minute! We were a large family (two adults plus three teenagers) but we found this cabin to have enough room for all, with plenty to keep everyone busy. My son loved the pool table and we all enjoyed the hot tub after our time hiking in the park. This cabin is just a few minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg and the entrance to the parks, and within walking distance to shops in th Arts & Crafts area. We really enjoyed taking a stroll down to the shops, or get ice cream, a smoothie, etc. There is a grocery store (Food City) very close to the cabin as well, and we enjoyed eating in most nights, making use of the kitchen and grill on the desk (hooked to propane - nice!). The cabin was very clean AND pet friendly...and was an excellent value for the money. Owners were very responsive to every email we sent. Why stay in a hotel when you can have the same amentities (plus a few more) for the same price per night??Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The cabin was awesomely perfect!! A family trip 2 adults and 2 kids, cabin was easily located with our GPS, roadway was well paved and easily accessible. Parking is for One car, but it is a relatively close place for another car. 25 min drive to Pigeon Forge but only about 15 to Gatlinburg so it was secluded , but thats what we loved. VERY clean and well stocked, I clean houses for a living and its rated at a 10 for cleanliness. Jacuzzi was Perfect for relaxing and massages lol :) Hot Tub was clean and warm for evening relaxations:) Kitchen has nearly everything you could possibly need including a blender and mixer and enough ice to get started:) Although I took toilet paper/paper towels and cleaning supplies there was plenty there. Pool table and games were great entertainment for the kids, The downstairs T.V.'s will not hook to video games but the upstairs one will. The beds were very comfy and clean No need to take any linens Plenty of pillows and blankets. I highly recommend this property Owners and manager are Super great to deal with. It was a great relaxing place to share many memories for our family:)Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
