We arrived by train from Vienna to the Salzburg train station and wheeled our suitcases for about 15 mins to the Old Center of Salzburg. After finding the street, we were met by Igor, the housekeeper of the three apartments on the fourth floor of this wonderful old house. Ours was the most recently remodeled and the largest. When entering the apartment, we loved the charm of the decor, the state of the art kitchen and bathroom, and how well maintained and clean it was. We immediately felt at home, ad even though we left early every day to explore, we so enjoyed returning in the evening to this wonderful place. Climbing the four flights of stairs was definitely worth the effort to get to this most charming apartment. Over the five days we took an excursion to Eagle's Nest and Berchesgarden with Panorama Tours that was wonderful, and the Sound of Music Tour which is not to be missed. We also did our own excursion by several buses and a train to Hallstatt that was incredible. In midst the mystical Salzkammergut Lake Region lies Hallstatt, Austria’s oldest village, who’s culture dates back to the 8th century B.C. Quite possibly the most photographed Austrian village, Hallstatt is visually framed by the Hallstaettersee and the massive Dachstein mountain range. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and not to be missed. Our communication with the owner was delightful and easy. Using PayPal was an added plus. We HIGHLY recommend this wonderful apartment. It was a perfect place to end our amazing time in Austria.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in Gabi's apartment in late August. Greeted by Igor who helped with our luggage ( on the fourth floor) and oriented us with our home away from home, this superbly appointed apartment matched the beauty of Salzburg. Well located near the AlterMarkt we were steps away from restaurants cafes and all the beauty Salzburg had to offer. We couldn't have had a better experience with our first visit to Salzburg. We would definitely stay again, hopefully for longer next time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My daughter and I recently stayed ( July 2011 ) in Gabi's # 1 apartment located in the Old Town part of Slazburg. It is absolutely fabulous.... great location, tons of charm and all the conveniences that you would need! Gabi has done an amazing job of rennovating this beautiful old & unique building ( from 1374 ) with very modern decor, accents, lovely linens & towels and wonderful fixtures. The apartment was very clean and well presented. We would stay again in a heart beat and will definitely recommend this accomodation to friends and family. We were met outside the building by Igor who took the time to explain the apartment well, local restaurants ( lots of them ), grocery store, local food market, shopping, local events happening, tours ( " Sound of Trudy ", a walking Sound of Music tour of Slazburg was fabulous! ) He also had maps and brochures available for us to use. The tourist information place is just a couple minutes walk away. We actualy stayed in one evening to cook and have a candle light dinner and the kitchen had eveything we needed. This apartment is located in the old historic part of Salzburg with the cobble stone streets and all the charm you would want in Slazburg. We took in a Mozart concert with Opera & dinner which was wonderful. There is just so much to see from this location, all within walking distance. An early morning hike up to the castle followed by stopping at a local bakery for coffee & breakfast topped off our stay there. We wish we had more time in Salzburg and if we return we will definitely stay in one of Gabi's apartments!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We have just returned from 5 days in Salzburg and loved every minute. The apartment (no 1) is beautifully fitted out and extremely convenient for everything you could wish to do in Salzburg. Gabi was very helpful both in dealing with our booking and after we arrived, advising us on bus routes to the Salzkammergut, a beautiful area well worth exploring and less than an hour from the city. There is a supermarket close by so if you wanted to self cater and make use of the well equipped kitchen this would be easy to do. There are, however, lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Buying a Salzburg Card means you can save a lot of money on admissions and transport. In fact we worked out that we saved 114 Euros by buying a 24 hour card for 25 Euros each! As well as giving free admission to lots of attractions and free bus travel it also covers the river cruise (16 Euros without a card) and the cable car up the Untersberg (20 Euros). We would love to return to Salzburg and would not think of staying anywhere other than Gabi's lovely apartment. The only possible problem that I can think of for some people would be the stairs (80 in all), especially if you have a lot of luggage - beats going to the gym though!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I stayed here with my family in December 2010. It was magical, the location couldnt be better. The Apartment itself was pure luxury and comfort, it had everything you could wish for in a home away from home. The only drawback if you could call it that was the stairs up to the apartment. I have visited Salzburg around 10 times (yes I'm a fan of the city) and stayed in different hotels but wouldnt stay anywhere else but here on my next visitRecommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed 3 wonderful nights in January 2010. We travelled with 3 children aged 16 - 20 and stayed in apartments 1 & 4. We were the second group to stay in apart 1 after it's refurbishment - it was fantastic to look out on the old market square especially whilst enjoying the lovely fresh snowfalls and to be walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Gabi was the most delightful host and very friendly and so accommodating - we all fell in love with her and are desperate to go back to Salzburg in Spring next time to Gabi and those define apartments . We were very sad as Gabi waved our car away with our European journey continuing onto Munich. We will return!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

we have just come back from salzburg we were impressed with the apartment and the city, could not fault a thing! the apartment was like 5 star with everything you wanted ,very clean modern and cosy.being in the centre was a bonus we could just pop back for a rest during the day.I was surprised how quiet it was too. I would strongly recomend buying a salzburg card we got a 3 day one and managed to do loads of attractions really good value. we caught bus no 2 from airport to centre 2 euros very good service. we had a great stay and would certainly say you wont be disappointed if you stay here.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My husband and I rented the Salzburg apartment and could not believe our luck. Right in the heart of the Old Town, you are only a short walk from the many attractions Salzburg has to offer, the new town is within a 5-10 min walk and the local railway station a 30 min walk or 10 min bus ride away. For those who wish to see the surrounding areas (Zell em See is well worth a visit in winter or summer, plenty of walks for none skiers, €28 Euro for up to 5 adults, day return by train (Prices, Dec 08). There are also various places of interest along the route but during the summer months only, please check with the local information centre. The owner of the property was very helpful and provided us with information on the local supermarkets, bars, and restaurants available and location of the public information centres. On request, a DVD player and laptop computer were provided during our stay for no extra cost. The apartment itself is on the top floor but the ascent if full of charm and character as the building dates back to 1374. It is very clean and spacious with a microwave oven, washing machine, TV, and separate bathroom. The walk in shower was better than ours at home!! We thought that the apartment may get cold considering some nights it was minus 10 outside but it always warm and cosy, sometimes too warm so we had to open a window!! Our favourite restaurant was Steinbrau, this is a building with many restaurants inside all decorated differently but serving the same menu. The staffs were very friendly and helpful and the food lovely. There is an all you can eat Chinese Buffet just off the main shopping street, which has plenty of choice and reasonably price. As you leave the apartment turn right and then right again there, are two restaurants opposite one another both serving a selection of traditional food and a Mexican restaurant (similar style to Nando's in the UK) which is also very nice. Please note that the food in Austria is very Austrian, the Chinese and Indian food served is authentic, and not the rubbish you have in the UK. I would recommend this apartment to any of my family and friends travelling to Austria and cannot wait to return there again in the near future.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

This apartment could not be more perfectly situated for any visitor, and we loved the very convenient access to the markets, sites, the tourtist information, restaurants and of course the Furst cafe with the world's best pastries. The apartment is in a very old building (with lots of character), but the apartment itself is modern, bright and very comfortable. Our host was especially helpful with orientating us to Salzburg and the sites. By the way, for any runners out there, this place is very near great running trails by the river! Would definitely recommend this place.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.
