We enjoyed our stay on Amelia Island during Feburary 2012. The beach, eating out, golfing, shark tooth hunting, state parks, farmers market, Cumberland Island, historic district, and condo were beyond our expectations. We will be back. Working out the details for the condo rental with Laura were easy and efficient.

A Great Homecoming

My Husband just returned from a year long tour in Iraq and as part of his leave we rented this condo on Amelia Island to get away and relax and reconnect as a family. The descriptions and pictures are very accurate. The view was fantastic and just a few steps away from enjoying the beach. It's also is a very low-key spot on the Island so we practically had the beach to ourselves (in July!) for the week. It is also just a five minute drive to historic downtown and all of the restaurants. The beds were also very comfortable which is a big plus for our family. In other places we have stayed, we've had to rent chairs, linens, and beach toys, but this place included all of those things without any extra price or requesting. The owner of this property has made this condo very welcoming for families, clean, easy to check out of, and you can't beat the price for the location we had. We would love to stay here again on our next leave! Our favorite restaurants as a suggestions are Sliders, Jack and Diane's, and Peppers. The antique stores downtown are also very fun to shop around in, and there's a wonderful farmers market on Saturdays downtown. For a special treat visit Fernandinas Fantastic Fudge!

We had a wonderful time during our week on Amelia Island and the condo is an ideal location! Truly right on the beach and such a peaceful location and quiet, beautiful beach. The condo was clean and had all the amenities we needed and it was close enough to everything to be convenient, while far enough away to be peaceful. We enjoyed exploring the downtown, kayaking, the boat ride over to Cumberland Island, a day trip to St Augustine, nighttime stars, morning sunrises and most of all, the wonderful beach and spending time on the beautiful deck. I have fallen in love with Amelia Island and I know I will return. I already miss long morning walks and runs on the beach and the sound of the sea. Thank you, Laura for your prompt, courteous responses to our inquires and for sharing your peace of heaven on earth with us. I have never so completely relaxed on vacation the way I did on Amelia Island.

This condo has amazing views of the ocean; direct ocean front views. We enjoyed our vacation very much. Owners quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Living room furniture not very comfortable, but stayed outside on deck and on beach most of the time anyway. We had a lovely stay and would stay here again.

Owner response:The Pottery Barn Sofa is now more comfortable as I added extra foam under cushions. I selected it to insure the highest level of sanitation, for our guests

My wife, DeeDee, and I stayed at this property from 10/26/2010 until 11/01/2010 and had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect just as the listing and pictures indicate. Laura was an easy person to communicate with and very hospitable. The property is very clean and well kept, and not once did we observe any insects, which is highly unusual for this area. We also thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beach. as well as the shops and overall atmosphere in the nearby town of Fernandina Beach. We highly reccomend this property and hope to stay again soon. The condo was just as advertised -- just steps to the beach with a great view from the deck. The furnishings were comfortable and pleasant, and the kitchen stocked with all the appliances and utensils needed. Laura was very quick to respond to emails, and clear about how things worked. Seagate on Amelia Island was paradise! I was looking for an unexpected last minute vacation retreat to take my sister who lives in Florida and was recovering from a mastectomy. Seagate met and exceeded all of my criteria for the "perfect place"...unobstructed ocean view, quiet, away from crowds, deck where we could just sit and enjoy the view. We watched dolphin frolicking in the ocean every day, were mesmerized by the sea oats dancing on the dunes, easy walk down private boardwalk to the beach, dining on the deck or inside on the lovely breakfast bar in front of the oceanview window. We bought groceries before we arrived and were so content we only left once during the entire stay to pick up a few things. Laura was quite accomodating to our last minute needs. We intend to return to Seagate again in the future to celebrate life and the blessings of living...and of course to return for our daily dolphin spotting activity. Seagate is an easy drive from Jacksonville International Airport. Thanks to Laura for sharing her piece of heaven on earth.

Staying at the Seagate was more than a great pleasure! The condo itself was very relaxing, providing every need possible including a fantastic view of the ocean. The location is very central to anything on the island yet the beach seemed uncrowded and peaceful. We have visited Amelia Island for the last 12 years and this condo has been our best experience yet. We definately will want to return next year!

The condo was the perfect vacation spot after a hectic school year. We loved the peace, privacy and down-time that the SeaGate offered. The sunrises were breath taking; the ocean calming. We were close to everything and everywhere we wanted to go. I think it is important to note that we found Laura to be very personable and easy to work with. We hope to return again next year.

Since we had to cancel our reservations to stay during April, 2009 shortly after we made them, I cannot comment on the accommodations; however, I can comment about how gracious and understanding Laura was in refunding not only the one-half of our rental fee we had already paid, but our deposit, as well, in full. We had a family crisis that precluded us from being able to take vacation, as planned, and her professionalism and kindness did not go unnoticed. I look forward to being able to vacation at Laura's place in the future.

We arrived at SeaGate of Amelia on Fernandina Beach, Florida on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. We have been here for more than three weeks with two weeks remaining on our lease (Departure - October 8, 2008. Me and my wife do not want to leave. This vacation has truly been one of the best ever and we have travelled to most of the States, most of the Carribean Islands, Hawaii, and Europe. The beach is one of the nicest ones I've seen along the East Coast and we've seen most of them from MA. to the Keys. The quaint downtown area with its shops and eateries is superb. Laura, the owner, has been most pleasant and easy to talk and deal with. She allowed us to add days at the beginning of the vacation as well as the end at very very reasonable rates. She is a true professional. I recommend the horseback riding with Debbie Manzer; it's an awesome experience. The weather has been very very good with really only two bad days out of the first 23. Fernandina Beach and SeaGate of Amelia has every thing to offer and every thing you need. The rental fee is without a doubt the most reasonable of any where. Just sitting on the deck and reading was most relaxing and calming. If you need a totally stress free experience, I highly recommend SeaGate of Amelia.

We had a wonderful time at the SeaGate the view from the deck was amazing. We spend almost as much time there as the beach. We arose every morning before sunrise and drank our coffee and watch the sunrise then walked the beach. A little piece of heaven.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our vacation that we had booked for this condo. The owner was VERY UNDERSTANDING. She only had a few weeks before our arrival, but was able to find a new renter. Generously, she refunded our entire deposit. Laura was wonderful to work with and always responded to my emails. I hope that one day we can make it down to FLA and stay in her condo.

I just spent the month of March at the Beach House. We were so close to the ocean and the waves and it made every day there worthwhile - oh, and I forgot to mention the sunrises! The weather was perfect, the old town was so much fun to explore, the food was great and we were able to travel to Cape Kennedy, Savannah and other locations. I highly recommend this as a vacation rental and will rent here again.

We spent a delightful five days at Seagate of Amelia. The condo was perfectly furnished, the setting was peaceful. The view was great, especially from the deck, just a few steps to the beach, where the "shelling"was excellent. We were just a few minutes from the outstanding restaurants in the historic district ... every night was a new treat. We also enjoyed visiting the nearby state parks. We hope to return!

We had a wonderful time. The beach, old town, even the people on the beach were great. I walked every morning on the beach and saw usually the same people each time they all said "hello" everymorning. I felt at home and was able to relax. I also loved the porch, being able to have a cup of coffee while the kids run along the beach was wonderful.

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at the beach in this very nice condo. The view was spectacular from the deck. We watched dolphins swimming in the ocean. We got to see some beautiful sun rises, and took long walks on the beach. It was one of the best vacations that we have taken in recent years! We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing visit to Seagate. You could not ask for a better location on the island and the beach access is just so incredibly convenient right off the large deck! We enjoyed having our own little private spot on the beach right in front of the condo. The high ceilings in the living room and kitchen, combined with the big windows and sliding door provide such expansive views that you can enjoy the ocean no matter what you are doing. Thanks so much for a great trip!

I have mixed emotions about posting this comment. :-) I would like to keep this wonderful home a secret for just myself. There is nothing more soothing than sitting on the deck looking directly over the ocean. We watched the sun rise and the dolphins play. It was like having our own private beach. The condo is beautifully decorated and immaculate. The island has many wonderful tourist sites to visit and every store you need within just a few minutes drive.
