Great location and fabulous view. We would definately stay there again. We also really appreciated the comfortable recliner chairs in the living room. Great snorkeling right outside the door.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 11 days in December 2011. As Chuck describes, this unit juts out toward the ocean more than the other units in the complex to give totally unobstructed views. From our lanai we watched the sunrise AND the sunset with nothing but ocean in between. Absolutely spectacular. Chuck called us to make sure everything was okay... and it was. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc. Everything in excellent working order. The couch was replaced with a loveseat and another recliner added. My wife called them the "man-chairs" (meaning: they were soooo comfortable. We would love to stay in this unit again. Thanks Chuck!
Owner response:Mahalo. To all who have submitted reviews and to all who have stayed in the condo, have a great Holiday Season.

Spent a week at this lovely locations. Watched sea turtles and manta rays from the condo. Surfers and snorkelers a plenty within steps! Lovely sunsets! Beach House restaurant next door! Other locations nearby that we visited - Brennekes Beach Broiler, Joe's on the Green, Kiahuna Golf Course, Kalapaki Joe's, Poipu Bay Golf Course.....everything is so close. Also drove up to Princeville and Hanalei area - beautiful all over the island! Comfortable condo, beds were comfortable, views could not be beat!!

My Daughters reaction when we first walked in says it all - "WOW". She was reacting to the view from the door and the very comfortable feeling you get here. VRBO # 64823 has it all, from its location that is close to everything you would ever want to do in Kauai, a very relaxed location, and views that make it all worth it! Chuck is a great host and very acommodating and I would definitely recomend this place to any traveler looking for a great location to rest, relax, and have a great time!

We arrived on Kauai looking forward to enjoyable times on the island and we were not disappointed. This condo with it's location, view of the water and recent updates greatly helped make our stay very enjoyable. The view of the water with the surfers doing there thing, the sound of the waves and the sunsets were great, but the new kitchen cabinets, the new bed and the interesting addition of wood flooring in the master bedroom were touches that we truly enjoyed. A particular gripe that I have had in the past with other condos was the poor quality of cooking utensils and dishware. The nonstick pans were actually nonstick and the coffee cups were just my style. Small things but they add that special touch and showed me that there is a true pride of ownership in this condo. While this was a onetime visit to Kauai we would gladly rent this unit if we were to return.

Upon our arrival at our condo, we had no idea how awestruck we would be. Upon entering, before our eyes was an expansive wall windows presenting to us a field of roaring waves crashing on black basalt rock. The shore not more than thirty feet below and in front of us, we were nearly engulfed in the drama of tossing sea. Surround sound filled the apartment with the shouts of rushing waters and blue sky in full screen frontal assault. It rivaled any IMAX theatre in scope and depth. I stared and listened in complete attention and wonder. This scene contained living things, all moving with the rhythm of waves and the pull of the moon on its strings. It sings. I grasped, "It has been made to continually echo varied scales of praise to God, the Creator. His love and perfection moved before us in fascinating pulsing motion. Long before this scene was marred by the footprints of man, this living breathing song belonged to Him. I wanted to read about this more. Not even thinking of whom to "google", I went to open the Bible. It was Isaiah's voice I thought could give me what I desired to hear. I turned toward Isaiah 40 knowing what great thoughts about the universe were contained there. What better place to start? As has happened graciously at other times, when I hoped God would talk and I would listen, the pages gave its urge right before my eyes. Isaiah 42:10 "Sing to the Lord a new song, HIs praises from the end of the earth! Let the sea roar and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants." "From the end of the earth" ... Than here, where else could be farther from the billions of mankind? I learned that the first humans on Kauai did not arrive until 200 - 800 A.D. The inhabitants of all that is in the sea and along the coastline have been singing for countless generations before the first voice of the first son of man ever came to join its chorus. He truly fills the earth with a melodious wistful roar!

Our family had such a wonderful time snorkeling with the fish and turtles in "Turtle Town" just out and to the left of our unit. The last morning saw several whales spout from our lanai. I could see why the person in another unit had a telescope! Clean rooms and the view is spectacular! Enjoy!

We had a very relaxing and wonderful time!! The condo was well and beautifully furninshed. Loved listening to the waves. I snorkeled almost everyday in the cove and in front of the condo. There were turtles and colorful fish everywhere. We sighted many whales further out in the ocean which was amazing to be able to see. The complex is very clean and quiet. We could not have asked for more from this condo. The owner was wonderful to work with. Can't wait to go back!!

We have stayed here on two separate occasions. The first time we considered ourselves lucky and the second time we were not disappointed. The views and amenities from the condo are so great you never want to eat out. You would be hard pressed to find a better view from any of the nearby restaurants... not to mention the money you would be saving. When we find ourselves returning to Kauai we will definitely want to come back to this location and condo.

We spent Thanksgiving here and loved it. The condo is clean, well equipped , extremely comfortable beds and the views are spectacular. To be honest the photos hardly do the views justice. The lanai is a great place to watch the sunrise, sunset , surfers and the turtles. The owner was extremely helpful and called us while we were there to make sure everything was okay. We would have no hesitation in recommending this condo.

The Condo is very comfortable and amply furnished. From the balcony able to have a complete view of the ocean and surfers, just 25 ft from the beach. Has a wrap around floor to celing window, able to see the sunsets. Location is perfect, right next to the International Beach House restaurant and next to that is the best snorkelling beach on the island

This condo was awesome!! It had plenty of room for my wife and I. Everything is furnished and the view is great! It is centrally located in the south shore and just a stone’s throw away from beautiful beaches. It's about 40 minutes to the Waimea Canyon road to go up and see it. It's a beautiful drive that will make time pass quickly. You can see turtles swimming right out in front of the condo. Great snorkeling right out in front of the condo as well. People were friendly and laid back. This was very relaxing which is what we wanted. I definitely would recommend this condo!!! You will not be disappointed!!

My family of 5 just returned last week and wished we were back........We love, love, loved the location!! To be so close to the ocean and have that breeze blowing on us all day and night was such a treat! The snokling is awesome and we got to watch our son surf while sitting on the lanai! Our only recommendation is if they could put the BBQs on the grass by the ocean instead of in the parking lot... Thanks Chuck! We will definitely return!!!

Chuck, you were right! Our family had a great time at your Condo on Kuhio Shores. We watched surfers all in the morning and to end our day, wonderful sunsets from the condo. Sea Turtles (one son counted 32 and the other son counted 36), Monk Seals sunning on the beach next door and later that night 2 or 3 swimming outside the condo. We did so many things and we're able to enjoy the snorkeling next door and a great dinner one night at the Beach House. It was truely a great trip had by our family. Thank you Chuck

My wife and her sister and I had a wonderful experience in this condo. As you will note in the other reviews, you simply cannot have a better view of the water and the sea turtles and the local surfers from the lanai. Most every afternoon we would sit on that lanai and have a show that would include sea turtles, surfers, and a sunset. An added advantage is the the lanai does not get the direct sun in the morning or afternoon, so it is always pleasant. Unit is well furnished and equipped with all sorts of extras such as beach chairs, mats, and beach towels. In sum, we loved it.

We have stayed in Kauai many times, but never at a place like this condo at Kuhio Shores.. You can not get closer to the ocean! You can sit on the patio and count the turtles or you can go out infront and snorkel with them. (This is where the tourist companies bring people to snorkel, so you know it is a great location.) I really liked the furniture because it was not the normal rattan you usually find, but a recliner and comfy couch that you can cuddle up on and watch the ocean. The condo comes equipped with everything you need to have a great vacation and the people working there are very friendly and helpful. The condo is located on the second floor with an elevator for easy access and a washer and dryer a few steps away from the unit. But the best part of this condo is the spectacular view of the stars at night. I will never forget our vacation here and I know we will return many times. Thanks Chuck for renting out your part of paradise!

If anyone is looking for a romantic get-away in paradise, this is for you! The view is so wonderful, it is hard to leave even to get something to eat!! The owner, Chuck, was very cordial and gave us lots of useful information ahead of our visit, and we appreciated his follow-up phone call on our return home! Our accommodations were lovely and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Upon viewing the description on the web site, the only exception would be there was no washer and dryer in the unit. It is near, just around the corner, but does require payment. We would love to return today - and would definitely recommend this beautiful condo to everyone! The Beachhouse right next door was great and we also enjoyed Donderos. Thank you, Chuck

Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed using your condominium in Kauai at Kuhio Shores. The view was fantastic! We could see turtles on the reef every day and some days even saw whales in the distance. The kitchen corner top to bottom windows offered an amazing view for all of our meals. We really appreciated all the Kauai guidebooks, beach towels, bath towels, hair dryer and beach chairs available for use. With luggage rates going up, it really made a difference in what we packed at home! The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and hardly needed us to have to buy anything extra for them from the local market. This helped us spend more time having fun! The Beach House restaurant was immediately next ddor and had great food. It made for a very special Easter dinner for us. Lawai Beach, right in front of the Beach House, was just steps away from our room-we couldn't believe it. It made our visit so easy. We enjoyed some great snorkeling with the kids there. It was safe, close and the Snorkel shop was right there too which meant no long hauls of equipment everywhere. There was also a cute little convenience store close by too. Outside showers/rinsers made it easy to be sand free in the condo. I highly recommend renting this condominium to families out there with kids. Everybody has space to hang out. The beach is close. Snorkeling is great. You can keep the fridge stocked and never need to leave. Thank you for helping us have a very memorable family vacation! Much appreciated!

Unit 214 was a spectacular oceanfront condo as advertised. Being so close to the ocean we could enjoy the sea breeze, the incredible sunrise & sunsets daily plus the sound of the surf, watching the great Humpback Whales, dolphins, sea turtles and Monk Seals all from the lanai and the full width of the condo!. Chuck was great keeping in touch with us before, during & after our holiday which was so appreciated. He also let us stay in the condo till the evening of our departure date as our flight left at 11pm - that too was greatly appreciated. What a wonderful holiday he and his condo provided for us. This condo was next door to 5-star dining, with the famous Poipu beach nearby, plus a great variety of restaurants and stores to shop at. I have already recommended this place to family and friends and if I ever go back to Kauai I hope to stay at Chuck's.

stayed in unit #214 7/09. Was fantastic! right on the surf (be careful of the low cost units as they don/t have the view!) and the view makes it. Drank coffee each morning 40ft from the surf, watched sea turtles daily from anywhere in the condo. Unit was stocked with anything you'll need (kitchen/towels/chairs/etc).Clean, roomy and comfortable did I mention the view? takes your breath away when you arrive. If you want to keep the back sliding glass door open (we did) you'll listen to the surf all night (best sleep I've had in years!). Chuck, the owner was very easy to work with and accomodating. I'll be recommending this to a few friends. If you are looking for a fantastic place to stay in kauai you've found it! 5 STARS OUT OF 4!!

From the lanai we enjoyed watching the sea turtles and surfers play in the crashing waves and spectacular rainbows and stars. The condo offered a perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day of exploring the island. We had several phone conversations with the condo owner before our trip which helped us plan our stay. Kuhio Shores is located close to many excellent restaurants and activities.
