The house is located on the first block of Mott Avenue about a hundred steps from Seabright State Beach and is not on a main road so traffic noise is not a problem. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk and also the yacht harbor are only a few minutes walk from the house. You can also easily walk to several fine restaurants. The wharf and downtown Santa Cruz are about a mile away. There is a lot to do within walking distance of the house. You have one of the best beaches in California right outside your doorsteps. Seabright Beach is sometimes called “Castle Beach” by local old timers and is a great family beach. You can swim, bodysurf, beach comb and picnic on the beach. Lifeguards are stationed on Seabright Beach during the peak summer season. At night beach fires are allowed.
This two-story, two bedroom, two and a half bath home has all the elements of the perfect vacation get-away. You see the beach and ocean from the upstairs kitchen, living room, sun room and deck.

Downstairs features an enticing master suite complete with a huge private bathroom with a two-person Jacuzzi brand spa tub and a glass block walk-in shower. It also has a deck with ocean view right outside. A second bedroom also has a private bath that features high end fixtures. We stayed at this rental for four nights in January 2008. We have rented several properties before including some in Santa Cruz and we thought this one was great. It is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable (great beds!) and very clean. We loved the view from the deck and the kids loved to sit watching the ocean from the breakfast nook. The owners were very accomodating and helpful. Hopefully we will manage to visit the area again soon and if so we will definitely be in touch.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This place was fantastic. I would stay here again. The porch is lovely and relaxing. There are plenty of linens and the kitchen is well stocked. It is really very close to the beach, and a very short walk to the boardwalk. In my opinion a perfect location. No parking restrictions plus a garage. I didn't use the jacuzzi but it is enormous. I highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house is definitely as described in both words and photos. The mornings were cool and we watched the bay while sipping our morning coffee. Did a jacuzzi in the evening. Walked down to Aldo's restaurant at the Harbor for breakfast and then out to the lighthouse. There were pelicans flying by and cormorants diving for fish. Got to use the kitchen and it's got everything anyone would need. The place was immaculate. Anyone interested in a romantic getaway couldn't ask for better.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We love your house!!!! I brought my parents here for a Christmas Present and am so glad I did. Our original plan was just to stay until Sunday, but we were having such a great time and enjoyed the house so much we extended our stay another night. The weather was great and we enjoyed hanging out on the patio. Love that fact that we are so close to everything. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your awesome home for our mini vacation! THANK YOU! We had just a phenomenal time at your home. We can't wait to rent it again. The proximity to the beach was perfect. We thought we'd be a bit further back...being that close was such a treat! Mostly, we enjoyed the rooftop deck. We were on it every morning and evening...and it was perfect for watching the meteor showers on Wednesday evening...we had the kids out there until 12:30am watching... Funny note, on the day we arrived, our kids (ages 9 and 6) ran upstairs and our youngest yells out "there is a huge tv!!) we were so comfortable in your home! Thanks again so much! Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: Back in the early 1990s when we visited friends in Santa Cruz, we fell in love with the town and it's natural beauty. In 1993 we purchased our Mott Avenue home and spent many weekends there. The house was fully remodeled by 2000 and new hardwood floors other upgrades and new carpet was added in 2009. New refrigerator, dishwasher and King bed was added in December 2011. Recently we purchased another home about a mile away where we now live and Mott Ave has become a full time vacation rental.

As anyone in the greater bay area can tell you, Santa Cruz offers the warmest and family friendly beaches in northern California with world class surfing and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk - one of the last seaside amusement parks left in the US. Santa Cruz is a wonderful place for young and old.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love taking afternoon naps while listening to the ocean, birds, and sea lions. We love the sunlight from the many skylights and windows and the ocean views from decks at day and stars at night. We love the walks on the beach and around the neighborhood checking out the many flower gardens. We love eating lunch on the second story deck and having a glass of wine at sunset.
