Location: Lakehead, Shasta Lake, Shasta Cascade, California, USA (20 miles north of Redding, 40 miles south of Mt. Shasta)

Accommodations:  Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)

While rustic in nature, this is not Abe Lincoln's log cabin. Well furnished and fully equipped it is our favorite place to relax in comfort. Less than 5 minutes from two boat ramps and 1 mi. walk/drive to lake access.

The two bedrooms have comfortable Queen-size pillow-top beds. One of the bedrooms has a private bathroom with a granite-tiled shower, the other shares the main bathroom through a separate entrance. The kids will be happy to hang in the 'bunk-house' which is located in the center of the cabin. The bunkhouse will comfortably sleep five in a set of bunk beds, a single trundle and a full sized futon.

The kitchen is right out of the 1950’s complete with an antique gas stove and is completely equipped right down to a variety of spices and staples.

  • INCREDIBLE! We didn't want to leave. The place was clean and stocked with an assortment of spices in the kitchen. It was bigger than we expected. We went for a one night visit to scout out the area for our August vacation. We are so excited and can't wait to return with the rest of our family then. I am homesick for it already!

  • We spent Easter at the house with our 2 kids ages 7 and 5. We had a great time, the cabin was very warm and comftorable. The beds very comfy and the kitchen so cute. We did lots of hiking and biking during our stay. The kids loved the fire pit outside and playing soccer in the grass. We will definetly stay here again if we ever visit Lake Shasta again and will recommend the cabin to friends and family.

  • The cabin was absolutely wonderful! I was a little skeptic about how close it was to the freeway but it was a blessing. Very easy to travel around to other areas (the mossbrae falls in Dunsmuir are a must see) and then come back to the cabin and relax and unwind. Beautiful to sit out side and look at the stars. Wonderful common areas to chat with friends and enough spaces to find some alone time. We loved it!! I would go again in an instant! :)

  • We stayed in the cottage. It was bigger than I imagined, very nice. We took 2 kids and it was great. The kitchen was well stocked and decorated very cute. I would return in the future and next time I would like to stay in the cabin.

  • Just returned from a wonderful week at the Kabin. We really enjoyed our week. The Kabin was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We were really sad to leave. We took our boat out on Shasta Lake, but we spent two days at Whiskeytown Lake (17 miles west of Redding). The lake has crystal clear blue water and is wonderful to ski and swim in all the great coves. I would recomment Burney Falls as a most see place to visit!! I would diffently recommend this Kabin!! We will have wonderful memories of our 2007 Summer Vacation.
