Why the Owner Chose Harwich
The cape is a magical place-particularly for families. We love the house because it allows access to Long Pond, but is also very well situated to get around to the many great beaches on the Bay(Skaket in Orleans is our favorite) and the rest of the many activities the cape has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Koi pond is a definitely a highlight-a very tranquil setting in which to relax after a busy day on the cape.
Owner's Map of Harwich
We live in Connecticut and fell in love with the cape on a vacation. We spend as many weekends up at the house as we are able throughout the year with our three boys.

Great Family House!

We found this to be a great house for a family with small kids - off a quiet dirt road, a large rear deck with plenty of chairs and saftey gates, and a 2nd floor den stocked with toys and kids books. While you can walk to the lake, its a very short drive (less than 5 minutes) to a very pretty town beach on the lake that has a life guard. Since our daughter was scared of the ocean waves, we were at the lakefront beach everyday!

We love Long Pond!

We enjoyed our stay. The house offers a great layout and is quite nice. It is centrally located to so many great Cape Cod beaches (Skaaket is wonderful) and family activities, including Long Pond. This lake is beautiful and is just a short distance from the rental. Bike paths are very close as well. The koi pond on the property was a real hit with our children. Just a few pointers...If you're looking for the "outdoor shower" experience, please note that the shower is located under the deck, so viewing stars at night, or setting sun at the end of a long day at the beach isn't in the lineup (the kids refused to go in because it was a little too dark for their imaginations). Also, there is only one television, so be prepared to enjoy the quiet... which actually was a welcome change.

This is a great family house, with a location convenient to many of the Cape's attractions. Our stay was very comfortable -- just loved the commercial range in the kitchen -- and we were able to take advantage of so much: swimming at the nearby lake and at the ocean, seeing the seals off of Chatham, going whalewatching in Providence, and biking along the Cape Cod bike trail. The kids even fit in some time playing in the upstairs puppet theatre. A most enjoyable vacation!

Enjoyed your lovely home and use of the lake. My grandchildren enjoyed feeeding the fish!-Grandma Pierce Thanks for letting us stay at your house. It was so much fun feeding the fish. I even named a few of them. I loved the pond. The water was always the right temperature. We even finished the 1000 piece puzzle. Thanks for lending us the brochures, they really helped us find where we wanted to go. Overall I just loved the house.-Erica Pierce age 11

Thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful home. We had a great time on the cape. It was so nice to be so close to the ocean and Long Pond! We probably spent half our vacation swimming. The house was very cozy and comfortable and we loved the beds, and especially the puppet theatre! though the puppet were kinda creepy. Overall, we loved the stay. Thanks

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is quite comfortable and convenient to the beaches and the bike trail. What I shall miss most of all, though, is cooking on that fabulous commercial range! Thanks!
