Why the Owner Chose Isle of Palms
My family is from Summerville SC which is 30 miles away. Before the days of air conditioning (I know--it was a long time ago!)lowcountry folks picked up stakes and moved to their beach houses or their mountain houses to escape the suffocating heat of the towns and cities.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Time on the beach and watching the ocean are always a great joy. Look for orange tape marking sea turtle nests and find out when they are expected to hatch. It's well worth staying up all night to help the little ones race to the open sea.
Two wonderful public courses for local golf. One course has ocean view holes.
Owner's Map of Isle of Palms
Stanley Reahard is the oldest child of the original home owners: My parents bought this property when my Father was on a 30 day leave during WWI. After the war they built a small bungalow with a side porch. They later added a front porch, and a second floor with a large deck for enjoying the views in the evening. When hurricane Hugo destroyed the house in 1989, they rebuilt the current house which we have all enjoyed for the past 20 years. With 6 bedrooms, a wide front porch and two living rooms it has served our growing family very well.
