Bormes-les-Mimosas bed and breakfast description
Bormes les Mimosas has recently been selected the 'Most Flowered Village of Europe,' and is a four-star destination on the Cote d'Azur, the French Riviera. This medieval provençal village is on a hill, three kilometers inland from the coast, and is capped by a medieval fortress. There is a beautiful baroque church in the village, many shops and and many nice cafés and restaurants. Nearly all of the streets are for pedestrians only. The entire village is classified by the French government as a protected site, and visited by many people every year, particularly during the months of the mimosas bloom in February.
This beautiful apartment is in an 18th century building which made up the later ramparts of the village. The apartment has the advantage of being off the beaten tourist path and has drive-up possibility with limited parking. There is an unobstructed view of the ocean and coast line of Cap Benat and the islands of Levant and Porquerolles, and is three kilometers from the most beautiful beaches on the coast in the Var district. Saint Tropez is 30 minutes by car. The Bay of Breganson, where President HOLLAND has his summer residence, is the local beach with parking. Bormes is four hours from Paris by TGV fast train via Marseille.
The apartment has three spacious rooms, is 60 square meters (646 square feet) and is very charmingly furnished with some antiques and and is fully-equipped. There is a new queen-size bed in the bedroom. The new couch in the living room converts to a double bed. This living room can be closed off to become the SECOND BEDROOM and has two windows with beautiful ocean views. There is a large NEW KITCHEN with an oven + 4 burners, dishwasher and refrigerator, with an amazing view from a large door window with balcony. The bathroom is also newly redone and has a view and is equipped with a large shower, double sink, toilet and washing machine. The electricity has recently been redone throughout. A new washing machine is installed. Heating is electric. WIFI

Absolutely beautiful place. For folks from the US, this place is a little hard to find, and parking is a little tricky, but once you get past all that, what a view !! All amenities were functional and new. Very nice place.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay with our two children in Bormes late July. The apartment has a perfect location: it is situated in the heart of the pedestrian village, but it is still accessible by car. Not far from the apartment there is a small bakery where you can buy your breakfast : French baguette and delicious little buns. My husband really loved this little morning walk ! The décor of the appartment is simply exquisite, everything is pretty even in the smallest details (we especially liked the pictures). And last but not least : the view from the windows of the living room and the kitchen is absolutely amazing !

My wife and I rent this wonderful apartment for two weeks in the spring of 2013. The location, facilities and overall experience could not have been better. The views from the apartment over the town and the ocean were spectacular. The location was within short walking distance to the town center and its many wonderful restaurants and shops. The local hiking trails led from the town to the mountain ridges and beaches along on the Mediterranean. We ventured to the Isle of Port Cros from the ferry in Le Lavandou, hiked the countless miles of the Sentiers Littoral and savored the lunches at L’Estagnol and the local wines of the Chateau Bregancon, Leoube and Le Sangliere. The apartment was well appointed with all the conveniences for cooking, laundering and internet services. The local markets and convenience of the larger grande marches in Le Lavandou made for a comfortable and complete vacation. We would highly recommend this for a couple seeking a good value and great French community experience.

A Wonderful Gem!
A Wonderful Gem!
We were fortunate enough to stay at this property during part of our honeymoon and couldn't be more pleased about the experience. Bormes is a lovely endearing town that is very welcoming to out of towners. We immediately fell in love with the apartment, wonderful setup and beautiful light and its proximity to the old village of Bormes and easy access to the French Riviera. The photos of the apartment do not do it justice. The view is breathtaking and the apartment's condition and size exceeded our expectations and provided for a very comfortable stay. We opted out of having a car and were able to pretty easily navigate the local bus system to the local beaches and as far as St. Tropez, though in the height of the tourist season, it is probably more reliable to have a car because the bus schedules were not consistent and oftentimes buses would be full. On the flip side, the buses were very reasonable (2 euro per person), nice, air conditioned and helped avoid dealing with parking and the stress of driving. We also very much appreciated the owner's recommendations about local activities and restaurants and thought they were all spot on - we especially loved the bakery in Bormes Le Pin - La Sirene and next door Bistrot for wonderful friendly service. We very much hope to return someday!

My review of this beautiful apartment in the French Riviera.
My review of this beautiful apartment in the French Riviera.
I had the pleasure of staying for 28 days during the month of July, 2011. Yes, I highly recommend staying at this 700 sq. ft. one bedroom one bath flat with the greatest direct view of theMediterranean. Bormes les Mimosas is a beautiful thriving village and is 20 Kilometers from St. Tropez and close to many beautiful medievil villages. The flat is in a winding 17th century village that is 100% locals except for you and the daily tourists. The people are great. The shoppes are superb and Bormes is the safest place on earth. The appliances, kitchen, etc. basic cable, DVD work great and are new. There is no air conditioning but during peak summer it is 55 degees at night. Nice. I recommend for maximum 3 people but is ideal for one or two persons. This area is not very handicap accessible. For the price its a home run. You will sleep very well. The owner is very responsible and organized.

My wife and I spent four months here, from January to May. Let me start with the bottom line: it was nothing short of marvelous! From the apartment itself (including interactions with the wonderful owner) to the village and its setting, we could not have asked for a more ideal combination. The apartment is even better than described at the site. Because of its floor plan, it feels much more spacious than its official 62 square meters. The living room connects to the bedroom. But when the French doors to the bedroom are opened, the main room feels bigger. In the entrance/kitchen/dining area, the clever partitioning with arched openings on the upper halves of the separating walls gives a feeling of there being additional space. Second, the apartment is very charmingly and tastefully decorated. This, together with high quality furnishings, gives the occupant the sense of being a guest in a friend’s home rather than a tenant in a rental apartment. Put simply: one feels at home. Third, the apartment is nicely equipped, and has an upscale bathroom that is a real plus! The setting is perfect. Bormes Les Mimosas is a medieval village built on a slope (and away from the beach crowds in Le Lavandou). The apartment is in the village, but pleasantly located a block away from the main street (rue Carnot) that attracts the most tourists. The kitchen and living room offer an unobstructed and breathtaking panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea and les “Iles d’Or.” As the sun travels across the southern sky throughout the day, subtle changes in scenery are offered by shifting lighting! While this part of France is peppered with “les plus beaux villages de France,” Bormes is second to none for charm. The village thankfully hosts many nice quality local artisan shops and mercifully few touristy souvenir stands. On the other hand, the local butcher, charcuterie, pharmacy, épicerie, and other providers of daily essentials are not so local; grocery shopping requires a visit “down the hill.” This proved to be only a minor inconvenience, well compensated by the village’s wonderful attributes.

About the owner: I am from Los Angeles, California. I've lived in France for 24 years and married a frenchman. I am an artist, painter and amateur musician. The apartment has a good small collection of contemporary paintings.
Why the Owner Chose Bormes-les-Mimosas:
Bormes is one of the only villages on the Cote d'Azur that is populated even during the winter and Fall. Most of the other pictoresque villages are vacation only and are totally vacant during the off season months. This is a place where there is a stable local population, not just second home people, and this was important to me.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
The spectacular view is always an inspriation. The apartment is well laid out and very comfortable. I go there to 'get away from it all'.
