Ocean Point is a cottage community with no year round residents, so the atmosphere during the Summer is relaxed and care free. Most of the rocky coast is owned by the community. So when you walk the 200 feet to the shore, there is a mile or so of uninterrupted access for exploring tide pools or just relaxing with your feet in the Atlantic. The community is an old one. There are families, like ours, that have been coming to the Point literally for generations. The cottage you are considering has been in our family for over eighty years. We are very glad to be able to share it with you.
The community has developed a number of good traditions and built some extraordinary institutions over the years. We have a community center called The Casino. It offers youth programs and sponsors many pot-luck suppers and pancake breakfasts throughout the Summer. Around it are three tennis courts, a playground (with a nice sandbox, swings and a jungle gym) and a softball field across the street with 'regular' pick-up games, that have produced some exciting moments. There is a public dock infront of the Ocean Point Inn for fishing, swimming and boating. Lots of community activities to enjoy or ignore. But best of all there is the rocky Atlantic coast to walk along and wonder at. If you run, there is a well marked 5K loop that takes you from the coast through the woods and back again.
