Alto Salto, a 3300 sq. ft. luxury adobe country home situated on 3.5 private acres in prestigeous El Salto, is easily accessible between downtown Taos and the Ski Valley. The home has stunning 360 degree views, crowned by magnificent mountains, colorful western sunsets, and mountains to explore behind the house reached by crossing a romantic "bridge to the hills".
Luxurious and private, Alto Salto is furnished for our guest's enjoyment in elegant southwestern style. The home has plenty of windows opening to the spectaular views, a large gourmet kitchen, radiant floor heating and original art. Alto Salto has a large living room with a cathedral ceiling, kiva fireplace and an entertainment center as well as a family room den with a ping-pong table and entertainment center.
There are two bedrooms on the main level; one with a queen bed, twin daybed, and doors opening onto the patio with hot tub; the second bedroom has lovely wooded views and a king bed. Upstairs, there is an 900 sq. ft. master suite with a wrap-around porch, and a king bed with enormous skylight where you can fall asleep viewing the stars overhead. The master bath is newly remodeled with large sunken jetted tub with separate walk-in shower, and a seating area with a twin sofa bed facing the wood-burning fireplace. The home also has a queen sofa bed downstairs in the family room and a portable baby crib.
Alto Salto amenities include a well-equipped kitchen, three satellite TVs (two of which are large flat screens), three VCRs and DVD players, two stereo systems, and a washer and dryer. The home has a large patio with splendid views where you can enjoy outdoor dining, or enjoy sunsets in the jetted hot tub that seats six. Alto Salto has an open floor plan, comfortable and luxurious furnishings, and unique setting that make this home perfect for family parties or friends gatherings.
The owners regularly visit the home and make continuous improvements to the house and property.

There are great hiking trials with a short drive; a 1/4 mile hike to a waterfall and a longer hike to a box canyon. Kids adore Taos Cow, and ice cream shop on a stream in the nearby village of Arroyo Seco, and swimming year round at Northside Recreation Center.

The entire property is beautiful. The house is comfortable, open and spacious with unexpected luxuries like original artwork from Taos artists. My husband and I stayed for a week with friends who had kids and we had a fantastic time. The views are stunning and there is hiking right out the back door. You will want to sit on the patio forever with a cool drink and enjoy the fresh breeze, and I do not ever remember seeing so many stars at night. This place is truly spectacular and the nearby town, Arroyo Seco, has fun artisan shops and local eateries. We will definitely stay here again.

Amazing master bath and master bedroom and deck off master. Great shower in master with view. Great views and wonderful hot tub among the trees. Wonderful patio and deck. Very comforatable beds in all bedrooms. We had 6 adults and 3 young children and did great. Spacious and lots of room for private time. Rustic road and pretty remote site, but we loved it. Big kitchen-- the frig and oven need some attention. If staying more then 3 days you should bring additonal toilet paper, soap and paper towels.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.
