Punalu'u Hale is a beautiful beachfront home located directly on a stretch of white sandy beaches surrounded by a lush mountainous backdrop know as the "Koolau's". This three bedroom, two bathroom home is delightfully decorated with comfortable traditional Hawaiian style printed ratan furnishings throughout. Art by local artists and more decorate our home.

The outdoor lanai is furnished with chairs and two round tables for your dining experience as you embrace the gentle tradewinds and enjoy the peaceful atmoshphere. The grassy backyard (perfect for barbecuing) fades into a sandy area perfect for sunbathing and sandcaping for the children.

The calm, crystal blue waters allows year-round swimming for the whole family to enjoy. This is where all your fun filled ocean activities will take place to include excellent snorkeling adventures, fishing, swimming and kayaking. You can spend your day relaxing, exploring an incredible coral reef, turtle watching and whale watching during the season. Here in Punaluu you will experience a true Hawaiian getaway that can only be described as divine. You'll be impressed by the privacy of this location.

The town of Punalu'u is Located 40-45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport, Waikiki Beach, and downtown Honolulu. If you head north 20 minutes you'll be in the North shore, the surfing capital of the world with famous beaches like Wiamea, Pipline, and Sunset. There are two general stores within walking distance. a few minutes drive will take you to restaurants, farmers market, and a small shopping mall.

The activities offered in the local area will be sure to keep your adventurous side entertained. There is Kualoa Ranch for horseback riding, ATV rides, jetskiing, helicopter tours, kayaking, scuba diving, gun range, ranch movie set tours and more. The Polynesian Cultural Center offers luaus and its nightly fire dancing shows. The Turtle Bay Resort has two championship golf courses ,tennis courses, and hiking trails all within minutes from the house.

  • A lovely property, clean, well-tended. Owners live next door, so any and all concerns, questions, etc dealt with easily. Owner and family are super sweet and genuinely want tenants to have the best time possible. Well-stocked kitchen. Great beach equipment available, especially the two kayaks. Ideal location, quiet, laid back. We traveled to North Shore beach locations almost daily and enjoyed Giovanni's Shrimp truck on many return trips. Don't miss the two great golf deals: Kahuku the 9 hole (all but one give you views of water) at $11.50 and the Fazio course at Turtle Bay after 3pm at $15 (walking). Tamura's poke counter has dozens of delicious choices (try the tako limu!). If you have a little one just warming-up to fishing, you can buy a bamboo pole and simple equipment at Kaya's and catch a handful of small fish in any one of the streams leading to the ocean (best luck at the one next to Breaker's beach parking lot). But the view from the house, and the beautiful sound of the incoming waves at night are the true delight. Stay as long as you can.

  • This was truly THE MOST relaxing vacation our family has ever had!! The house was the perfect size and had everything we needed and more. Clothes and toiletries are all you will need to pack. Linens/towels, movies, boardgames, books and even some food items will be there waiting for you! You will have your own private little beach, toys for the kids, kayaks, snorkels and more. Laze in the hammock under the tree, lounge on the chairs with the trade winds keeping you cool. If you are looking for a peaceful patch of paradise then you've found it!! We were all so sad to leave but will cherish our time at Punalu'u Hale forever :-)

  • This house was perfect for our family of 5 adults. Every necessity is provided and house was very clean and well maintained. Outstanding views and great beach access, kayaks are a great way to be on the water, good snorkling there as well. You will not be disappointed in this rental, and owner is a pleasure to deal with! Truly fortunate that our family was able to spend 10 days here and look forward to returning some day.

We loved snorkeling just steps from our door, walking on the beach, the great kayaks, and, of course, the chocolate macadamia nut pies from the near by grocery store. A terrific vacation spot!

  • Virginia, Thank you for the a most wonderful vacation. The house was wonderful - a home away from home. The view was incredible - with both sun and moon rises to enjoy. We loved sitting near the water, snorkelling and best of all seeing turtles. It was our first vacation as a family and our little boy loved his first ocean swim, playing in the sand and sitting in the deck chairs. Staying there and not in the city was the BEST decision we ever made. We'd recommend it to anyone as this side of the Island is beautiful. Thank you so much for what was our most memorable trip ever - we hope to come again some day as we miss it already!

  • I cannot say enough great things about this property.The location was ideal.This side of Oahu is quiet and peaceful and yet an easy drive to activities.The house and beach itself our so awesome, you will be tempted to just stay put.The house is right on the beach.There is a reef in front of the beach which makes the beach perfect for snorkeling and kayaking-fyi-this equipment comes with the rental.Our hostess-Virginia was very gracious!Fresh Hawaiian fruit ,chocolate and coffee were waiting for us when we arrived.The house had everything we needed.It was very clean and nicely decorated.We will certainly be back to this little piece of paradise.

  • This place is everything it says it is and more. A little out of the way from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the true scenic locations. Ginger was an excellent host and was always available if needed. The next time we come back to the island we plan on checking the availability dates of the house to coordinate our vacation. If you're looking for a private beach house, look no further. This was our first time using VRBO and the experience was far better than I could imagine. I notice that other renters talked about receiving their deposit checks back, we received ours in about week after we left.
