River Run: Penthouse Retreat for the Discriminate Traveler
- Minimum stay:2 nights

- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
The new gondola is about a 5 minute walk from our condo. The shuttle bus picks up and drops off right in front of Expedition Station's front door, which is a great convenience for traveling around Summit County.
What separates our mountain home from other condominiums in the Keystone area is the unrestrained quality of the ambiance. We developed our get-away for those who wish to stay not in just another condominium, but an actual mountain home. Our penthouse condominium is not for all travelers. It is for those who want upscale living at its finest. What you will notice is the slate entryway, complimented by a granite counter topped kitchen. Magnificence is exhibited throughout including an elegant mahogany dining table and chairs that seats six comfortably, a living room that is extravagant and yet cozy.
There are so many amenities we cannot list all of them, however, here are just a few: king bedroom en-suite with double-headed shower and two sinks in the master bath; a second king bedroom en-suite with a jacuzzi tub with shower and two sinks and a private water closet; queen bed and off this third bedroom is the third full bathroom with tub and shower.
The kitchen is fully stocked, including little things that are often overlooked but missed when not available; including an automatic ice-maker in the freezer, four wide-slot toaster, and spice rack. Given that our condominium is the largest available in Expedition Station, it allows for one of the greatest overlooked and under appreciated convenience which is a washer and dryer.
Our condominium, being located in River Run Village, is only a 5 minute walk to the gondola. The new River Run ice skating rink is located directly in front of our building, Expedition Station. You can spend your evening out on the town enjoying the restaurants and clubs in the village or a quiet evening at home in front of the stone fireplace. Enjoy a movie, (we even supply some DVDs or cable (not on a usual 25 inch condominium TV, but a 50 inch wide screen Sony LCD TV)!! The entertainment carries throughout the condominium into all the bedrooms each having their own TV.
Keystone is a fun and fabulous year-round resort. In the summer, the area is renowned for its challenging mountain golf courses. There are miles and miles of paved bike paths, single-track mountain bike trails, hiking trails, not to mention stream, lake fishing and sailing on beautiful Lake Dillon. Keystone's night-skiing is the largest operation of its type in North America. You can ski 17 lighted trails over 235 acres. At the resort, the largest Zamboni-maintained outdoor ice rink is on this continent and is waiting for you to come and enjoy. There are many other wintertime outdoor activities including dinner in a cabin in the woods, a lighted tubing hill, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, dog sledding, ice skating, monthly moonlight tour for cross-country skiers, snowmobiling, and romantic sleigh rides.
As this is a well-appointed, adult penthouse condominium, we would like to keep it that way for all to share and enjoy, therefore, we do have limitations upon our guests: No Pets, No Smoking.

Winters are great in Keystone but we really enjoy the summer months. The temps back home were near 100 all during our stay, but here in Keystone they were in the mid 70's. The condo was great for our family and we utilized the pool, hot tub, steam room and work out area. We also took advantage of the grill for a few steak dinners at home. The condo was better than advertised and in a great location just a half block from the center of the village. The owner (Cathy) was very helpful and we hope to stay here on our next trip to Keystone!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks for the great review. We just ordered new stainless steel kitchen appliances so you must return to see "the new kitchen". We always love having repeat business.

Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We have lived in Colorado for 15 years. We have 3 children, ages 24, 22 and 20.
Why the Owner Chose River Run, Expedition Station:
We moved to Colorado in 1997 and started enjoying the many ski resorts that are in Colorado. We found that we always seemed to return to Keystone. When we decided to buy a condo, the River Run Village in Keystone was the only place that felt right to us.
