Allow the the sounds of crashing waves lull you to sleep. Also not to be missed viewing the stars from our deck at night while you hear the ocean waves crashing on shore!
Our second floor, two bedroom unit has a full kitchen with washer & dryer. Forget the large condos with their partial views from only the decks. No matter where you sit you will be watching the majesty of the ocean, sometimes seeing a pair of Dolphins swim by. Walk only 30 steps down a private walk to the beach. Unit next door may avalible & sleeps four.
Enjoy the Historical re-enactments of Cival War soldiers at Fort Clinch, where the entry to this beautiful nature preserve is 5 minutes away. Stand atop the forts walls and view the enchanting Cumberland Island where wild horses run free over the ruins of the Carnige Mansion.
Take 10 min. drive to Historic Center Street, and walk on the brick and cobblestone paths that pirates traveled on 100's of years before. Browse through the many unique shops, stopping for homemade ice cream or fudge at the corner candy store.
Stroll to the end of town and you will find a small fishing port, where shrimp boats dock. Take a fishing or site seeing charter boat trip or just have lunch watching the island port activity. If golf is more to your liking you can select from the finest golf on the coast. You and your family can spend the day at Amelia Island Plantation and golf at a Tom Fazio, Pete Dye or Bobby Weed designed courses. There is plenty of shopping for designer fashions and dining for all occasions.
If you prefer the untouched natural preserves, you can travel to the South end of the Island past the plantation and go horseback riding on the beach! Cross over the bridge and onto another island and rent kayaks for the afternoon investigating the many marsh inlets. See all 12 photo,s on site

Let me start with the fact that we cold picked Amelia Island as our Spring Break location. We had never been there before and we did not know anyone who had. We absolutely adored every minute of it. The people, the condo, the state parks, shopping, dining, beach, everything. We have three children (4,9, and 13). Being on the beach was so perfect, being within walking distance of Seaside Park and the Skate Park was a huge bonus. We loved morning walks on the beach, being able to see our kids playing while we had coffee or a few drinks on the balcony was so nice. We saw dolphins and even a couple of times a whale with a dolphin entourage from the deck. The starts were amazing at night just as promised. The bed in the master was so comfortable. We slept so well. We ate at numerous places but our favorite hands down was Timoti's Seafood Shak. We liked Sliders and Brett's Waterfront as well. Moon River Pizza was great and the pizzas are huge. Da Nucci's for ice cream is a must. We were so happy to see playgrounds at many of the restaurants as well which helps with the little ones. We went to Fort Clinch and did some hikes. We loved this. Its like suddenly you are in another world and its just two minutes away. We walked the fishing pier and looked for Alligators. We took the boat ride by Amelia Cruises and would definitely recommend that as well. When we come back we want to do St. Augustine, Mayport, bike rides, etc. etc.I would like to add that we looked for a long time for someplace to stay and the prices are all over the place but this was so reasonably priced I could not imagine it was going to be such an amazing location or so nice. We are a hundred percent in love with Amelia and for a couple that was hesitant because we are "mountain" people that is saying a lot. As I am writing this there are 10 inches of snow on the ground:( and my wonderful memories of Seagate and Amelia. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a lovely stay at the condo, and liked the fact it wasn't a part of a huge complex. It was quiet on our stretch of the beach and we could see the dolphins swimming in the ocean every day!! We were super close to downtown, and within walking distance to a restaurant right on the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer, we will definitely be back! Also loved the big deck overlooking the ocean, with a gate so my toddlers could be contained! Big plus!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Everything I was looking for and more to take my sister after mastectomy. Fantastic ocean view from kitchen and living room with walkway to beach. Once we arrived we never left. Enjoyed morning coffee watching sunrise from the kitchen bar looking out over the water with wine and cheese on the deck at the end of restful days. Inside filled with healing energy, lots of laughs, great food, comfortable furniture. Plenty of room and lovely memories. Casual feeling with all the privacy I was looking for as well as being right on the beach which itself is not crowded or touristy. Perfect stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Had a great time exploring the town and hanging out with the locals. Nice to be able to walk to Sandy Bottoms and have a few drinks and great fried shrimp and oysters then walking back to the condo (you can walk there on the beach or the sidewalk out front). The sky at night is amazing and during the day walking the beach in the warm sunshine is relaxing. The condo is close to everything. I only had to fill my gas tank once the whole time I was there. Took the ferry to Mayport and bought fresh shrimp, went to the Port of Fernandina Beach and bought fresh shrimp but, the best fresh shrimp I bought was off the side of the road the causeway is on before you reach I 95 (and least expensive). Went to the airport twice to pick up guests and within an hour I was back on the beach. Ate at several places in the historical district and would go back to all again. The people on the island are very nice and laid back. Being there for New Years eve was splendid. A taxi on the island is only seven dollars no matter where you go however, I tip heavily and had no problems waiting for the taxi driver (I left Carlo's business card on the fridge he is a great taxi driver). My friends went fishing right there on the beach and had a great time. If your looking for a stress free vacation and quiet this is the place to go in the winter. The weather could not have been better (in the 70's most days and 50 at night). Last but not least the master bedroom bed is sooooo comfortable you fall asleep immediately only to get up the next morning to see the beautiful sun rise over the ocean. I hope to be able to return for a month again next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We first came to this enchanted paradise in September, 2008 and have been there a total of 4 times with the most recent being April and May 2012. We travel about four times a year from two weeks to a month at a time. This includes Florida, NC, NJ, and PA. Seagate is the only place we have ever been to more than once. It has everything to offer. The Ocean is superb. The quaint shops downtown are an absolute must see. The best thing about Fernandina Beach is its dog friendliness. Almost every Restaurant in the Historic District caters to dogs. And yes, the food is unbelieveable. Laura is the best owner anywhere. She caters to all of your needs and cares about you as an individual, not a renter. We keep going back to Seagate and am sure we will be returning. I dream of sitting on the deck and watching the dolphins put on a live show right in front of us. The relaxation and rest is superb. Anyone looking for the most relaxing, resting, stress free vacation must stay at the Seagate.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I have been to this condo 2 times and enjoyed the condo tremendously. It is RIGHT on the beach front and there is a deck large enough to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine and sunset-watching dinners. It is close to town so grocery shopping is a breeze, It's close to the airport so you don't have to drive very far to get "on vacation"! once you land. The condo is clean and provides all the amenities one could need. The beaches there are superb and the sites/shopping/restaurants to visit on Amelia Island are endless. The neighbors were always kind, considerate and friendly. I would recommend this place because the owners are conscientious and have kept up with making quality changes when needed. They are honest and keep the place in mint condition.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I always respond to renters and try to make their stays pleasurable . We just had a new roof installed after tropical storm Beryl and the roofers used screws that penetrated our ceiling. The electrical issue have all been fixed. After his stay we installed a new layer of sheetrock to cover up the screws in the bedrroms , it looks great now. Are condo is well stocked from the kitchen to beach towels. I was unaware that an other owner was going to be doing construction next door and be have been told it should be done shortly. I discounted Rickeys rental fees to compensate him for the unconvinced Rickey, was never satisfied no matter what I offered to do. He has exaggerated the issues and if you read all the other reviews you will see how happy most renters are and how quickly I respond to their request.Did you find this review helpful? The location was wonderful; however this has been the worst experience in renting we have ever had! The owner called the day before we were to leave for our vacation and left a voice mail (she would not take my call when I tried to call back) that we would have to deal with elections very early on Tuesday morning. The bathroom light or outlet did not work so don’t think of blow drying your hair and half the outlets did not work in the Kitchen. We were instructed not to use more than one appliance at a time . The celling had very long nails sticking out of it. This would not be so much of a problem if my son wasn’t sleeping on a bunk bed very close to the celling. I don’t think we were able sleep in one day the three other units had construction people in tearing down walls so mold will not build up in the walls. (Which we were told the owner was very aware of) Not to mention while the other units decided to tear the walls and ceiling down for health precautions she is not repairing her unit so if you have allergies stay away both me and my daughter where on Sudafed by the end of the trip. The condo is very poorly stocked. The community pool is 4 miles away not 4 blocks and she failed to mention that it’s a public pay per use pool not a neighborhood community pool. When my husband again tried to call her she would only respond thru email never offering an apologyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/4

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: My husband & I live in Connecticut, But we were looking for a peaceful beach cottage on the Atlantic Ocean& we found it ! We enjoys walking on the beach ,surfing and ocean kayaking, and swimming. I was born and raised in Florida and needed a place to escape from the cold New England winters. But after a couple of visits we discovered that we enjoy coming to Amelia Island during all seasons of the year.
Why the Owner Chose Seagate:
My husband & I purchased our beach front condo because we loved the views & the beach privacy. We also enjoyed the southern charm of the Historical town. The unspoiled beauty for us was a big draw. Growing up in Florida, I saw how many coastal communities where over built with too many high rises and haphazard zoning. Amelia Island explmplifiys what Florida was like before over development. There are never any traffic jams and everything is only a few blocks away. Every time I am there, I discover new things to do and hidden natural coastal preserves to explore.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
A wonderful evening discovery is viewing the stars from our deck at night. On a clear night your can see the Milky Way and many constellations. I love sitting on our deck in the evenings listening to the surf, while viewing the stars. For me it is a time to appreciate miraculous universe God gave us to enjoy. You have the feeling of living on the edge of the Sea. Sometimes while eating dinner we see schools of Dolphin's seeking their dinner too.
