Drive through the barn shelter entrance (see link to additional photos) to this private mountain community to peace,quiet and beauty of the Northern mountains of North Carolina. Wind past a catch and release fish pond, a barbecue shed to the top of the hill where the view of Three Top Mountain is breathtaking in every season; Fifteen minutes from Helton Creek where there is great trout fishing.

This timber-framed home at 3200 feet provides a wide angle view of Three Top Mountain; a photographer's dream. The upper and lower decks allow viewing the Milky Way or at certain times of the year, watching the occasional deer or turkey walk through the property. Rock, enjoy breakfast or a cookout on the lower deck and the purity of night sounds of nature from the upper deck.

Take long walks on the community property. Enjoy restaurants, shops, and North Carolina's only cheese factory in nearby West Jefferson. Visit the antique shops and galleries in Boone and blowing Rock. Walk or bike the Virginia Creeper Trail or visit Mount Rogers.

  • We stayed here in the beggining of June 2006. The accomidations were impecible, everything you see and more. The surroundings and view were incredible. The best thing though was the owner Carol. She made sure that we were comfortable and made herself acsessible. We would definatly reccomend this place if your looking fora peaceful getaway. Thank you Carol!!

  • The house was awesome if you like peace and serenity and we even got to see deer, wild turkeys, a rabbit, some squirrels and even an oppossum. The view was incredible and if you pick up your groceries on the way in you won't have to go anywhere for anything!! That's just what we wanted and we'll be going back in the future I'm sure.     My family and I vacationed at this lovely cabin for 5 days during July. The cabin was clean, roomy and well furnished. The owner, Carole, was very friendly and made herself accessible by phone at all times should we have any questions or problems. The very best thing about the cabin, though, is the view. It is truly incredible! The quiet solitude was so relaxing. We saw only 3 cars in our first 3 days there. This is the perfect place to get away from it all but yet have the town of West Jefferson located only a short drive away. The Hardin Family North Carolina

  • We found this beautiful house on the Internet and we were not disappointed when we arrived to the cottage with the nice overview of the mountains. If you are looking for some relaxing time with your family or friends, this is it! We would not hesitate to visit again.

  • Several friends and I rented this cabin Oct 14-16, 2005. The location is superb. It sits near the top of a mountain, and the views are spectacular. Although there are other homes further downhill, you can not see any from the cabin. It is very private. We were very comfortable here, and everything was in good working order. Everyone in our party was very pleased with the cabin. The owner, Carole, was a joy to work with. She is super-friendly, and she doesn't play any games. She strives to please her clients. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the place (both location and accommodation) and the owner are. Very Highly Recommend!
